to that Freshwater’s famous non-alcoholic drinks superstore, Sans Drinks, made it easy to have a great night out, without the hangover. Now, Founder Irene Falcone has released Australia’s first non-alcoholic Vodka substitute.

There’s always something fun happening at Sans Drinks in Freshwater. Pop in on a Friday afternoon, and you’ll strike up a conversation with a fellow local stocking up for a hangover free weekend.

From clever 18 year olds to health conscious mums, couples, and those over 50s, there is something for everyone to enjoy from a huge selection of non-alcoholic drinks. And now, in preparation for a rollout across Australia, Sans Drinks is getting a makeover.

“There’s new branding, new signage at the store, and some brand new products,” says Sans Drinks Owner, Irene Falcone.

“We’ve gone from being more of a young, fun, and quirky brand to something a little more slick and sophisticated.”

While popular drops like Heaps Normal beer, Noughty bubbles, and 1920 wines continue to fl y off the shelves, Sans Drinks has expanded its own exclusive range of products under the Sans Bar, and Ms Sans labels, including non-alc spritz, gin, whiskey, and tequila substitutes.

“I created Sans Bar and Ms Sans to give customers delicious, complex, non-alcoholic spirits at an affordable price,” says Irene.

“I found such a massive gap in the market for alcohol-free drinks so we’ve released a whole range of alcohol-free spirits including replacements for Vodka, Whisky and more.”

And even more impressive is the brand’s latest offering which is an alcohol-free vodka substitute.

“No one has done a non-alcoholic vodka substitute before because it’s very hard to do. Once you take the alcohol out, there’s not much left. We’ve managed to make something that’s as close as you’re going to get, and it’s a wonderful tasting formulation. I drink it on its own in a martini glass,” laughs Irene. Always a leader in her fi eld, Irene is a brilliant business woman, especially when it comes to delivering exactly what the market wants.

“I did it because people kept asking for it,” she says. “We had to use a lot of non-alcoholic gin substitutes to emulate drinks like a Cosmopolitan or an Espresso Martini, so we created a vodka substitute for people to use.”

The most colourful bottle in all of the Ms Sans range has to be the classic purple, Call Me Indigo Butterfl y Pea, which is a winner for anyone who’s partial to a gin-alternative with a twist. And if you’re stuck for mocktail inspiration on Saturday night, there are over 200 recipes to choose from on the Sans Drinks website, including Ms Sans Classic Virgin Cosmopolitan, Wilfred’s Sec Martini, and Nine Elms Sangria. ht, to rinks
