FINALS WEEK
The last few days of the 2022 Snaffle Bit Futurity®, presented by Metallic Cat, offer more action than only the event finals. Be sure to plan for these fun events.
It’s that chill when the National Anthem plays, the sizzle in the air as the audience anticipates the first Finals cow run and the rush of having one of the seats that are typically sold out in the Will Rogers Coliseum. That is the National Reined Cow Horse Association Snaffle Bit Futurity® Finals. Yet, there is much more to reined cow horse’s cornerstone 3-year-old event than only those last few runs. Showing starts on Thursday, October 6th, and continues until the Open Finals run on October 22. Rip out this guide to Finals week action so you won’t miss a single minute!
GET THIS PARTY STARTED!
Kick off the last few days of the Futurity Finals by watching the now-officially sanctioned Cowboy Class on Wednesday, October 19, in the John Justin Arena. The class starts at 8 a.m. and continues until the last cowboy has gone down the fence and roped his steer. After that, prepare to celebrate at the Snaffle Bit Futurity® Draw Party on Wednesday, October 19th. Held on grounds in the Round Up Inn, the party kicks off at 6:30 with food, drinks and more entertainment than most of us can handle. Finalist are invited to attend with the horse owners and their families as their three-event draws for the Finals are revealed. It’s never a dull night with so many personalities in the same room!

ALL HAIL THE BOSS
For the first time, the NRCHA is honoring our Boss Mares, mares that have offspring that earned in excess of $500,000 at a special invitation-only reception held at the Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame. In addition, these eight mares and their owners will be recognized during the Open Finals on October 22. Please join us in giving congratulations to the connections to the following Boss Mares: Lil Miss Shiney Chex, Magical Lena, Scooters Daisy Dukes, Sheza Shinette, Shiners Diamond Girl, Shiney Tari, Smoke Time Tuck and Soula Jule Forever.

Western Bloodstock Snaffle Bit Futurity Sales® take over the Watt Arena starting on Wednesday, October 19, with the 2-year-old Preview starting at 10 a.m. The sale starts on Friday, October 21, at 10 a.m. and continues through Saturday.
Several premier event champions walk through the arena annually, so keep your eye out for the next NRCHA Futurity winner in the sale ring!
FINALS WEEKEND FUN CONTINUED
EAT, DRINK & SHOP
Wednesday through Saturday the Food Truck Plaza will set up again between the Coliseum and the covered warm-up arena next to the John Justin. With multiple vendors ranging from sno cones to pizza, and more, the options for snacking go way up. Check off your holiday shopping lists early with a trip through BrownLupton North and South in the Moncrief Building, and the vendors located outside along the road, where you can shop vendors from boots and hats, to tack, to jewelry and clothing. There is truly something for every shopper!
ROPERS READY
The cow horse action may have wrapped in the John Justin by Finals weekend, but the DT horses and American Rope Horse Futurity-presented Rope Horse Futurity will keep the excitement going. For five years, ropers have brought their best to Fort Worth, Texas, to compete for big money and prizes at this event. It brings out stars in the rodeo arena, as well as some of the Open Futurity riders you’re accustomed to seeing using the fence for turns, not hazing one down the pen.
Catch the ropers starting at 8 a.m. Thursday, October 20, through Saturday, October 22.
THAT’S A WRAP
At 4 p.m. on October 22, the opening ceremonies kick start the thrilling Metallic Cat-presented Snaffle Bit Futurity® Finals in the historic Will Rogers Coliseum. Open Finalists will rein then work a cow to determine what rider and their 3-year-old partner leave Fort Worth with the coveted Champion title. The fun isn’t over after the victory lap—the Metallic Cat NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity After Party will just be getting started in the Food Truck Plaza! Live music, food and drinks will entertain those who want to continue celebrating. Don’t miss a thing on Finals Saturday!
