Going on leave?
Here are some tips to ensure your data is kept safe and your return to campus next year is hassle free.
Digital Housekeeping
❖ Back up your data
Before you go on leave, make a data backup, and put it somewhere secure. See the step-by-step instruction for backing up your data
❖ Take care of email
Set up your Out of Office notification in Outlook
❖ Access your mailbox via the Outlook Web App
❖ Manage your own password
Make sure you've set up Password Self-Service before you go. So, if you forget your password when you return, you may quickly reset it yourself
❖ Don't get locked out of your account
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) provides an additional degree of security for your CPUT account. If you change your phone number or obtain a new phone, you'll need to update your MFA information so you can continue authenticating. This ensures that you have continued access to your CPUT email and other critical services. Learn how to update these details in our MFA setup document
