aunched last year, BA Clic Components is going from strength to strength as it continues its production takeover of ClicBox carcassing in the UK. A young and exciting new business that offers clients the very latest innovative concept in kitchen cabinets using the patented UniClic for furniture technology, ClicBox promises to save your business time and money. Operating out of a dedicated 52,000 sqft factory in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, this site features the very latest in production equipment with a fully trained and driven workforce. The ClicBox carcass concept will appeal to a broad range of clients such as merchant groups, kitchen fitters, builders and developers as it will revolutionise the way the kitchen manufacturing and construction industries do business. When compared with the traditional method of constructing a carcass, ClicBox offers many advantages. David Caulfield, Sales and Marketing Director at BA explains, “The cabinets strength isn’t comprised by the simplistic design. The ground breaking system provides more strength and more stability than is possible with a standard cabinet because, instead of two or three fixing points, the entire edge of each panel creates an invisible locking joint.” In terms of its physical properties, ClicBox technology features 18mm thick MFC panels, with 1mm ABS across its leading edges and 8mm solid back panelling. Constructed units feature 18mm adjustable shelves that are fully edged all round and can be positioned at one of three possible heights. Wall cabinets are 330mm deep, with a 18mm void and internal depth of 304mm, while base cabinets are 570mm deep with a 49mm void and an internal depth of 513mm. ClicBox cabinets also feature solid top and bottom panels, which are fully interchangeable without the need of burdensome tools.

The ClicBox can be assembled up to five times quicker than normal flat pack cabinets Inset: Easy to assemble, you need no tools, glues or screws to create a kitchen carcass and has no visible fixtures

Production of ClicBox is situated at its factory in Rotherham, Yorkshire

annual guide 14 • kitchen & bathroom journal august 2017 Wood décors should appear as natural as possible. The latest development in this sector is Renolit’s Emboss In Register (EIR). With EIR designs the company has achieved a new level of perfection by developing this process that allows the embossed structure to exactly match the printed image. Renolit offers two designs combined with the authentic feel of EIR – the planked Gladstone Oak, which has a matching product from Egger, and the new highly elaborate ENDgrain décor that reflects the cross-section of freshly cut oak tree trunk and which is offered in a number of different shades.

W

ith 36 new colours and décor designs, Renolit has really put its motto of “Making Ideas Grow” into practice for its 2017 design introductions. In terms of print designs, the trend is still heading squarely in the direction of more realistic effects, which means further optimisation of patterns and textures. Oak remains a favourite for achieving the country house look, and wonderful printed designs are now complemented by advancing tactile surface finishes as embossing techniques are perfected.

Three new oak décors illustrate the stylistic diversity that Renolit has brought to its range. Characterised by years of weathering, the Grandson Oak décor is notched and cracked. Available in the colour combinations of White Grey and Natural, it radiates charismatic yet elegant style.

Kronberg also has a vintage feel. This planked oak was created with old railway sleepers as its inspiration. Years of sitting in the sun has caused the wood to become dried out, discoloured and cracked. Kronberg is available in Beige and Grey, and will lend some rustic charm to the living room, bedroom, kitchen or bathroom.

The Kendal Oak décor takes on a more elegant from. In the Natural Kendal Oak version with its brown tones, bud and branch stumps emphasise the natural evolution of timber. In the Oiled Kendal Oak, a gently contoured grain and slight red cast lend the elegant feel of oiled wood.

ood-based panels and laminate manufacturer, Egger, has picked up a string of major awards for its new 2017-2019 décor collection – most notably at Interzum in Cologne. Launched in February, its UK & Ireland Furniture Manufacturing Collection features 170 predominantly MFC décors, 114 of them with matching laminates available from stock. And with 44 new designs and two new textures it was an instant success. Authenticity is at the heart of the new collection – with an expanded range of 16 Feelwood décors, industry-leading deep woodgrain textures and synchronisedpore finishes. The collection is also strong on unicolours – rapidly becoming a dominant

force in the KBB and furniture sector. Neutral décors such as white and increasingly grey, in both cool or warmer tones, are widely represented – with new on-trend blue tones now available in a range of shades. What Egger calls its ‘matt concept’ has also created a lot of interest. Its premium PerfectSense gloss and matt lacquered boards, with the proven quality of an EGGER MDF core, are well-suited for residential and commercial applications. Complementing its PerfectSense Matt board, is a new Egger PerfectSense Topmatt laminate that it unveiled at Interzum. This shares the matt surface and anti-fingerprint features, but was developed for use on high-stress surfaces such as worktops and tables.

Kitchens, exclusive to PJH, relaunched earlier this year, unveiling a host of enhancements and range changes centred around both the stockist and the consumer, focussing on quality and price. The Collection continues to offer exceptional quality at mid-market prices, and this has been enhanced with a wider door range and additional worktops. The strapline, ‘Your Kitchen, Your Budget’ is central to the brand’s promise of offering an easy to understand pricing policy, illustrated in the current brand literature with ‘Good, Better and Best’ kitchen pricing options at values such as £1,500, £2,000, £2,500 and so on. The latest brochure has a new layout showing typical Galley, U and L-shaped kitchen scenarios making it easier for stockists and consumers to identify those kitchens that satisfy personal budgets, styles and interior layouts. Charlotte Mooney, Product Manager, said: “Our message, ‘Quality at a great price’ runs throughout our new and improved K Kitchens range. We researched the market, comparing like-for-like kitchen furniture brands, which highlighted that our K cabinet has a superior quality of build than competitors’ similar priced collections, based on 7 Key Quality Measures. For example, the 18mm carcase offers a very generous specification including features such as secure lock shelf systems, solid wooden dowel construction, 18mm solid back on base units, durable ABS cabinet edging (0.8mm) and spacious 330mm deep wall units.” K Kitchens has ensured that all components that make up its kitchens are manufactured to the highest standards, from hinges to handles and worktops to lighting. Cabinets and drawers offer luxurious soft close mechanisms as standard, and drawer boxes can take up to 30kg of weight or 50kg for the larger drawers.

The enhanced K portfolio includes an increased variety of door styles, with new ‘families’ of kitchens, offering wider choices to suit many budgets and décors. Pictured here is the Merino kitchen in White Matt and Lava Gloss

The Alaska kitchen family includes this sleek Cashmere Gloss door with integrated handle. All K Kitchens are backed with a 10-year quality guarantee on cabinets and doors

The K range includes many beautiful door styles and finishes, from contemporary to classic, including this shaker-style Bramley kitchen - a solid oak, 5-piece door

Above: The new Marmox Showerlay360 Drain, is fully rotatable to enable use in horizontal as well as vertical outlet connections – or any angle in between – for total flexibility. It can be utilised with both of Marmox’s Showerlay trays, which are tileable sloping bases for a shower area on either a wooden or concrete sub-floor. Two options are available: a 20mm or 24mm version Right: Work to complete the final phase of a luxury residential development at KingstonUpon-Thames has included the use of versatile high performance 6mm thick 1250 x 600mm Multiboards from the range of Marmox Limited. The fit out of the bathrooms within the one, two and three bedroom apartments in this third phase to Berkeley Group’s has been carried out by specialist sub-contractor, South Eastern Carpentry.

armox (UK) Ltd, part of the Marmox Group, provides competitive insulation and waterproofing products for use in the construction and refurbishment industries. With over 40 years of experience in design, manufacturing, specification and marketing of construction materials, the company’s policy is to respond positively to customers’ requirements and to meet their specific needs and specifications. In line with market demands and current trends, the compressive range has been built on the success of the original Marmox Board. As a tile backer board, it provides an effective decoupling layer to prevent tiles and grout from cracking. The unique patented surface allows tiles of a much heavier weight to be safely and securely fixed to walls. Being completely impermeable to water, the design is doubly useful in tiled areas prone to moisture such as kitchens and bathrooms where it can act as a moisture barrier protecting the walls and floor. The UK-based manufacturer also offers easy-to-install waterproof wetroom bases, shower channels and Showerstone, a solid shower base that can be laid directly onto floor joists without further support needed. It’s also strong enough to support a load of 600kg. A bath panel kit completes the lineup, offering a simple way to install bath panels. Easily cut to the correct length, the height is adjusted using the feet supplied. The panels are completely waterproof and ready to be tiled once fitted.

PWS has launched Alchemy, its new, classic kitchen brand. Alchemy defines what classic means to today’s consumers, following in-depth market and consumer research, coupled with an understanding of historical architecture and interior influences. Speaking directly with consumers and retail partners, PWS’ research revealed key information about the balance of classic elegance with functionality. A key indicator of the market review identified that classic style is no longer favoured solely by the older generation. Lizzie Beesley, PWS’ Strategic Design Manager comments, “The market is evolving and whilst there continues to be a place for designs with traditional links, there’s a strong move towards a classic look which is much calmer, more orderly with a modern interpretation. Alchemy is a considered collection of product, providing flexibility and detailing that enables retailers to tailor designs to meet their consumers’ expectations.”

The thin-door version of Hettich’s Sensys was a big draw at Interzum in Cologne. The ability to combine Sensys functionality with thinner profile doors is a very attractive proposition. It will be available in the UK within weeks. A black version of Sensys is another exciting development which Hettich UK will be able to supply later this year.

Flomate iBoost is the latest edition to Stuart Turner’s range of mains boost pumps which offer a variety of solutions to the issue of poor mains water pressure to a property. The fully integrated Flomate iBoost combines an impressive 200 litre cold water break tank which overcomes restricted mains water flow with a high performance multi-stage pump to dramatically boost pressure making it capable of delivering water up to 4.5 bar and flow rates in excess of 100 litres per minute, with a typical performance of 60 litres a minute at a very respectable 3.0 bar pressure. The results are better shower performance, higher flow rates from taps and in fact, multiple water using appliances throughout the property at any given time.
