FORM NEWS
Hi all,
I hope you had a restful half-term; welcome back!
In the Sixth Form, we have been busy continuing with our A-Level Subjects and UCAS Applications (for Year 13).
In Year 13, more UCAS applications have been sent off and offers are being received. Well done for all the hard work and keep going!
We have also been continuing with our EPQs. Year 13 had a Taught Skills session on Tuesday. As we reach the end of our projects, we are preparing to give a presentation on our findings and what we have learnt from the EPQ process.
On Wednesday, the Sixth Form had an assembly themed on Remembrance. As we prepare to pay our respects on the 11th of November, we were reminded of our sense of duty and faith as students, and how we can work as a team, within our community.
Have a restful weekend,
Amelia S-M (Deputy Head Girl)
GREEN CAREERS WEEK
It was lovely to welcome back the KBR, Inc. One Ocean team, to talk to our Sixth Formers as part of Green Careers Week about their degrees and career paths; inspiring our pupils about the diverse job roles and industries within the Green sector. The girls had the opportunity to find out more throughout the week in the Library!
BOARDING NEWS
It's back to school for another exciting term! The girls have spent the past week settling back in, catching up with friends, and sharing stories from their holidays. Some of our pupils had the incredible opportunity to travel to South Africa, where they participated in sports matches and performed exceptionally well. Whether their break was restful or eventful, everyone is now ready and eager to dive back into boarding life.
To kick off the new term, we're thrilled to introduce our brand chance to choose their own books, and every Wednesday evening, we gather together to read and broaden our horizons through the world of literature. It's a wonderful opportunity for them to expand their knowledge, spark their imaginations, and explore new worlds through the pages of their novels.
Looking ahead, we are excited for a term filled with enriching activities, hands-on learning, and plenty of fun. As the festive season draws nearer, we can't wait to share the joy of Christmas and make this term one to remember!
YEAR 7 ENRICHMENT
Mr Cook has continued his support of the Enrichment programme by taking another Year 7 group on a tour of the School’s trees and plants. Educating them about how to identify trees, their age and much more, the girls even challenged themselves to see if they were collectively wider than the oldest tree on site.
JEKYLL AND HYDE
The English department recently welcomed the Box Clever Theatre for an engaging performance and workshop. Bringing the GCSE text to life, the actors made the story both approachable and captivating, leaving our pupils entranced! It was a great opportunity for them to deepen their understanding of the story in preparation for their upcoming mock exams.
FISH FILLETING
Our GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition pupils have been learning the challenging skill of fish filleting this week. This intricate technique requires precision and patience, and they approached it with impressive focus and skill!
DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS
PE NUTRITION
Our GCSE PE students visited Manor House School for an interactive session on sports nutrition, gaining insights into the role of diet in performance and even creating some healthy recipes of their own!
It’s been a busy week in MFL as the girls in different year groups have been learning about Día de los Muertos (the Day of the Dead). They’ve
been exploring the history and culture surrounding it and creating various crafts of their own, including colourful masks and paper flowers!

We hope that you have had a good half term break.
STE didn’t get any time off as we had Pony Days, Private Lessons and Staff Training during the two weeks of half term. The ponies did get a small break and physio treatment to make sure that they are in tip-top shape for the second half of the Autumn Term.
We will have a new pony joining us soon who looks just like King! She will need some time to settle in to a new environment, so if you do see her around, please give her some space and make sure that you are quiet and calm around her.
While we were having a relaxed half term, the NSEA team headed to the Championships at Addington!
An outstanding 8 teams and 17 individual qualifications headed to the National and Plate Championships, read below for some highlights!
In the National Show Jumping 90cm, the Blue Team rode a clear and fast round to put them into the top 8 for the jump off and placed 5th overall!
In the 1.10m Show Jumping, Amber also placed in the top 8 and came 7th!
In the Jumping with Style 80 cm, Lilly individually qualified and rode an amazing round to be placed 4th out of 36!
In the Combined Training, 1m class Antonia did a superb dressage test followed by a clear show jumping round to come 4th overall!
And during the Plate Show Jumping in the 90cm class, the Blue Team came 5th overall and Rosie came 4th as an individual!
Well done to all who travelled to Addington!

This Week
Bible Reading
Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. St Paul’s Letter to the Romans
Reflection
As we enter the month of November the Church gives us time to remember those that passed from this life. In this month we are encouraged to pray for our loved ones that have gone before us. Grief and loss are some of the most difficult things we have to face in our humanity, but our faith in Jesus, our faith in His Resurrection must give us hope that nothing can separate us from the love of God.
Prayer
We pray for all those who nurse the sick and comfort the dying. Lord, make them strong to do their work, make them gentle as they look after the weak, make their hearts grow in love. Amen
“May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be.”
