The overwhelming success of this year's Irish Market held in Manchester during the city's Irish Festival in March, is set to be repeated next year, when an even bigger and better market is planned.

Ag labhairt do ag an lainseail diiirt an tAire 6 hUiginn, 'Is cuid tabhachtach de shaol eacnamaiochta, chulturtha agus shoisialta na Gaeltachta iad na healaiontoiri agus na ceardaithe. This year's market drew 25 craft exhibitors from across Ireland, selling a good cross-section of traditional Irish crafts.

Creideann Judy Greene, Stiiirthoir DCI, go bhfuil daoine i bhfad ni'os roghnaithi anois faoi na hearrai a cheanaionn siad toisc eacnamaiocht na tire seo a bheith chomh laidir is ata. The Bridge Gallery provides access to both applied and fine arts. Opened in early November, The Bridge is now seeking craft workers interested in inclusion in the gallery and shop. It is hoped that, while functioning foremost as an attractive oudet, The Bridge will also create opportunities for exchange between the Irish and Scottish Galleries.
