Dear Parents Happy New Year! We have enjoyed a busy first few days of term for 2017 and I feel the children are already back into the routine of school life. There is a full programme in the weeks ahead and I am sure our pupils will continue to strive to achieve their best in all aspects of school life. This is the season when many children are taking 11+ pre-tests for a variety of senior schools. I know they have worked hard in preparing for them and I very much hope their performance matches their abilities. A final note of caution. Our primary concern is the safety of the children under our care. It has been reported to me that several parents are using mobile phones whilst driving in the school car park. Clearly, this poses a greater risk of an incident and I would respectfully ask all drivers to give their full attention whilst on site. Yours sincerely Michael Connolly

Bright Stars Holiday Fun We enjoyed making mince pies with our friends. We made the pastry and took turns to roll it out. Then we cut out our circles and filled them with mincemeat.

Cranmore rowers end 2016 on a high The end of the year is always a special time for the Cranmore Rowing Club. After a highly competitive ten pin bowling match at the Spectrum, we all head back to the clubhouse for a traditional Christmas party with all the party games and, of course, plenty of party food! The following Sunday, we joined Walton Rowing Club members for the Christmas Scratch Regatta. The crews were drawn out of a hat (age and ability do not matter) BUT all crews must race in Santa hats! A good time was had by all with some exciting races, especially for Sam Moynihan, who found himself in a J14 mixed crew, but rose to the challenge and put in a superb performance. Mr Martin
