CRA has developed and delivered an intensive 5-day environmental auditor training course for the food manufacturer Moy Park, aimed at increasing the knowledge and skills of site-based environmental staff. The course was developed on a modular basis to allow staff to select the elements most appropriate to them. The first module comprised 2 days of environmental awareness training, focusing on the requirements of environmental legislation, but also addressing other drivers and techniques for achieving compliance. The module is aimed at sites with environmental permits but also is relevant to non-permitted sites. The second module comprised a 3-day internal environmental auditor course, with the first day addressing the application of an environmental management system (EMS) to improve environmental performance. This equips participants with an understanding of how an EMS should operate effectively, to allow them to carry out useful EMS audits.
