IT’S A PHRASE WE HEAR QUITE often, people in search of“old Florida.”A distant memory for some, and a romantic notion for others who never actually experienced it,it’s an endearing term for a time when life moved a little slower, was a little quieter and a lot more laid back.

Coral Ridge somehow manages to bridge the gap between looking ahead to the future and staying grounded in the history ofa classic golfclub. There are a few physical reminders ofa bygone era around the Club and throughout the classically laid-out Robert Trent Jones course, but perhaps it’s just the ambiance that settles in a few

From a recent Instagram message: minutes after arrival that harkens to yesteryear. The absence ofthe hustle and bustle.

We can be very busy at times, especially during our major Club events, but we take extra measures to train staffin steps of service that are not lost when 30 people are present,or 300.

While we move ahead with more technology at the Club,we never want to lose sight ofthe oasis ofrelaxation we are to families and the outdoor escape for the sporting crowd. And our dedication to traditional events may be a little old fashioned, but it is also part ofthe fabric of CRCC that never gets “old.”

Only one of a handful…

Our sunken bar is the center piece of our mid-century modern dining room and a cool throwback to a 1950’s architect’s idea ofkeeping the bar chairs low…not so tipsy…and eye to eye with the bartender.

Have you noticed these?

Not just cute, these quaint doilies keep condensation from running offthe table and onto your lap!

“Old Florida” comes to mind in describing Coral Ridge Country Club. Pulling through the gate, one is met by an understated yet elegant clubhouse that is a reminder of the club’s beginnings in the 1950s. The legendary course architect, Robert Trent Jones, laid out the routing just north of Ft. Lauderdale, and the recent renovation by son, Rees Jones, provides for a fun and yet challenging experience. While the terrain is what one would expect from southeast Florida golf, the well-placed bunkers and fast undulating greens will test every aspect of a player’s game on a very straightforward course that lacks gimmicks. The vibrant energy of the club lacks pretenses, and it’s easy to see why they are at capacity.”

NO RIFLE NEEDED: Wide fairways permit some spraying of tee shots, but boundary line pines and target area traps are strategically spaced to prevent the too casual player who wanders.
