Search Contribution continues to drive growth recording an additional 341,000 EUR vs 2018 +4.4% in addition to 4.9% uplift in RNs

Affiliates & META search has grown exponentially despite the volumes still being relatively smaller. 2019 was a positive year for Aff & MSE activities across the region.

Google Hotel Ads grew by 67.5% vs 2018 (comparable) due to increased visibility and investment driving an additional 165,000 EUR vs 2018.

Brand Web Acquisition recorded -31.3% deficits in RNs mainly due to Cart Abandonment which is an automated email reminder to book if you exit the checkout page – the reason is that New Web incorporates a different Cart Abandonment strategy.

Only 2 channels / sources declined on brand web The discontinued website www.radissonrewards.com was discontinued with the migration in June 2019 which sits under Radisson Rewards (Brand Web) in CRS causing a loss of traffic and reservations despite re-direction. Due New Web / Old Web, data via Adobe Analytics still can’t be effectively tracked. However Organic / SEO will remain a key channel. Our strategy includes growing traffic organically from high CVR markets with high basket values (AOV). Organic traffic is slightly recovering in MEA given the numerous efforts regionally, centrally, and via our agency. EXPO DUBAI 2020 will be a major SEO opportunity to capitalize on given the vast amount of content we can work with.

Google calls drive a significant amount of direct phone call reservations, an average of 1617 calls a day into MEA hotels in 2019 were generated. Calls generated are calls directly to hotels and not the RHG contact center. Significant efforts have gone into optimizing GMB profiles in 2019 to drive increased phone calls to our hotels.

Paid search has been an instrumental channel to mitigate SEO decline and overall brand web decline since the launch / migration from old to new web. We’ve invested significantly larger budgets in key feeder markets to drive the SEM lever of brand web production. Major audits have been taking place and increased bidding across important city level generic keywords such as “Hotels in Dubai “Hotels in Cape Town” have been prioritized.

What is WEGO? WEGO is Middle East and APAC’s largest META Search aggregator, with 37,000,000 searches happening in Saudi Arabia on WEGO. WEGO is essentially a rate aggregator and filters rates for both flights and hotels. Wego was one of the first aggregators to offer a full Arabic language experience which is why the presence in KSA is huge.

Why WEGO? 1- Middle Easts largest travel aggregator 2- Massive potential in KSA as a feeder to UAE due to the 37,000,000 searches taking place on WEGO in Saudi Arabia 3- Average CTR of 0.40 compared to 0.20 from other industry aggregators 4- Approx. What an incredible week!

In an age where the power of the social media influencer is undoubted and where travelers are inspired through stories, Radisson Hotel Group collaborated with 8 key influencers to develop a campaign to showcase the best of the UAE and Oman as a destination.

Instameet UAE was launched in 2018 and due to its success it was expanded to Oman in 2019.
