God’s Daily Presence ... by Brenda McDaniel

When I was a younger woman, I was busy with life. Going to college, working, doing household chores, etc... Sometimes life got in the way of prayer and reading the Bible daily. But, when hard times or pain came into my life, I turned to God for peace and help. Through the years, He always answered my prayers. Not always the way I wanted them answered, but according to His will. My mother, when we were children, read the Bible to us every night, before bedtime. And as she got older, I would find her reading her Bible daily. She was an excellent example of what prayers and Bible reading daily can do in your life. It gave her strength in good and bad times. Times of illness, hardship, and loss. She taught us all the strength and power of prayers and God’s word.

So, I ran into my own hard times, physical, mental, and emotional pain. But the Lord was always there to help me. He helped me realize how much I really needed His power and love. Sometimes you need to be humbled and broken to truly realize the Lord’s healing power. As I reached middle age, I started reading my Bible and praying daily—more often than in my younger days. I realized the peace, power, hope, faith, and love that prayers and Bible reading can give you. And the Lord became a dear friend and Savior to me, the One I can tell anything to and ask for anything that is within His will for my life. I am no longer alone in this world, but have a dear friend and Savior to walk with me daily. When I have his peace and strength, I can accomplish things I would have never dreamed possible. He works many miracles and gives blessings daily to me as a child of God. Nothing is impossible for our God or our Savior, Jesus Christ.
