SIXTH FORM NEWS
Hi all,
I hope you have had a lovely week.
Year 13 have been continuing with their UCAS applications; congratulations to the early applicants who have submitted so far!
On Thursday, we celebrated Mental Heath Day. Our Mental Health Prefects organised for hot chocolate to be sold at break time – a ‘hug-in-a-mug’ – in collaboration with the Mental Health Ambassadors from across the school.
We have also continued on with our Enrichment Programme. Year 13 have been attending Ethics lessons every Friday discussing relevant topics such as the death penalty, abortion, and doping in sports. We have undertaken research in relation to these topics and then debated them as a year group. The Sixth Form has also been attending Current Affairs lectures helping us to stay up date to date with news from around the world. Our self-defence lessons have also continued!
The Year 12 Mathematicians have also started their Royal Institute training. This allows Sixth Form students to teach a Maths topic of their choice to pupils in Year 5 from across the school Trust. It is a great experience to include on a Personal Statement and a chance to get involved with younger members of our community.
Have a lovely weekend,
Amelia (Deputy Head Girl)
BOARDING NEWS
Another fantastic week in boarding! The girls were busy with a variety of activities that truly made the week special. We kicked things off by celebrating several birthdays, complete with delicious cake and joyful renditions of "Happy Birthday."
On Saturday, the girls enjoyed a delightful outing to Covent Garden in London, where they explored shops and savoured a lovely lunch. This trip was a wonderful opportunity for them to experience a bit of independence and enjoy some quality free time.
For International Boarding Day, we embraced our diverse cultures by cooking traditional dishes from our home countries. Sharing these meals not only allowed us to explore new flavours but also sparked meaningful conversations about our different backgrounds and traditions.
As we look ahead to the holidays, we’re excited to hear about the girls' plans and experiences!
YEAR 7 PGL
Year 7 had a fantastic time on their trip to PGL earlier this week! The girls participated in a variety of exciting activities, including shelter building, laser tag, and even braving the giant swing. It was a brilliant way to wrap up the half term!
KEW GARDENSTRIP
level Art students recently enjoyed a wonderful trip to Kew Gardens, where they gathered first-hand research through sketches and photographs. Surrounded by the beautiful gardens, they had a lovely time exploring nature’s beauty, which will inspire and inform their upcoming projects. We cannot wait to see the incredible work they create in the year ahead!
SILVER D OF E PRACTICE
EXPEDITION:
“Over the weekend we travelled down to the isle of Purbeck, Dorset for our D of E practice expedition. When we arrived, we set up our tents and cooked our dinner, all filled with excitement to start walking the next day. Early Saturday we packed up our tents and set off from our starting point, Arne. Throughout the day we learnt new map reading skills and had great fun with our group and instructor. We encountered a pig, some Highland cattle and lots more cows! We got to pass Corte Castle and see the best views where we took lots of photos before resting and having our lunch. My group had the best time over the weekend as we all worked together keeping our spirits up and each having a go with map reading, whilst creating fun videos on our Go Pro. The weather was perfect, and we only experienced some light rain as we trekked the last few minutes on Sunday to our end point! We finished at Studland Ferry and when we arrived, we were cheered on by other groups and our instructors. Finally, we got ready to go back home after a great weekend, and we even got a well earned McDonalds! I had so much fun, and I can’t wait for our qualifying expedition!”
MATHS MASTERCLASS
The Sixth Form students participated in the launch of the Royal Institution Masterclass workshops held at St. Teresa’s. They were given a rundown of what a Masterclass is, how to deliver one, and also participated in the Codebreaking and Cipher off-the-shelf workshop provided by Ri. Soon they will be leading their own sessions for a group of KS2 students from local prep schools.
HUG IN A MUGMENTAL HEALTH DAY
Hug in a Mug raised £179 for charity yesterday as
BODY CONFIDENCE WORKSHOP
part of our World Mental Health Day event. The girls all pitched in to help with the hot chocolate sale, and Yogi, our therapy dog, joined in the fun. It was a great opportunity for everyone to enjoy some time together and show real community spirit.
Pupils and parents also had the opportunity to attend an empowering workshop on ‘Body Confidence’, led by Tallulah O'Hear, as part of our Mental Health Day events.
If you missed out you can find a recording of the parents workshop HERE

This leaflet contains the information regarding how the shoeboxes should be packed. Please pay particular attention to the section entitled ‘How to pack your Christmas Gift SHOEBOX’ on the second page. Hard copies of this leaflet are available at the Main Reception.

This Week
Bible Reading
The disciples woke him and said to him,“Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves,“Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
He said to his disciples,“Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
They were terrified and asked each other,“Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
Mark 4
Reflection
Sometimes as we journey and move through life we can face storms.
These can often take us by surprise. Life can be unpredictable.
The Disciples recognise Jesus as Teacher, but after this miracle as more than a Teacher. We too may think we know Jesus. But we must continue to grow in our knowledge of the one who can calm the storms.
Prayer
Lord, bring peace and calm to the storms I am facing or may face in the future. Remind us all that you are with us and that you control the waters. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord.Amen.
