Kodak Announces Winners of Global Flexo Innovation Awards 12 of the best! Winners showcase innovation in creative use of graphic design, conversion from other printing processes, print production workflow improvement and commitment to sustainable printing Kodak has announced the winners of the Global Flexo Innovation Awards, which recognize and honor companies that, through innovation, are driving the industry transformation of flexographic standards worldwide. Almost 100 companies from 26 countries submitted over 200 entries to the Awards, which were introduced to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the launch of the KODAK FLEXCEL NX System and conceived as the first flexo printing awards to “look beyond the package” and evaluate the impact of submissions on the entire value chain. Pier Luigi Sassanelli, chairman of the independent judging panel, assembled an expert international team of flexo experts and global brands such as Procter & Gamble, Nestlé and Kimberly-Clark (see Editor’s Note below). With high quality considered a precondition, the panel judged entries against four categories of innovation excellence: creativity in graphic design; conversion from other print processes; workflow efficiency; and commitment to sustainability. Awards were divided into three classes: Silver (excellence in two categories), Gold (three categories) and Platinum (all four categories). Collectively, the entries represent game-changing packaging print production processes that embody that transformation of flexo. “I’m regularly asked, ‘What’s next on the agenda for flexo?’” said Chris Payne, President Flexographic Packaging Division, Kodak. “The future is clearly illustrated by the companies that have

been honoured with these awards and the great strides they have made in not only demonstrating that flexo is capable of the very highest print quality but that, more importantly they are driving efficient, consistent and sustainable manufacturing processes. We are proud to be their technology partner.” With an impressive overall standard for entries and a judging process that set a high bar for excellence, the panel gave seven Gold Awards and five Silver Awards, with four companies awarded the distinction of highest honors based on a numerical scoring system. No Platinum Awards were given on this occasion, clearly laying down the challenge and setting the goal for future events. Europe, North and South America, and South Asia provided the 12 winners. Italy produced a particularly strong showing, with three Gold Awards and one Silver Award.

Winners will receive their awards at a special Kodak celebration event in May. The full roll of honour is as follows: WINNERS WITH HIGHEST HONORS (in alphabetical order) Lorytex, Uruguay (Graphic Design, Workflow Efficiency and Sustainability) – Gold Lorytex’s expanded color gamut (ECG) solution delivered a 30% reduction in production time, reduced ink inventory and exceptional visual impact - all achieved on their client’s older, gearless printing press. Pentaflex Films LLP, India (Process Conversion and Sustainability) - Silver Salt is traditionally packaged in a PET+PE structure for ease of printability and quality of gravure printing on PET. The entry met the client’s request for a sustainable

solution by converting the job to a 100%-recyclable PE+PE flexo printed structure with no compromise in shelf appeal.

replaced dry offset printing with directto-container printing on rigid conical plastic containers using flexo.

Reproflex 3 & Roberts Mart, UK (Process Conversion, Workflow Efficiency and Sustainability) - Gold The quality and consistency flexo produced persuaded the client — a global brand — to switch from gravure to flexo, with prepress provided by Reproflex 3 using SpectRM/ Project Blue process.

Fotolito Veneta & Imball Center, Italy (Process Conversion and Graphic Design) - Silver A number of technical difficulties were overcome in converting coffee packaging from gravure to flexo. Fotolito Veneta and Imball Center matched the quality, reduced costs by 40% and cut time-to-market from 59 days to 37.

Z Due, Italy (Process Conversion, Workflow Efficiency and Sustainability) – Gold No less than eight of Z Due’s submissions were selected by the judges, a number that amply demonstrates the company’s enormous success in converting corrugated offset work to flexo (see Editor’s Note below for Z Due partner companies).

Imageworx, USA (Process Conversion and Graphic Design) - Silver 3D optics is traditionally an offset process. The Art of Magic stamp — the first US postal stamp ever printed flexo — was printed 16 months after Imageworx started R&D on 3D and optical illusion prepress for its printer customer, Banknote Corporation of America.

WINNERS (in alphabetical order) Bolsapel, Argentina (Graphic Design and Workflow Efficiency) - Silver Asked to produce a high-quality promotional product faster than the client’s gravure supplier could, Bolsapel’s radical solution — a shaped doypack printed with flexo — met the deadline and matched gravure for quality.

IsmaColor, Italy (Process Conversion, Graphic Design and Workflow Efficiency) - Gold Ismacolor is a prepress and printing company that has worked actively with brands to help them transition to eyecatching packaging printed alternatively on more sustainable substrates while reducing overall cost and time to market at higher or comparable quality.

CR Serigrafia, Italy (Excellence in Process Conversion, Workflow Efficiency and Sustainability) - Gold Working with client Esbe (member of the Piber Group), CR Serigrafia

Plastilene, Colombia (Process Conversion, Workflow Efficiency and Sustainability) - Gold Plastilene’s winning applications success builds on multiple aspects of

Pulse Media, UK (Process Conversion and Workflow Efficiency) - Silver For this application the brief from the brand was to match what was previously printed as a litho laminate case via flexo. On the print date, the brand signed off on the first print pull indicating an improvement in print quality and leading to another benefit for the printer in faster make ready. Steurs Graphic Solutions & Helios Packaging, Belgium (Process Conversion, Graphic Design and Workflow Efficiency) - Gold The client agreed to use flexo instead of gravure as long as the design and quality did not change. In the event, flexo outperformed gravure on most elements. For full details on the award winners, visit: www.kodak.com/go/flexoawards The judging panel for the Global Flexo Innovation Awards was totally independent and comprised experts in the packaging value chain from design to print production and sustainability. CGS expands its ORIS Solvent Media portfolio Three new Pouch Films are available to address the latest Mockup Trends Packaging prototypes are increasingly in demand to help developing design ideas and support the decision-making process. As a result, there are higher expectations regarding mockups, which are becoming more and more complex. This trend has been noticeable for some time in the US and UK, but is now extending to other European markets – especially among top brand owners. To perfectly meet the increasing demands on packaging samples and to even reproduce complex finishings quickly and cost-effectively, CGS has expanded its extensive media portfolio with three new types of materials.

In addition to the metallized pouch film, used, for example, for the production of snack food packaging, there are also white and transparent pouch films available (see table). All three materials can be directly printed, exhibit a large color gamut and are heat-sealable. The removable carrier foil makes it easy to handle in the printer. With these new inkjet films, most flexible packaging samples can be produced directly without the need for a transfer film. This is especially advantageous for large, thin foil packaging samples, where the previous approach often led to wrinkles. The new materials now provide additional generic substrates optimized for flexible packaging. The entire ORIS Solvent Media portfolio has been specifically developed to meet the particular

challenges of proof and prototype production for packaging, ranging from a various selection of transparent, aluminum and shrink foils to cardboard and the highly flexible ORIS Media Transfer Foil for printing on original substrates. All are characterized by a high ink limit and a fast drying time. In addition, the latest coating technology combined with an extensive quality control, guarantees consistent results and maximum quality. Common ink-jet materials developed for large format applications are mostly inadequate for the demands of the packaging market and typically exhibit low scratch resistance, color casts and batch-tobatch variations. In addition to high quality media for all types of packaging proofs and samples, CGS also produces the award-winning ORIS Flex Pack // Web system: "In

15 ORIS Flex Pack, all components – that means specially developed software, hardware, expanded gamut inks and the custom media portfolio –perfectly match each other. Therefore, it’s not surprising, that ORIS Flex Pack has become the defacto standard worldwide at leading brand companies, prepress houses and packaging printers. Proofs and prototypes of the most complex packaging and labels are being produced in perfect quality off the printing press,” commented Heiner Müller, CGS Key Account Director Europe. An overview of the entire ORIS Media portfolio and ORIS Flex Pack // Web is available on the CGS website.

EFI reaffirms comm At Connect 2019, Sha Jumari sat down with Frank Mallozzi, EFI’s Chief Revenue Officer, to discuss Asia Pacific, ecosystems, trends, and strategy. At the beginning of 2019, EFI announced it finally crossed the billiondollar revenue mark for the year ending 2018, after a low fourth quarter. The company reported a revenue of $1.02 billion, up 2% compared to $993.3 million in for the year at the close 2017. The Asia Pacific region reported a dip for Q4/2018 at $34.5 million versus $39.6 million in 2017. However, for the full year of 2018, Asia Pacific showed an increase at $147.3 million, compared to 2017’s $135.7 million. According to Frank Mallozzi, chief revenue officer of EFI, the company

has seen good intake for display, particularly for the display and wide format products, within Asia. “We’ve seen some really good response in the display market. We see the wide format growing in the market, particularly for the five meters. There’s been some demand for refreshing some of the existing technology that sits in Asia with the new technology,” said Mallozzi. According to Mallozzi, EFI’s hybrid products – that would be machines that are a hybrid of printing roll and flatbed technologies – have traction in Asia

Pacific. He pinpointed the new VUTEk h series. “We have in the line-up a couple of new platforms that we launched at the end of last year, the VUTEk h3 and h5. It’s a new product using LED technology, with 7 picoliter printheads and high quality imagery,” Mallozzi continued. The 3.2-metre wide hybrid printers offer resolutions up to 1,200 dpi. The h3 model offers maximum throughput of up to 74 boards per hour. The h5 model, which is available direct from EFI or as field upgrade to the h3 model, can produce up to 109 boards

mitment to Asia per hour. The h series consists of the h3 with three printheads, and the h5 with five printheads.

Frank Mallozzi, EFI’s Chief Revenue Officer

One of the key features of the h-series is its scalability: “If you want to switch to a four colour mode, it enables the customer to make that switch to serve different segments in the market. It’s also an important platform because the product is scalable. It can move upmarket as the customer needs grow with capacity issue. It’s very scalable,” said Mallozzi. Beyond display and wide format, there are increasing applications using thermoforming, which involves transforming materials to turn it into a 3D image. Mallozzi said he is also noticing applications evolve from leather printing.

“We’ve also had a tremendous amount of interest in APAC for corrugated and packaging. We see a huge opportunity for the Nozomi and its ecosystem,” said Mallozzi. “We’re learning a little bit about the corrugated space, where there are different segments where you may not need high quality, because its serving a different types of applications.” The EFI Nozomi C18000 is a singlepass digital inkjet corrugated packaging press capable of printing up to 10,000 boards per hour. Last year, Thai Containers Group Co., Ltd. (TCG) became the first in Asia to install the Nozomi. Based in Bangkok, TCG is one of Southeast Asia’s leading packaging providers. With the installation, TCG becomes a regional leader in full-scale, inkjet corrugated production.

“What we love doing is when we take a new technology to market, we lighthouse it, so we always find a great partner - and TCG is a great partner for us - and that enables us to understand the needs of the market,” said Mallozzi. “We're such an innovative company, that the innovation goes beyond finding the segment and trying to have a product fit. We want to understand the customer so we can make derivative configurations that really target the needs of the Asia Pacific market environments. TCG allow us to do that and we certainly have plans to bring on more.” When asked about EFI’s presence in Asia: “We’re in many of the markets in Asia, in Malaysia and Singapore we have a new focus in terms of go-to market. In Indonesia, we’re looking at a new number of resellers and partners and hoping to invest in that market in

resources. We’ve had some success in the Philippines.” “Japan has been terrific for us and we’re seeing some interest in all segments of wide format and packaging. Another market we’re going to focus on is in Korea. In Australia and New Zealand, we’ve made some investments in multiple channels and we have a dealer and direct operations there.” “When it comes to technology, there's not really a divide in the US, Europe, or Asia Pacific. I see a lot of global acceptance for technology and requirements. But I think the end customer requirements are often a little bit different,” said Mallozzi. “We want to get closer to the customer. We’ve had some nice successes, and for 2019, we’re going to benefit from all the work that we’ve done.”

5 key trends disrupting the paper and board market New research from Smithers Pira reveals the top disruptive trends that are having a profound effect on the paper and board market. The paper and board industry is diversifying and responding to an increasingly globalised marketplace. Global megatrends are reshaping the market faster than ever. Smithers Pira’s new report - Ten-Year Forecast of Disruptive Technologies in Paper and Board to 2028 – pinpoints the top 20 disruptive technologies that are impacting the evolution of the paper and board industry. Currently the worldwide supply of paper and board is almost 420 million tonnes. During the last 20 years China has taken the lead in terms of production volumes surpassing the US. In Europe the largest volumes are produced in Germany, Finland and Sweden. E-commerce E-commerce retail sales are continuing to rocket, with the US and China currently the two largest e-commerce markets. By 2020 it is estimated that around $355 billion of all retail sales in China will be conducted over e-commerce, and that over 15% of US sales will use this means in the same year. Internet shopping by consumers is a key driver to the demand for new packaging solutions. Consumer packaging – such as cartonboards – serves the needs of both on-the-shelf display and advertising and of the carriers of small-size goods. This trend is creating positive growth rates in the demand for corrugated boxes and its raw materials. Demand is growing for shorter lead times and for a commitment to next-day and increasingly, where feasible, same-day delivery services. This means packaging must be available immediately and in the best possible corrugated format. Big data Use of Big Data for different applications – marketing, sales, production optimisation and maintenance – is approaching Industry 4.0, which relies on connected devices, a large-scale deployment of versatile sensors and intelligent systems. Many key process control applications – such as online controls of basis weight, moisture and other

25 properties – have long been based on Big Data analytics collected from fast-running paper machines. Another example of this trend is the use of Big Data analytics in forestry operations to evaluate the growth and volume of harvestable trees for wood supply. Big Data analytics will become widely popular in all phases of the paper and board value chain during the next ten years. New innovations can be expected to evolve and reach further down the paper and board supply chain. Lightweighting Lightweight packaging boards offer multiple benefits depending on the end use. In luxury cartonboards lighter weight boards can improve brand value to major customers. It can also meet the demands of expanding a customer base, building on successful branding, and supporting business growth while increasing production capacity. Demand for lighter weight packaging board will continue to grow due to the many advantages it offers converters and end users. The principal gains from switching to a lighter weight board are: • Reduced pulp costs • Less weight in logistics, reducing

costs and CO2 emissions • Better pricing per tonne • Enabling more primary packs per pallet and shipment • Less weight at end of life. Intelligent/smart sensors Typical measurements in the pulp and papermaking process – flow, temperature, pH, consistency – are taken and fed back into the process control cycle. One way of advancing process controls is to develop and fit sensors with smarter built-in intelligence. In the evolution of industrial automation and control, instrumentation is getting smarter and the data generated at all levels of the production processes is increasingly available to improve quality, flexibility, efficiency and productivity. This would not be possible without smart sensors, which generate the data and allow further functionality from self-monitoring and self-configuration to condition the monitoring of complex processes, such as paper and board machines.

Across the next decade, the paper and board industry will feel the benefit of intelligent sensors in multiple applications in the mill – for example, when targeting reductions in downtime and breaks at paper and board machines. Recyclability Recyclability is becoming more of a key requirement for flexible and rigid consumer packaging products. When entering recycling streams many traditional waterproofing and oil/ grease-proofing barrier coatings are hard to remove economically and can lead to such packs being sent to landfill. Recyclable barrier coatings will develop fast over the next ten years, but costs will be a limiting factor. The pressures are mounting related to the recycling of plastic waste and the EU has set a target to collect and recycle 55% of all plastic packages by 2030. This creates a significant potential for new ways to reuse this recycled material for new products, such as recyclable barriers.

Its a game changer!! Next generation of sustainable food packaging safely printed with Xeikon dry toner digital technology Xeikon is delighted to announce its partnership with Kotkamills Oy. Visitors to this year’s Xeikon Café will have the opportunity to see the first demonstrations of the Xeikon 3500 dry toner digital press printing on Kotkamills ISLA® Duo paper cup stock. This sustainable and plastic-free food packaging solution carries the potential for paper cup converters to create new business opportunities. The cooperation validates Kotkamills ISLA® Duo paper cup stock as the ideal media for the Xeikon 3500 range using dry toner technology. Xeikon’s digital printing method using food safe dry toner technology together with Kotkamills’ plastic-free, recyclable, and biodegradable board produces a digitally printed paper cup that answers consumer demand for sustainable paper cups to be used for drinks on the go. Sébastien Stabel, Market Segment Manager Carton Packaging at Xeikon, says, "We were delighted to test and validate the new paper cup stock ISLA® Duo from Kotkamills. During testing, we saw a match between our food safe dry toner technology and the ISLA® Duo board characteristics. We tested printability, productivity, and toner adhesion. The results were excellent and consistent." Xeikon printed the Kotkamills ISLA® Duo on a roll-to-roll Xeikon 3500 series with dry toner technology. Following the excellent results, Xeikon added the ISLA® Duo to its print media list as a Xeikon validated substrate. Stabel continues, “We are convinced that our roll-to-roll dry toner engine set-up offers a perfect technical fit for paper cup converters and has the potential to create new or alternative business opportunities.” Kotkamills board production technology and the raw materials used

in the ISLA® Duo production offer a high stiffness cup with a smooth and pleasing tactility. The barrier properties needed for the paper cups are produced with water-based dispersion, making it a plastic-free alternative. Unlike traditional PE coated paper cups, the water-based dispersion barrier layer of the ISLA® Duo does not become charged by static electricity. This is the innovative key to achieving high printing speeds and excellent stackability properties. Saila Kettunen, Director Barrier Boards at Kotkamills Oy, states, “The cooperation with Xeikon in developing the high quality of digital printing of our ISLA® Board has been very smooth and fruitful. The suitability of our material for digital printing provides cup producers with the possibility to offer individual and smaller, customized batches of plastic-free paper cups that are easy to recycle within any paper or board waste streams. We consistently endeavour to bring our best know-how

and experience to our innovations. At Kotkamills, we are passionate about changing the game, and we are proud to have been nominated as one of the winners of the NextGen Cup Challenge, the global innovation initiative that took place at the end of February 2019. This groundbreaking challenge was launched by the NextGen Consortium dedicated to advancing the design, commercialization, and recovery of food packaging alternatives.” Stabel concludes, “By working together with leading suppliers in substrates, workflow, converting, and finishing we effectively demonstrate what can be achieved by fully integrated end-toend solutions for digital production. At the Xeikon Café 2019, we will share actual applications and business ideas that have proven to immediately drive business growth. We are delighted to be working with Kotkamills as our partner and we are looking forward to piquing the interest of our visitors in this gamechanging solution.”

Getting rid of film static issues A major producer of biaxally orientated polypropylene (BOPP) film applications, Cumbria-based Innovia Films is a global leader in markets for high performance coated film, tobacco overwrap, labels and security films. Employing 1100 people worldwide and with production sites in Australia, Belgium, Mexico and the UK, Helping the business fulfil these qualities is a series of Meech 935 long range blowers, which remove static from the BOPP film as it winds on Innovia’s slitter-rewinder systems. The blowers ensure that the film lies smoothly on the reel, has a clear and untainted finish, and does not pose a hazard to operators. A major producer of biaxally orientated polypropylene (BOPP) film applications, Cumbria-based Innovia Films is a global leader in markets for high performance coated film, tobacco overwrap, labels and security films. Employing 1100 people worldwide and with production sites in Australia,

Belgium, Mexico and the UK, Innovia prides itself on high quality, added value products, strong customer relationships and excellent service. Helping the business fulfil these qualities is a series of Meech 935 long range blowers, which remove static from the BOPP film as it winds on Innovia’s slitterrewinder systems. The blowers ensure that the film lies smoothly on the reel, has a clear and untainted finish, and does not pose a hazard to operators.

These impressions on the BOPP film could remain once the reel is unwound, impacting on final product appearance and leading to product rejection, increasing wastage and downtime. “If the ribbing is severe, tightly wound rolls can experience shrinkage, which often means they need to be disposed of,” continues Cox. “In other cases, rolls need to be unwound and then rewound again but at slower than normal speeds, causing costly delays.”

Innovia adds highly specialised, innovative surface coatings and metallised finishes to their products according to customer requirements. These films are typically sold to converters, brand-owners and endusers across the globe. They become part of the packaging, labelling or overwrap solution for some of the world’s best known brands across a wide variety of everyday consumer goods, including chocolates, perfume, teabags, shampoo, cigarettes, soft drinks and biscuits.

To counter the generation of static on the BOPP film, Innovia relies on Meech’s 935 long range blowers – 20 of which are currently in place in its Wigton factory. The blowers are mounted on the floor facing up towards the nip of the reel, neutralising both sides of the film as it rewinds into a full reel. This prevents ribbing and other effects that hamper its ability to form a neat and uniform roll.

As part of its manufacturing practices, slitter-rewinder machines take prominent place in Innovia’s Wigtonbased factory. The rolls of BOPP film are processed on the re-wind of the three metre machines, but during the winding process into a full reel, static can be generated on the film’s surface. “Polypropylene readily generates static throughout our process – elimination of this is essential,” says Neville Cox, Engineering Maintenance Manager at Innovia Films. “Without eliminating the static charge, the rolls of film can prove hazardous during later processing. What’s more, the film may not lay smoothly onto the reel, resulting in ribbing and other effects on its surface.”

Easy to integrate, the 935 blower provides powerful, high volume, effective long range ionisation over a large target area. This is ideal for Innovia’s BOPP film production, as it is vital that the moving turrets on its slitter-rewinder machines are not impeded by surrounding equipment. “The Meech 935 long range blowers have been very useful in eliminating static at the crucial point of winding – when our polypropylene films are made into rolls,” continues Cox. “Any solution must be able to provide ionisation from a sufficient distance so it does not impact on the moving turrets. Meech’s 935 blowers offer just that.”

A real need for creat new solutions

An interview with Patrick Lüdecke from Flint Group ITS How do you see the market today? What makes sleeves interesting? Looking at the flexo market today, we still see some interesting growth for the coming years. Along with that, we also see some of the same challenges from the last years, but with the additional requirement of taking everything to the next level. This can be tough, so there is a real need for creativity coupled with new solutions. At Flint Group, with rotec® sleeves and adapters, we see six main challenges for the printer, and we have specifically developed products and new technology to address these issues and provide solutions to the flexo market. In my eyes, every product that helps to solve problems should create a certain interest, shouldn’t it? What are these six challenges for the flexo printing market today? More and more important in today’s society is the improved health and safety of employees. The rest of the challenges facing printer’s today are more related to profitability. Decreasing job lengths come from the brand owners and results in an increasing

number of job changes. What can be done to make the job changes faster and increase the overall productivity? How can productivity be increased while further improving overall print quality? How can the printer decrease costs?

Simple product cost is one thing, but how much additional value a product can bring to the table should also be evaluated. The cost for other expenses, like compressed air or compressible tape, can be reduced with the right sleeve/adapter. Speeding up presses and job changeover time, increases

productivity. Increase productivity and customers can increase capacity for additional jobs, and ultimately improve profitability. At Flint Group with rotec® sleeves and adapters, we want to help our customers stretch and optimize the machinery (faster, cleaner, more exact) to its limits, while conserving the human resources (easier, less lifting & effort) to extend productivity into the future. According to our principle Better. Faster. Easier to use. What can a sleeve or adapter really do? Isn’t it just a consumable for flexo printing? No, looking at sustainability, there is real value in a sleeve/adapter with a long life. Conserving materials, but also simplifying the process, new technology sleeves and adapters can be a driver in the process and provide solutions to meet the changing needs of the printer. Some customers may see sleeves and adapters as a “consumable”, but I believe a change in perspective is useful. There are innovative, state-ofthe-art sleeves and adapters that are not just products, but long-lasting tools and an investment.

How can rotec® sleeves and adapters meet the changing needs in the industry? At Flint Group, the rotec® sales and product development teams have been customer-oriented to specifically develop solutions for these flexo market challenges. All our new products offer solutions to these challenges to make printing better, faster, and easier. Let me highlight the two most innovative of these developments. For example, the patented rotec® Eco Bridge revolutionized the air supply system for adapters. This allows significantly improved health and safety for the operators by reducing noise by up to 99% to safe decibel levels, which no longer require hearing protection. In addition, significantly easier sleeve mounting lessens the work effort needed by the operators. Faster sleeve mounting also allows for an increased number of job changes and therefore, increased productivity. Substantially less compressed air volume and pressure is needed for mounting sleeves on the Eco Bridge, consequently reducing costs. A second example of customer solutions provided by new rotec® technology is the rotec® Smart

Family of sleeves (rotec® Smart Sleeve and rotec® Smart Premium Sleeve). Improved health and safety requirements are achieved by using new lighter, mechanically durable materials in the construction of the sleeves. When operators are able to lift up to 30% less weight, human resources are conserved and workers stay healthier. The base sleeve was also optimized with easy-mount technology, so job changes can be faster. Performance tests in the field indicate an average of 30% higher press speeds are possible, especially with challenging designs with hard edges that tend to bounce – further providing improved print quality, increased overall press productivity, and reduction of costs. With so many benefits for the customer. If I were a printer, why should I buy rotec® sleeves and adapters? Innovative and market-oriented new technology is one reason, but beyond that is the enthusiasm and knowledge of the rotec® team. Through cooperation and teamwork with the customer, the rotec team listens to customer needs and works towards finding the solutions needed to get rotec® customers to the next level of quality and productivity.

Low defect vacuum metallizing from the BOBST K4000 CRUCIBLE The new BOBST K4000 CRUCIBLE gives a 90%* reduction in the number of pinholes and provides a repeatable, reliable performance using proven manufacturers for all critical equipment. The K4000 CRUCIBLE is based on the successful and cost effective K4000 platform with the advantage of crucible technology which produces low defect metallized film. The machine can metallize a wide variety of materials including Aluminium (Al), Silver (Ag) , Copper (Cu) and Zinc sulfide (ZnS) for a variety of applications including high barrier food packaging and yarn manufacture. The K4000 CRUCIBLE does not compromise on web speed running at a maximum of 840m/min. BOBST innovation with a crucible source The source which employs crucible technology provides excellent deposition quality and uniformity. The source is fully water cooled and the design ensures ease of cleaning. The consumable costs involved in running

the crucible machine are also lower due to the low cost of the metal ingots in comparison to wire. The large Ă˜600mm coating drum allows for increased film wrap which provides better film cooling efficiency. The drum provides the largest coating window in its class in the industry allowing increased collection efficiency by 16%. Superior winding The machine incorporates the re-

nowned BOBST winding mechanism from the K5 range of equipment with minimum roller contact and true tension control using load cells for virtually wrinkle-free film. The 6 drive system consists of 6 independently driven motors which give 3 independent tension control zones allowing the operator to control accurately the web flatness at critical points in the machine. The positioning of the unwind and rewind rolls allows for easy access and roll loading/ un-loading on the same side of the machine. The machine is designed for handling heat stable (PET) and heat sensitive substrates (CPP) and as such is fitted with a cooling drum and post cooling roller as standard. To increase web cooling, a further gas wedge air injection system is fitted to the machine to improve heat transfer from the web to the cooling drum. Ease of operation The K4000 CRUCIBLE is easier to set up for the operator and consequently easier for less experienced operators to run whilst still giving good results on defects and coating uniformity. The machine can also be fitted with the BOBST Hawkeye optical density monitoring and defect detection system.

A Day in the Life of a rec What came first ‘the chicken or the egg’ or in a recruiters day….what comes first ‘the client or the candidate’ ? As we work from a home office, my husband and I are usually sat at our desks by 7.30/8am latest, having had breakfast and made sure our son makes it safely onto his school bus. We exchange a family saying every morning to each other, which is ‘it’s nice to be important, but it’s important to be nice’. It’s a great, positive way to start each day. When we have a busy, productive day at work, it makes us all feel good, and it doesn’t feel like work. Good vibes are contagious. We feel that way about what we do every day, do you? Each day at Mood Group provides us something different. Every day is varied and variety is the spice of life, which keeps us pleasantly on our toes. Our days are structured, depending on our priorities and work in hand. We always like to catch up with the latest news from across our territories and in the sectors, we operate in. We like to keep abreast of who is doing what, where from various trade Magazines, Industry feeds and social media links. We feel it is paramount to keep ourselves abreast of our industry and territories. Knowledge is power and we like to understand how shifts in the market could affect us, our candidates, colleagues and our clients. Mood Group has been in business for 10 years and we feel fortunate that we have embraced all that technology allows us now. Smart phones enable us to communicate efficiently with our colleagues, clients and candidates, across the world in different countries and time zones. Our CRM system allows our candidates and clients to follow and track their progress if they wish remotely, either with an assignment or checking their job application status. The team that we work with are spread around the world and we regularly communicate and

collaborate, sharing information and updates. This ensures we leverage our data for the benefit of our customers and candidates alike. As recruiter’s and head-hunters, we spend much of our day communicating. Words are our business and there is no substitute for the human touch. Some of our daily tasks include but are not limited to… talking with our colleagues, clients, candidates, suppliers, following up, making introductions, connecting, confirming, interviewing, reading, checking, chasing, encouraging, evaluating, preparing candidates for interview, negotiating, providing feedback, updating, preparing documents, writing adverts, reviewing CV’s, planning interviews, writing blogs and learning lots and lots every day. We are all always learning but for us being an International company, we get to learn about different cultures, customs and behaviours, which continually fascinates us. We, like many professionals spend thousands of hours a month reading information. It helps if you can read and interpret data fast. How that information is processed and handled can change lives in our business, so it must be treated carefully and with respect. Confidentiality is crucial to us at Mood Group and we are also GDPR compliant. The General Data Protection Regulation is new legislation set out to protect and provide transparency in collecting, storing, processing and managing personal data. This is all covered in our candidate privacy agreement. Mood Group provide advanced security to their candidates and are all in favour of trading lawfully and fairly, especially in protecting personal data.

It goes without saying, that it greatly helps recruiters when documents are set out clearly, especially CV’s. They should always be honest, with no date gaps, that fully explain exactly what skills and experiences have been attained and achieved. Your CV is your unique brochure to the world, make sure it reads easily and provides a good summary of highlights throughout your career so far, along with a good introductory covering letter. Sell yourself and all your good work, to ensure you are selected for interview, this is your chance and lefts face it, no one else is going to do it for you. Unfortunately, as recruiters we are sometimes faced with badly laid out, inaccurate CV’s. Help the recruiter and yourself, by presenting a great first impression. Read the job description carefully, and give yourself some time. Tailor your CV accordingly to give yourself the best chance possible. Also, if you advise

cruiter/head-hunter sectors across the World. This has taken 10 years of consistent, commitment and hard work by all. My husband and I spent 16 years, collectively in the Middle East and it will always hold a special place in our heart. We like to discuss and make sure we are not just ticking a box to say, that person can do the job well. People are unique and there is always a certain chemistry which needs to be balanced to create a good fit for our clients and candidates alike. This is what we strive for, for our customers and candidates. To bring the right people together isn’t just trial and error. We are only as good as our last assignment after all.

Mood Group of your preferences, the areas you prefer to work and have most experience in, together with some information regarding which locations/counties in the world you might be interested in working, we will be happy to contact you/send you alerts immediately, to any new jobs that we receive in the future, which might be of interest to you. In our business, we prefer to stay close to our technology. When our customers/candidates call, we can respond very quickly. We prefer to keep business travel to minimum and loose swathes of time waiting in airport lounges. This way we are always available to all, and can keep Mood Group fee’s very reasonable. This isn’t always the case but most preferable, especially with technology the way it is. Our search strategy for the best talent, depends on the position we are recruiting for. Initially we like to

select a polished shortlist of potential candidates which we present to our customers for their consideration. Mood Group has built up one of the largest specialised databases in Print, Packaging & Industrial Processing

If not, enough quality candidates are available by using this method, we will start the process or initial searches through our extensive networks and contacts. If we still feel, we are not exactly hitting the mark for our customer, we start to head-hunt and put out feelers into the market and communicate with our passive candidates whom might be interested to know of a new opening/opportunity. We spend hours building relationships with potential customers and candidates alike. After all, most hard-

working, successful professionals are in employment all the time. However, we all never know what is around the corner for us. We both have first-hand experience of being made redundant. It can be at this difficult time that you need and want your recruitment partner to swing into action, with words encouragement and constructive advice. You never know when you might need them, so keep them close.

Through our own efforts and of the team, we market Mood Group daily, on various platforms to as many individuals and companies as we can. Spreading the word about who we are, what we do, how we do it and where. Proactively searching for new customers is an on-going activity which forms part of our daily tasks. Updating, adding and cleaning our database of candidates and clients is also an on-

As a recruiter, you can do everything correctly, but sometimes situations can change at the final hurdle, for so many reasons too numerous to mention. I have often said one day we should write a book about this subject alone! As we are in the people business, every situation and person is unique. You must be resilient and diplomatic and take the knocks along the way. Sometimes candidates get better offers and who can blame them in taking the best option for themselves and their families. A true professional will start all over again and have the confidence in their ability to satisfy the customer. No matter how you feel, you must get up, dress up, show up and never ever give up. This can be disappointing too for customers, who have invested time partnering with the recruiter to select the best candidate for the role. If they have found the perfect candidate and wish to offer them employment, and do not move fast enough to provide

51 the offer and secure them into their team, sometimes candidates go elsewhere. Good candidates don’t grow on trees and will only wait so long for decisions to be made. Being a recruiter is diverse and interesting. There will be ups and downs along the way. But having positive impacts on professional’s careers, can be hugely rewarding. When these relationships develop, and grow, so does your network and good reputation. When leaders of businesses, along with movers and shakers, start coming to you for advice, it is a hugely rewarding part of the work. When Mood Group are given chances to prove their professionalism, especially in difficult situations we thrive. With no commuting for us, we can fit in extra working hours and in a more flexible, efficient way. It goes without saying the more hours you put in, the more you will get out. You reap what you sow. If a jobs worth doing, it’s worth doing well.

Thermal like you’ve never seen before

So, in answer to the initial question, who should come first the candidate or client? We believe they are both equally important. We put as much focus and energy into both parties and sometimes feel like marriage brokers, bringing together 2 parties who previously had no knowledge of each other. Before we know it, its 4pm when our son returns from his day of ‘learning and communicating’ at school. But for us, our technology allows us to be open 24/7 and be on hand for any last-minute details, especially before interviews take place. In the back-ground though there are other tasks of an administrative nature which takes our time. Ensuring we provide a high level of service to all. Maintaining and updating a website, database, accounts, supplier correspondence, mailing new job alerts to our candidates, sending out Invoices and credit control. At Mood Group, we believe our supply chain is very important, and who also require our attentions to maintain good working relationships. As recruiter’s, we are continually building on our reputation, our portfolio of potential clients and candidates. It’s a bit like running your own business. If you have always dreamed of owning your own business, irrespective of your location, have a good reputation in your industry, a strong network of connections and are resilient, diplomatic, determined and self-disciplined we would be pleased to hear from you, regarding a Mood Group licence. 4 Ways Custom Packaging Can Be a Game Changer Packaging sometimes may be referred to as “the silent salesman”. The packaging you choose will have to portray the right image, and position the product in such a way that creates the best decision making opportunities for the customer. Custom packaging with your brand’s message will unquestionably deliver an unboxing experience worth sharing. Customers usually do not have the time to sit and weigh the pros and cons of the product in their shopping carts. They’re more likely to make a purchase because of the way it is packed. Great packaging also makes the shopper buy more, because – for instance – they know their product will be safe: be it food, clothing or electronics. Long story short: Packaging is as important as the product itself. Good packaging would help your customers feel an emotional attachment to your brand. Making it a daily activity to show your appreciation for the customers who use your products transcends into a meaningful relationship. But this is not all: You can also make an impression with packaging supplies! Here are 4 ways that help you leave a mark on your customers: 1. Use Packaging Inserts It is usually cheaper to retain your current customers than constantly acquiring new ones. Companies can communicate a strong brand message by including packaging inserts like a hand-written thank you note.

Resonating with your audience through your company’s voice and positioning will lift your performance in a crowded marketplace. For instance, a lot of bloggers today are sent PR packages that come with packaging inserts and they like to share their unboxing experience with their viewers. This is a great way for companies to showcase their packaging on a large scale. 2. Printing Your Boxes with Custom Stamps Printing your own boxes with custom stamps will be a great way to increase the appearance of your packing boxes. But minimalist packaging can also be a good choice. The advantage: The less material you use to make your packages, the less you will have to spend on the material. Minimal packaging is also lighter and if you have to ship your products over long distances, their weight can make a big difference. 3. Make Use of Stickers Make use of stickers on your packaging as they are low-cost and yet have the power to create a splendid unboxing experience. A well-designed sticker is a simple addition that transforms your brand and gets people talking about you. Packing tapes are a super affordable option, e.g., for start-ups

or small and medium-sized businesses aiming to take their products to the next level. So it helps you ensuring that your products stand out from competitors. Besides, it gives your packaged product a professional brand presence. 4. Put Your Logo on Your Bags A strong logo is the birth of your company’s branding and conveys your business vision. It can easily grab the attention of shoppers and communicate a company’s core values right. A well-thought placement of your logo also evokes positive feelings of brand superiority. This is especially true for companies that show their product’s purpose. For instance, using an image that is placed in the left corner lets the brand appear of top quality. They lead to a better brand recall and are an ideal placement, where the eye is naturally drawn. Packing supplies are more than just a requirement. It’s an important part of your customer’s experience. Poor packaging can also lead to a bad shopping experience and even if the product is good, the packaging is what your customer receives first. Moreover, making use of these strategies can add to your brand’s recognition and give your business a lift.

Digitizing Packaging Processes Helps Big Players to Keep up with Innovative Craft Brands In order to compete with the innovative strength of craft brands, big FMCG companies have to fundamentally revise their way of operating manufacturing processes. Especially when it comes to packaging production, digitization will be key to further drive their growth. From an economic point of view, craft brands benefit from their usually high online affinity combined with a strong e-commerce presence and the fact that they’re really quick in creating and launching new products due to their agile principles. When it comes to product development projects bigger companies need much more time until rollout due to processes that aren’t digitized yet or many departments being involved in the approval process, for instance. All too often, this results in cancelled projects in the end since the product wouldn’t be trendy by the time they’re ready.

When marketers and advertisers working for craft brands search the internet for tips on how to catch up with big players, they’ll have many hits in their search engine results, for sure. But one thing that will be quite hard to achieve is the trust benefit consumers associate with well-known brands – not to mention the emotional bond and memories. After all, 57 per cent of consumers in developed markets say they prefer buying new products from brands familiar to them. Nevertheless, the innovative power of smaller brands often outperforms FMCG companies. So the latter have to look for ways to prove their ingenuity and flexibility. Connecting packaging technologies via digital tools might be the answer.

Missing Authenticity, Speed and Flexibility This is even more crucial since famous brands with proven products experienced growth of only 0.7 per cent from 2012 to 2016 which is 7 per cent less compared to the years between 2006 and 2011 whereas craft brands are constantly growing. A reason for that development is probably that craft brands often have a narrow target audience they know and understand very well enabling them to engage them with personalized experiences and satisfy their customer’s demand for products with a strong sense of purpose. Additionally, consumers more and more care about the circumstances of production which are easier to retrace at a smaller brand.

Digital Tools Benefit Familiar Brands to Increase their Speed-toMarket But how exactly can time be cut out of new product launch plans? Digital tools simplify cross-functional work, especially when it comes to packaging processes. Web-based packaging management systems allow brands to: - create new packaging concepts using virtualization tools resp. designing digital assets other departments (e.g. marketing and packaging) can access from anywhere, - automate quality inspection such as proofreading in all stages along the value chain, - update packaging files simultaneously when changes are made, - inform all affected employees about new files and changes, for example. Long story short: Using integrated systems streamlines interdivisional coordination, speeds up processes and ensures transparency.

Spicers sold to Japan’s KPP in A$147.6 million scheme Spicers Limited announced that it has entered into an agreement binding Scheme Implementation Deed with Kokusai Pulp & Paper Co., Ltd. (“KPP”), under which KPP would acquire all of the shares in Spicers. Under the scheme, Spicers shareholders will receive an estimated A$147.6 million, or 7.0 cents per share, on a fully diluted basis.
Spicers will propose a return of capital to shareholders, covering distributions from sales of the Asian operations, expected proceeds from the sale of properties in Singapore and Tasmania, and surplus ‘net cash’ amounts as at 30 June 2019. Spicers recently announced that Spicers Paper (Singapore) Pte Ltd has now entered into an agreement for the sale of its property at a value of SGD 10.1 million. The property is located at 3 Gul Crescent, Singapore 629519. KPP was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in June 2018, and has significant Japanese and overseas

business operations focused on paper, packaging and other peripheral products. Group sales are JPY377.7 billion, with 956 staff employed across 26 sites globally. Freshness Alert! A New Fridge Container Tag Signals the Food’s Freshness A tech startup from Chicago launched their Smarterware system which turns an ordinary fridge into a smart one. The system shall help to cut wasting food and money by tracking the food inside the fridge before it spoils. Almost 50 percent of the food we buy and bring home are thrown away afterwards. Ovie, a tech startup from Chicago, now launched their Ovie Smarterware system that shall help to stop wasting food by tracking the food inside the fridge before it spoils. This system turns an ordinary fridge into a smart one that knows what’s in it and how fresh the product is. Furthermore, the integrated apps can send notifications about the food’s status and give recipe ideas, for example. To improve the user’s food

tracking and consumption the system also sends a personalized recap every month to their smartphones. Still Great But Don’t Wait – How the Container Tags Work The product line consists of Smart Tags, 6-cup containers, clips, and universal connectors that attach to any container in a fridge. The Smart Tags are removable, waterproof and have a light ring that signals the state of the food. The light starts off on green, meaning it’s fresh and safe to eat, then turns yellow to show it’s still okay but should be eaten soon and turns red when it’s time to better throw it away. Additionally, the user can integrate Alexa and other smart home hubs, recipe apps, and grocery apps to keep tracking everything tagged. The app sends reminders to the user’s smartphone when the food is about to go bad and provides tips on how to eat it or provides them with recipe ideas which integrate other tagged items in the fridge. It even connects with grocery apps to allow the user to order missing ingredients to complete a recipe. “People Don’t Want to Waste All of This Food – It Just Happens” Ty Thompson, the co-founder and CEO of Ovie, explained, that we end up throwing away a large amount of food simply because we forget that we

57 still have it. That’s why Ovie created a system that is very simple to use and brings a more mindful approach to food storage. With notifications sent to the phone, the system helps to know what’s still in the fridge and can be used. Monthly recaps celebrate wins, offer tips based on personal consumption trends, and share how, together with the rest of the Ovie network, they’re reducing food waste. What an innovative idea to cut food waste! Taking packaging to the next level at drupa 2020 Whether it is for food, beverages, healthcare, business or home, the motto is to transform packaging. Changing demographics, more pressure to better serve the environment and accelerations in technical innovation are all shaping a new future for packaging production. Touchpoint packaging initiative’s main goal is to display how innovative printing technologies contribute to the future of packaging. In this fast-changing world, drupa touchpoint packaging will deliver an inspiring and amazing experience to all visitors. During the latest steering committee meeting in December 2018, its members AGFA, BOBST, DANONE, ESKO, HEIDELBERG, HP, KURZ, NESTLÉ, SIEGWERK and EPDA (European Packaging Design Association) defined more than 20 projects that will touch upon key issues such as customisation and personalisation, digitalisation, security and authentication. The aim is to present concepts and the latest knowledge about new packaging production, finishing technologies and substrates - culminating in prototypes that meet the demands and needs of both future consumers as well as brand owners. In addition, the visitor experience will combine physical and non-physical packaging elements via augmented reality, virtual reality and digital workflows. Over the 11 days of drupa visitors will be able to listen to keynotes, attend

roundtables, engage with specialists and literally touch the newest and most innovative packaging solutions that enable brand owners, packaging designers and packaging converters to meet the requirements of the next decade. To extend the already broad range of perspectives that feed into touchpoint packaging, we are pleased to announce the new advanced partners joining the drupa touchpoint packaging initiative: BST ELTROMAT, CLOUDLAB, DALIM, EFI, KODAK, KOENIG & BAUER. KONICA MINOLTA, SAUERESSIG, WERK II and MERCK. Furthermore, drupa has formalised an agreement with NABA, International Academy of Art, Design and Fashion. A handpicked group of their talented international students will add their insights and creativity to the steering committee member-driven projects

plus present their own ideas and design concepts for tomorrow’s packaging. Patrizia Moschella, course leader of Graphic Design and Art Direction BA at NABA, is convinced that her students’ involvement is a win-win situation from several viewpoints: “It is certainly a great opportunity for the students to both network within the industry as well as to bring in their own fresh, engaging and researchbased ideas for new packaging solutions.” If you would like to hear directly from our steering committee members about their vision and motivation for their contribution to the touchpoint packaging, please have a look at the interviews at www.drupa.com/tpp-en. 60 streamlines operational cost. In terms of quality, the oil produces a film on the applicator roller, which drastically reduces the risk of ink picking and ensures a consistent, premium product. As Henry Ford once said, “If you always do what you always did, you’ll always get what you always got”. In other words, unless you’re willing to step-out of your comfort zone and think outside the box, you’ll always find yourself restricted by the same bottlenecks. Silicone is a base material used to facilitate the production of everyday items across a vast range of industries including, medical, household electrical and many more. The rising cost of electricity in China, a major global provider, plus the price of crude oil, means silicone suppliers are finding that their profit margins are being squeezed. This, along with increasing pressure to meet growing global demand, has seen the price of silicone soar by over 50%. For print providers, the situation is no different. Silicone is frequently used as a lubricant in the print process, remoistening paper, protecting from friction and ensuring print quality is maintained at a consistently high level. Silicone is an essential part of the process and often accounts for large expense in the business, with large offset lines spending around €100k on silicone a year! Any increase can see material costs escalate and hit margins hard. A number of forward-thinking print providers are seeking alternative solutions to safeguard their businesses. Answers come in various forms including the integration of an all-in-one silicone applicator and remoistening system such as the Contiweb Fluid Applicator (CFA). Typically, companies would have two separate devices in each press line – each with a sole purpose, one to apply

the silicone and one remoisten the substrate. Designed as a standalone system, the CFA combines both functions in one and adds the unique ability to create the mixture directly in the system. This allows print providers to reduce their hardware costs and streamline their workflow. From a consumable perspective, systems like the CFA can unlock huge savings. Conventional systems use a silicone emulsion. This ready-made mixture is often very expensive and can see consumable costs escalate. In contrast, the CFA uses a pure silicone oil. This high-grade raw material ensures that print providers only need to mix a small amount with water and surfactant before being applied. The oil lasts much longer than an emulsion and provides a more cost-effective solution, as silicone consumption is reduced. In fact, systems like the CFA can see print providers reduce silicone consumption by more than 80% while securing them a financial saving of more than 60%! Beyond cost savings, the use of silicone oil also offers additional quality and workflow advantages. Take for example the lubrication: the silicone oil outputs large drops of oil which are slowly absorbed by the substrate compared to the fine droplets of a silicone emulsion. This means that less oil is required to achieve a good lubrication and further

Heidelberg steps up activities in packaging market and gains potential strategic anchor shareholder Masterwork Group Co., Ltd. from China aiming to use capital increase to obtain a stake in Heidelberg Increase in equity ratio set to improve Heidelberg balance sheet Sales partnership dating from 2013 being taken to next level in growing packaging printing segment Closer production collaboration set to boost efficiency (Heidelberg) is looking to further improve its market position in the growing packaging printing segment by taking its long-standing sales partnership with Masterwork Group Co., Ltd. (Masterwork), China’s largest manufacturer of die-cutters and hotfoil embossing machines, to a whole new level. Based in the Chinese city of Tianjin, Masterwork is to obtain around 8.5 percent of the Heidelberg share capital under a cash capital increase from authorized capital excluding shareholder subscription rights. The implementation of such capital measure is subject to approval by Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG's supervisory board. The proposed capital increase provides the opportunity for Heidelberg to acquire a further strategic anchor shareholder with a long-term investment horizon as well as to strengthen its equity. Subject to approval by the relevant bodies on both sides and the Chinese authorities, the capital measure should provisionally take place by the end of the first calendar quarter of 2019. The issue price of the new shares is set to be EUR 2.68. If the market price significantly outstrips the

“The Heidelberg Management Board and Supervisory Board are delighted that our long-standing, successful collaboration with Masterwork is to become much closer. This opens up further potential in the growing packaging printing segment, especially in China – the world’s largest individual market. We are expecting better capacity utilization at our plants across the globe to make us far more efficient, but I would like to stress that this will not weaken our sites in Germany. We are delighted that in Masterwork we are obtaining another long-term investor that firmly believes in the company’s innovative prowess, strategy, and potential for the future,” comments Heidelberg CEO Rainer Hundsdörfer. “Heidelberg is our ideal partner for jointly leveraging growth potential in the packaging printing market. The stake we are obtaining in this longestablished company and world market leader underlines that we are in it

for the long haul and are confident Heidelberg has adopted the right strategy,” says Masterwork President Li Li. Building on leading market position in growing packaging printing segment Heidelberg and Masterwork, which is listed on China’s Shenzhen stock exchange, have operated a close postpress partnership for a number of years, turning print products into folding cartons for the packaging market. The funds Heidelberg generates with the capital increase are to be used to accelerate its digital agenda (digitizing products, processes, and business models, for example) and for general business financing. Masterwork supports the Heidelberg strategy and is demonstrating its clear commitment to long-term collaboration. Heidelberg is currently considering and discussing whether it will seek to obtain a shareholding in Masterwork.

The possibility of linking Masterwork’s postpress machines to the Heidelberg cloud is a big advantage when it comes to realizing the value proposition of using production data to boost customers’ productivity. Packaging printing is expected to enjoy aboveaverage growth in the coming years. Heidelberg already holds a leading position in this segment in Europe and the Americas, while Masterwork is one of China’s leading postpress suppliers for packaging. The closer ties are set to significantly strengthen this position in China – the world’s largest packaging market – and in other regions, too.
