The new “Six Pack” Interprint is presenting six current décor favourites.

M

any décors, reflection and opinions of experts. Renowned representatives of the furniture and derived timber products sectors meet with the Interprint team every year during the “Interprint Furniture Days” workshop at the Design Centre in Arnsberg to intensively discuss which décors have the greatest market potential. The latest trend forecast by the Interprint Design Team was confirmed. They are striking, strong-character décors that are very prominent. That this trend forecast works is shown by the “Iconic” beech décor, a highlight of the “Six Pack 2014” collection. It has established itself with great sovereignty in the current furniture collections of the manufacturers.

Lexington – home-oriented. Local and regional is a long-standing cult, home-country feeling is modern again. Oak is a part of that. The special feature here: numerous different types of oak are combined in this décor – for numerous possibilities of designing your own four walls.

The new “success-promising six” are called Lexington, Ambassador, Calobra, Clark, Cadiz and Vinterbergh. They fulfil the wish for “room atmosphere” – from home-oriented to elegant and lively. Interprint proudly presents “The Six Pack 2015”. “The Six Pack 2015”. The six favourite wood décors are the result of passion, strong visual ideas, craftsmanship and a feel for natural wood and trends.

More atmosphere here: www.sixpack2015.interprint.de

Calobra – lively. Simply close your eyes and think about a first warm beach day. Open your eyes again and the good feeling remains. Alder is a wood with the colour of sand. It makes you think about walking barefooted on planks. Nice mind cinema.

Vinterbergh – analogue digital. A pine of course but one that got its final touch on the computer monitor. First craft and then software. The décor is difficult to beat because it is unique. Young and fresh, new lifestyle, so much is certain.

2 design & décors | NOVEMBER 2015

Ambassador – elegant. As a child, we have sat in amazement and still in many walnut-veneered dining rooms. This wonderful wood is still impressive today. It is fine but can also be an understatement. Super Retro Style.

Clark – independent. Categorisation is not possible. The décor is different, wild and independent. Obviously maple but different to that what one has often seen. To where does this look belong? Preferably to the design of the sixties.

Cadiz – unmistakable. Immediately recognisable as teak. Completely rough and nothing halfway. Without doubt a definite style. The unmistakable wood confidently shows its signs. A décor with which one has already lived well and gladly.

Background: The new B9 in Graphite Grey

Thirty years old and with a rapidly growing portfolio, David Clouting Ltd has developed an enviable reputation both for the supply of edging materials and decorative surfaces, including interior and exterior decorative films for furniture and commercial interiors.

F

rom its two warehouses in Braintree and Dewsbury, the company promises rapid delivery from its substantial stock holding.

The company’s association with LG Hausys spans 18 years and today, David Clouting is the largest independent distributor of Decofoil for LG Hausys. This long-standing relationship has provided access for many customers to LG’s world class technology and R&D. This innovative vinyl foil brand includes new Hard Coat lacquered PET technology for flat lamination in both gloss and super matt finishes at price points that suit large-scale production - and naturally, David Clouting supplies matching edgebanding. For pressed panels, the recently introduced B9 painted wood effect, which encompasses both print and a superb texture, is hard to beat. B9 is stocked in seven of the latest colours: Porcelain White, Ivory, Mussel, Stone Grey, Cashmere, Light Grey and Graphite Grey. The B9 range is perfect if you want to free up capacity on your paint line, or avoid painting altogether - and it’s highly durable. Small quantities of bespoke products are also available if you don’t find what you’re looking for in the stock colour range.

Gloss Decofoil continues to lead the way in sales for high gloss doors and David Clouting has recently introduced Graphite Gloss to supplement the 2014 introductions of Cashmere, Light Grey, Dakar and Stone Grey. Comprehensive solid colour, wood, art and metallic gloss ranges are also in stock and David Clouting’s collections include gloss, gloss with a hard coat finish, smooth matt, matt with texture, matt with wood textures (F3 and now B9), super matt with Innoface and super matt with hard coat finishes. There’s even a new satin finish that’s half way between gloss and matt that gives the look of a lacquered panel and, like other finishes, it’s available in both eco friendly PETG and the traditional PVC vinyls. David Clouting Ltd is rightly proud of its close partnership with leading décor specialists. The company’s association with Schattdecor and Pfleiderer has recently seen the introduction of two new Chiavenna Walnut décors. In conjunction with a matching texture, Chiavenna Walnut is almost indistinguishable from wood veneer.

The Decorative Panels dp-specialist and dp-decor ranges have grown again with the latest addition of four Senoplast acrylic Matt designs and seven new décors.

N

ew additions to dp-specialist include four on trend contemporary Senoplast Matt designs; Frost White, Cream, Cashmere and Dark Grey, all of which will be available ex stock from December. These new Matt colours can be used in any contemporary environment either individually or in conjunction with our Senoplast Gloss designs as complementary product. Of course they also have tried and tested UV protection offering exceptional colour stability. Recently introduced into the dp-décor Reality Collection are Bob’s Pine, Redgate, and Ivory 3D. The Reality Collection continues to grow with more and more additions to what are the most realistic woodgrains available in the market. Three new designs have been added to the dp-décor Core Collection all of which bring fresh colour and grain tones to this extensive collection – they are Ville Oak, Machiavelli Oak, and Rumford Walnut. Coordinating texture, colour and materials makes for an ideal match.

R

ecent product innovations from wood panel and laminates manufacturer Egger have seen the quest for ultra-realism reach new heights with the introduction of textures and décors indistinguishable from the real thing. And with the blurring of divisions between cooking, dining and living spaces in the home, coordination is key – with manufacturers and retailers alike looking for matching products where worktops, doors, end-panels, shelving, plinths and edging are available from a single source. Two other new products give furniture makers the opportunity to reflect the continuing popularity of high gloss, and the emerging trend of velvet matt surfaces, seen in premium kitchens – but at a realistic price. Thanks to a revolutionary UV coating process, its new PerfectSense Gloss and PerfectSense Matt boards provide a particularly hardwearing surface with an up-market look and feel. Recently launched, they are produced on a brand new line in Germany and have a core of super-smooth MDF. The gloss boards offer a combination of a real mirror finish with a tough, smooth and flawless surface that is strong in the fabrication process and suitable for heavieruse applications – being particularly scratchresistant and robust.

Egger’s new coating process gives its second new product – PerfectSense Matt – unique properties of its own, making it highly resistant to fingerprints. The warm, soft look also gives it an up-market feel that is gaining in popularity. But it is the October launch of a completely revamped worktop range that best shows Egger’s appreciation of what the market is looking for. This promises to have a huge impact thanks to a new on-trend 3mm postformed range in 26 standard décors as well as a premium collection with 12 exciting woodgrain, stone, granite and ceramic décors in a 25mm and 38mm square edge design. The changes reflect an increasing demand for open plan spaces that are coordinated to create the right ambience for multifunctional

living. Creating that coordinated look requires materials that either match or complement the worktop.

And because Egger supplies the materials that are made into doors, carcasses, edging, shelving, end panels and plinths, the company enables manufacturers to bring the coordinated look together quickly and easily.

The new addition is a dark, elegant

Following the successful launch of three synchronised pore décors in 2014, the Egger Zoom range has been updated with three new Feelwood décors – including one brand new texture, that uses advanced surface technology to align the décor, print and texture to create a registered surface finish.

Egger is producing a new range of videos with the aim of helping furniture manufacturers and retailers keep up with changing design trends across Europe – but without the legwork. Available now at www.egger.com/homedecor-trendcast, and on Youtube, the videos will showcase new products and offer advice on how to use colour and texture combinations that reflect current thinking in a highly competitive marketplace. Egger – which has its melamine-faced chipboard and laminate décors used in

believes the speed of change in the sector requires a new approach. “It’s not that long ago that we could just produce our annual Insight publication highlighting some trends we had seen and showcasing our new ranges,” said head of decor development Elliott Fairlie. “But now trends are moving so fast we all have to react more quickly to the changing requirements of savvy kitchen, bedroom and bathroom buyers who scour the internet to see what’s new, save their chosen home decor look to the likes of Pinterest and then go out expecting to find it on the High Street. “My colleagues and I now spend a lot of our time attending shows in the UK and Europe, making sure Egger décors are on-trend as well as looking for new applications and permutations that will appeal to the domestic market.”

Bonlex is a name you know not only for high quality gloss films but now for satins and mirror finished décors.

O

wned by CI Kasei under the umbrella of the giant Itochu trading company, Bonlex products are sold widely through Plasfilms, who are also part of the Itochu group. Foils in a variety of thicknesses and finishes in both PVC and PET are stocked in the UK for immediate despatch to the market. “The main selling point for Bonlex is the quality,” says Chris Green, who heads up the Plasfilms operation in Ashby de la Zouch. “Bonlex is highly regarded for its extremely high gloss levels. Typically, a gloss film is manufactured as a matt product with a gloss layer over it. Bonlex high gloss is a high gloss product before the top finishing coat is added. The top coat gives it much more depth as well as providing scratch and chemical resistancy to very high levels. Because of the unique extrusion technology used at Bonlex there are very few defects in the foil - probably the lowest in the market,” says Chris. “Scratch and chemical resistance, like colour consistency, are second to none.” Bonlex recently launched four new high gloss neutrals, Cashmere, Mussel, Dakar and Congo - just part of a much more expansive range that now includes no fewer than seven Greys, some of which incorporate subtle hints of blue. These are supplemented by two coordinating Larch print designs. “As well as high gloss, we also have a range of satin finishes which we stock in the same colours as the gloss,” says Chris. “Unlike competitor foils, these satin finishes achieve the same chemical and scratch resistance as the gloss foils and show no surface marking. “We also have soft touch finishes which are genuinely non-marking, and a mirror finish as well as an ultra-high scratch resistance acrylic coated gloss product.” The softly-embossed range of satin unicolours includes White, Cream, Light Grey, Cashmere, Mussel and a sophisticated Black Satin. All six décors are now available through Plasfilms from stock.

12 design & décors | NOVEMBER 2015

How has Bonlex gone down with customers? “We’re switching over to Bonlex as fast as we can,” commented the enthusiastic MD of Crystal Doors, Richard Hagan. “We knew Bonlex foils were good 20 years ago but we couldn’t get hold of them. Now we are buying them from Plasfilms. Plasfilms carries a very good stock and they make sure they don’t run out.”

There is one more ace from Bonlex: “The price is good,” says Richard, “And that always gets sales. It’s comparable with others but the service we get from Plasfilms is better than we’ve had, we get better performance from the product and our rejects have gone down.”

2015 has been another busy year for the Senoplast/Senosan team.

H

igh gloss material sales are continuing to increase and as a result of our group’s continual investment policy we have successfully installed and commissioned a second cleanroom extrusion line during this year. This considerable investment has allowed us to introduce two new product ranges to complement the existing range of established products. Both new products have the lacquered coating TopX. Senosan AM1800Topmatt and Senosan TopX Acryl Glass were launched at the ZOW and Interzum furniture fairs earlier this year and will give our customers and their end users a wider choice of surface finish and surface properties. Gloss level, depth of gloss, scratch resistance, chemical resistance and fingerprint resistance (to mention a few) are becoming issues in the industry and Senosan products have addressed these with the lacquered TopX coating. So what for next year? Another busy year of continual product development/improvement and yes, more investment. A third cleanroom extrusion line is planned to be commissioned during 2016.

More Surface Fascination

T

he KREUZSCHLIFF imprint has a multifaceted effect among plain textiles. Precise laser engraving allows the razor-sharp presentation of a contoured cut appearance. The surface shimmers in metallic colours. The trend among the woods is different. skai® Riviera Oak presents this wood in a new light as very natural and subtly rustic. The décor combines typical details such as elegantly distinct mirrors and rays. skai® Riviera Oak feels particularly homely with the RUSTICO imprint – amplified by earth tones. Equally strong: skai® Iconic Beech. The décor image, with its exciting mix of pores and rustic elements, is very detailed. The fine PICTO imprint underlines the character. skai® Ida Elm shows Scandinavian clarity. The MATEX imprint gives the brushed look.
