The Vikse Family Farm was established in 1902 and we are proud of its 110 years and its newest member making it six generations.

There’s lots of choices out there and we really appreciate you considering us for your next herd sire. The friendships we’ve made and the places our cattle have taken us, the memories can never be replaced. To be able to grow up and raise our family in our community is really special. A really big “Thank You” to all our family and friends that helped us make this day happen!

We feel our offering is right at the top of any bulls you will find anywhere. The very maternal cows we purchased from Eggens six years ago have really proven to be a fantastic investment when we crossed them with herd sires such as Hamaruka, Fully Loaded, Smokin Jo, Well Put, Overflow and Wildcard.

Its hard to express how excited we are about our Charolais program. The silver, tan and buckskin market continues to be exceptionally strong. We expanded our Charolais herd this summer with the Altwasser Charolais herd from Lumby, BC. Altwasser had one of the recognized herds in BC and we are very excited to have incorporated their herd into our herd. So, together with our Spring Side cows, we’ve had an exciting and thrilling fall show season. Today we both feel really blessed and excited to offer you Charolais bulls from these highly successful herds.

We feel we can offer you a truly excellent product at a fair price and we will stand behind it 100%. Bulls can get injured and things can happen but we have the numbers to help you out. It doesn’t matter if you bought a bull from us or not, we’re happy to help.

We want your bull purchases to look great not only today, but for years to come. We are feeding a pelleted ration from Wetaskiwin Co-op that has ZERO grain. Developing and growing the bulls while not jeopardizing feet, liver and longevity is our goal.

I love when a plan comes together! The opportunity to use a legend like Divide 8J, to be able to walk a bull of his magnitude that is 10 years old, doesn’t come around very often. 8J is an “Elite” sire and has 27 “Elite” daughters, the most famous of which would be the Goldie daughters such as 240L, the dam of Fully Loaded. Also in that group are the Brandy daughters and sons such as Cinch, Thirty X and Digger.

We sold ½ interest in Red Vikse Hamaruka 158W to Corona Creek.

Since purchasing 24M through the Tom Arnett Dispersal, she has been a top cow in our herd and has had a son sell to Mac Creech.

Daredevil, a bull that will add lots of length to his calves, will also give them that extra boost of performance which he gets from his “Elite” dam.

Last year she raised a big bull calf that sold to Carl Brockhoff through this sale and her first heifer calf sold to Dwajo Angus in the Northern Select as a bred heifer.

Unless previously arranged with Vikse Family Farm, terms of this sale are cash or cheque payable in Canadian Funds. No release will be given until satisfactory settlement has been made.

2.

Bulls: Every animal entering the ring will be sold to the highest bidder. In the case of a dispute the auctioneer’s decision is final.

3.

Any changes from information in this catalogue will be announced from the auction block, such changes will take precedence over printed matter in the catalogue.

4.

Purchaser’s Risk: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Insurance will be available sale day.

5.

Delivery: Free delivery of bulls to central points. We will winter bulls free of charge until May 1, 2012. Bulls left after this date will be charged a fee of $1.50/day for board.

6.

Liability: Everyone that attends the sale does so at their own risk without any liability to the owners.

7.

Breeder’s Guarantee All animals sold are guaranteed breeders. Any animal that has not proven himself during the 2012 breeding season and was not neglected by the buyer can be returned and replaced with a warranty bull or given credit toward next year’s sale.
