SWIM INSTRUCTION
Swim Instruction – Youth, Teen & Adult Our warm water, multi-depth pool is great for learning. Children will progress with confidence and learn to love the water. Lesson progressions are skill based emphasizing proper technique and safety. Enthusiastic, well-trained instructors create a positive and fun experience. Classes are offered every day. Either once or twice a week. Schedules are available online with specific class times the week prior to each session. Skill assessments available for those who don’t know what level to enroll in. Terrace Tots: 9 mos-3 yrs • Pre-School: 3-5 yrs • School Age: 6-12 yrs • Teen/Adult: Ages 13 and over

Marlins Summer Swim Team The Marlins are a recreational team emphasizing improvement of strokes, endurance and fun. They compete in dual meets each week as part of the Craze Swim League with other local teams. The allleague swim meet will be held August 15 at Snohomish Aquatic Center. Register for one of the specific practice times listed below, this will be your child’s practice time for the summer. Open registration begins March 9th. Practices are held Monday-Thursday and will begin once school ends.
Placement in the Elite Practice Groups requires a minimum time standard listed below: • 9-12 Year olds: 50 Freestyle: 38.50 or faster AND 100 IM 1:40.00 or faster • 13-18 Year olds: 50 Freestyle: 35.50 or faster AND 100 IM 1:30.00 or faster

Children who have not completed at least one session of School Age Level 6 will need to have a tryout by a coach. These should be completed before the open registration date. Children 10 and up: 25 yards of crawl, backstroke, breast stroke, and butterfly. Children under 10: 25 yards of crawl and backstroke, 15 yards breaststroke and butterfly.

Arthritis Aquatics A low impact class with a choice of intensity that is based on each individual’s abilities. The warm water helps relieve pain and stiffness as well as increase joint flexibility.
Aquatic Boot Camp This is a high intensity and impact class for those looking to get a great workout. This class focuses on core strength, muscle strength and toning, and cardio. We recommend wearing water shoes and bring a water bottle.
Aqua Zumba® High impact and intensity. Aqua Zumba® blends the Zumba® philosophy with traditional water fitness into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that’s cardio conditioning, body toning and exhilarating!
Deep Water Fitness No impact with moderate to high intensity. This is a dynamic, total-body workout. Students use equipment for floating, support and resistance. No swim skills are required however participants must be comfortable in the deep water.
Low Intensity Fitness Training (LIFT) Low impact with variable intensity. Low Intensity Fitness Training is a program for people who are just starting a fitness program, persons 60 years and over, anyone with joint and mobility issues, or anyone looking for a bit of a slower pace from our other classes.
River Fitness Medium impact with medium to high intensity. Use of river current, water resistance and hand weights for a complete body workout.
Shallow Water Fitness Low to mid impact with moderate intensity. Includes various walking techniques in shallow water.
Water Walk Low to mid impact with moderate intensity. Includes various walking techniques in shallow water. No swim skills required.

SAFETY CLASSES American Red Cross Lifeguarding
Junior Lifeguards (Ages 12-14)
This course will certify participants as an American Red Cross Lifeguard. This entry level course can be utilized at most pools to work as a lifeguard. Our warm water, indoor swimming pool is available for year-round fun! All rentals include tubes, mats, basketball hoop, water walk, noodles, water toys and lifejackets. Pool parties are fun for all ages and swimming abilities. Half the pool or the full pool may be rented. Adults are required to accompany children in the water at all rentals. All pool rentals will receive a rules orientation and a swim check for deep water swimming at the beginning of the rental.

SWIM TEAM Want to swim competitively in a fun and positive environment? Join the team! Serving ages 6 to 18, swim team participants improve individual skills while swimming competitively both at the local and regional levels. Your coaches will focus on proper technique while you improve your endurance, learn teamwork and make friends.
FAMILY SWIM This is your chance to introduce your child to play in the water. Limited to children 10 and under. Max two children per guardian in the water. Please see schedule for days and times and join us for some family FUN! All patrons on the pool deck (except during lessons and swim team) must pay the entrance fee. Fees include 10.4% sales tax. *Edmonds residents and Dale Turner Family YMCA members receive a discount. *PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 7 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT IN THE WATER. *Swim tests will be administered on a daily basis for children wishing to swim outside of the shallow area.
