Blend Jet

The Original Portable Blender This is hands down my favorite personal blender that I have ever owned! I blend a lot of shakes for my workouts and breakfast and have been doing this for years and this little blender will chop up ice, vegetables, fruit and much more in a breeze. You can also use it as a food processor in chopping nuts and other ingredients. And it is rechargeable with its USB port which makes it so handy. The hardest part about ordering is selecting a color as they have 16 colors to choose from. It is also self-cleaning. Just add a drop of dishsoap and water, turn on and it cleans itself. It is amazing.

hether green or well schooled, many horses will lay in the rider’s hands instead of taking true contact. Some may do so as a form of resistance or greenness; whereas, others may be traveling on the forehand, sore, accustomed to pulling the reins from the rider’s hands, off the track or are unable or resistant of performing self carriage.

Next, prepare to supple your horse with some flex, counter flex movements at the walk. As you walk through a corner, bend into the corner using your inside leg at the barrel to bend your horse through his back and “sponge” your inside rein lightly to flex his head and neck. Finally, the last exercise is a version of the first giving rein exercise. However, here you will give both reins, alternating between them. At the walk, give with your inside rein so you have no contact on that rein, pushing your elbow forward, for three steps. Gently take up the contact again on that rein while giving the outside rein for three steps. Repeat each side then perform at the trot.

If you follow these exercises, your horse should feel lighter in your hands, feel more balanced in self carriageArticle Search, have a lower poll and softer jaw and jowl and be willing to stretch forward and down in soft contact as needed without pulling your reins out of your hands.

cALLISON rANCH By:Nikki Callison Photo: Couresy of Callison Ranch 42 | Cowgirls In Style | Feb/Mar 2021

Families want to know where their beef comes from and how it was raised. Roger and Nikki of Callison Ranch love sharing their ranching way of life and ranch-raised beef with families across the country.

R

oger and Nikki are each from generations of ranching families. Roger grew up helping his father and grandfather care for their cattle herds. McCoy Ranch in southern Oklahoma was the childhood home of Nikki and her four brothers. Her parents’ ranch motto was “Raisin’ Kids, Cattle and Quality Horses.” Both Roger and Nikki left the ranching way of life until they met each other... www.cowgirlsinstyle.com | 43

Roger had experienced great tragedy in his personal life and had returned to his rural roots for comfort and healing when he and Nikki met. The couple began dating and every evening would feed the 20 heifers Roger has purchased. A dream and a love both grew... Nikki has written more about their beginnings and how they brought their three children home at one time on Instagram #callisonranchlovestory 44 | Cowgirls In Style | Feb/Mar 2021

Now, 20 years later, Callison Ranch raises beef from start to finish and ships their premium dry-aged product right from the ranch to families coast to coast. The Callison Ranch Market will open on the ranch very soon, giving people an opportunity to make the valuable connection with their food and its source. It will be a place where visitors can buy great beef, see the ranch and meet the ranchers who love serving families. The market will also include other local goods and premium products thoughtfully sourced. The Callison’s have added a large patio overlooking the ranch creek for smoking beef and entertaining families, sharing the life they love.

Their cattle are grass-fed, grain-finished and ranch-raised from start to finish. There are no shortcuts. As Nikki states, “We diligently care for our cattle and the land they enjoy. We are organically minded and GMO free whenever possible. Our cattle graze wide-open fields and drink fresh water their entire lives. From our pasture to your plate, you can confidently know where your food comes from and how it was cared for.

SEASON

2

Country music icon, Trace Adkins, returns to host the highly anticipated second season of INSP Channel’s first competition series.

T

his season, fourteen strong-willed cowboys head to a sweltering Texas ranch to prove they can out-cowboy the competition. The contestants lock horns in a number of grueling challenges, with Trace and a panel of experts judging their skills, knowledge, grit, and passion. Competing to win it all is a group of men and women from all across the nation with diverse backgrounds, including a world-renowned horse trainer, an eight-time US team roping champion, and

a professional bull rider, to name a few. Full of explosive drama, and lots of ego, the pressure is on for the cowboys to prove they have what it takes. One-by-one, the contestant that can’t stack up to the challenge hits the trail and heads home until only one stands, winning the prize of a lifetime. The 10 episodes of Ultimate Cowboy Showdown Season 2 will air on INSP starting on Wednesday, February 24th at 9PM ET.

Cowboy SHOWDOWN

The fan-favorite show, hosted by awardwinning country music icon, Trace Adkins, will make its anticipated return on Wednesday, February 24th at 9PM ET. Craig Miller, VP of Original Programming & Development for INSP, made the announcement. “Our viewers really embraced the first season of Ultimate Cowboy Showdown,” said Miller. “They immediately connected with the real-life cowboy contestants and picked the ones they wanted to root for and against. We decided this 2nd season needed to be even bigger, so we filmed it in Texas, where everything is bigger. We added more episodes, more challenges, more contestants, and more prizes. Viewers are going to love seeing this incredibly talented and diverse cast of veteran cowboys as they lock horns.” www.cowgirlsinstyle.com | 63

Entertainment Miller continued, “Country music icon, Trace Adkins is back in the saddle as host for season 2. Trace is a Louisiana native with a profound appreciation for what it takes to be a cowboy. He enjoys riding alongside these rough and tough wranglers to challenge their skills and cowboy code character. Then, as host and deciding judge, the cowboys must face Trace each week for an elimination round. Any cowboy who fails to perform to Trace’s expectations will be told to, ‘hit the trail’. So, things get intense quickly as no one wants to end up on Trace Adkins’ bad side!” In Ultimate Cowboy Showdown, 14 cowboys (men and women) from all across the country compete for a life-changing prize. Each week, viewers will watch the strong-willed cowboys undergo a series of grueling physical and mental challenges that will test them individually and as teams. Chock full of explosive drama, and lots of ego, the last cowboy standing will walk away with a prize package that includes a herd they can take to market, a Rawhide Portable Corral, an Arrowquip QCatch 87 Series Cattle Chute, the coveted Ultimate Cowboy Showdown belt-buckle, and a lifetime of bragging rights.
