Despite overseas conflicts, domestic political turbulence, and shifting consumer sentiments, the business landscape remains robust. In the realm of property management, we have weathered the storm caused by the pandemic. Tenant arrears, once a cause for concern, have now stabilized. Interestingly, tenants are presented with a choice: renew their leases or seek larger premises. Renewals are driven by the scarcity of alternative options and a significant uptick in rental prices across the market. One notable factor contributing to these rent hikes is the recent spike in the Consumer Price Index (CPI). Lease agreements, structured around CPI reviews, have led to rent increases of up to 7 to 8% for some tenants, leaving them understandably surprised.
