COVENANT CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL
ANNUAL REPORT
Dear Covenant Family, I love to tell the Covenant story to all who will listen and for as long as they can stand it. But if I am pressed to be succinct, I simply tell them that God alone has built and sustained this place by moving through the hearts and talents of friends, families, students and volunteers like you. Covenant is a special place. Our students say it is challenging, but that it is worth it. Our families say there is no place like it. Newcomers comment that they feel it as soon as they enter the building or experience one of our events. Our alumni continue to comment on how it has prepared them for engaging the world. The key is that we are mission true. Through the contexts of academics, fine arts, athletics, and clubs, we exist to provide an excellent, Christ-centered education, equipping students for a life of scholarship, leadership, and service. Author Peter Greer notes in his book Mission Drift: The Unspoken Crisis Facing Leaders, Charities, and Churches challenges us in this: “In its simplest form, Mission True organizations know why they exist and protect their core at all costs. They remain faithful to what they believe God has entrusted them to do.” We remain committed to biblically permeated engagement of all subjects, and we continue to pursue opportunities to discover God’s truth through core classes, intense electives, career-exploring internships, and mission and academic trips. I cannot understate the beauty of covenanting together with you in this pursuit. The high school years tend to be a student’s most emotionally and spiritually formative time. We are honored to partner with you in influencing our students to engage the world via a biblically sound Christian worldview. As we celebrate together God’s work and faithfulness at Covenant, I invite you to consider a special gift to our annual fund. There are few investments as impactful and enduring as mission-true kingdom work equipped through Christian education. I hope you will enjoy this glimpse into the impact of your own and others’ contributions to the Covenant story, as well as learn of future opportunities to partner with us. As always, thank you for your faithfulness to the Lord, to the Word, to your family, and to this place. For the Kingdom,
Andy Goodwin Principal and CEO
FACULTY & STAFF The Teacher Heart of Covenant award recognizes an individual who exhibits excellence in teaching, who champions the mission of our school, who exemplifies our philosophy, who embodies our values, and who pursues spiritual transformation in self and students. David Tripple is a leader in our community that is sought out for advice and training among peers and students. He is a leader in pedagogy, continually and humbly seeking to grow; naturally bringing biblical reflection into the curriculum; and seeking creative ways of helping students. Mr. Tripple leads students into truth, a truth that is alive within the beauty of trusting relationships. Mr. Tripple with Mr. Trujillo & Dr. Goodwin after receiving the Teacher Heart of Covenant Award.
His students love learning, they are motivated and productive. They feel valued. He prays with students, mentors students, and all the while offering an atmosphere of “new discovery and the pursuit of wisdom.” Mr. Tripple cares deeply about the student’s spiritual AND academic maturity. Mr. Tripple’s influence reaches far beyond the classroom. His name is brought up by parents as someone who has inspired and impacted their student in faith and life. He is a passionate advocate for minority students and has championed a more thorough understanding of what diversity truly means in the context of Christian education. And, he has joyfully accepted every task that he has been given.

DONORS
Musician, Christian education advocate, and former Colts player Hunter Smith shared with Covenant Celebrates 2018 attendees.
We believe in the impact of every contribution. We try to make a Covenant education affordable. The impact of each contribution to the Covenant Annual Fund helps bridge the gap between tuition income and the actual annual cost of providing financial aid. Tax-advantaged contributions are a powerful way of making this possible. We offer several ways to contribute: •donate through automatic monthly funding opportunities •make a one-time donation •donate cash & securities •donate through tax credit scholarships •donate through planned giving (contribute to our endowment or donor advised fund) Questions? Please contact Perry Hines in Advancement at 317-390-0202 ext 210.
Niccole Wilkes (Youth for Christ) and Bill Stanczykiewicz (Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at IU) received the Community Heart of Covenant at Covenant Celebrates 2018.
