Begin, be bold and venture to be wise. —Horace Welcome to year three of TEDxSanAntonio! TEDx events bring Ideas Worth Sharing in an intentionally intimate setting. You’re here because you’ve been specially invited or selected, so please enjoy the day and make the most of the festival of brain candy and ideas that is TEDxSan Antonio. We’ll be joined by people all over the world watching the event on web livestream. Last year, viewers from more than 33 countries tuned in to experience the event with us. This is a chance for San Antonio to shine, and let the world know that innovation and creativity thrive here, with a particular flavor all our own. On tap are 22 bold speakers and 2 recorded TEDtalks to spark discussion. The most important aspect is the conversations that occur between participants during the breaks, at lunch, and at the after party. Set Design with a Purpose Lake | Flato is proud to support TEDxSanAntonio through the design and construction of this year’s stage backdrop. The set design embraces the theme “Be Bold” by bringing attention to the issue of downtown homelessness and the resources available in our community to address this problem. The backdrop consists of blankets needed by Haven for Hope and its 80 supporting organizations that provide nightly comfort to those who have none. The material for these blankets comes from the local non-profit organization Lighthouse for the Blind, and will be donated to Haven for Hope after the event. Our set design is a call to action for collaborating on bold solutions for our community.

Collaborative Sketchnoting at TEDxSanAntonio 2012 Sketchnoting is a note-taking technique incorporating simple drawings. The technique enhances recall and helps the note taker discover interesting connections between ideas. At TEDxSanAntonio 2012, we’re introducing a new element: Collaborative Sketchnoting. Participants and viewers of the web livestream are encouraged to Sketchnote the talks in their programs or notebooks. Professional Sketchnoter Kate Hayward of Sticky Knowledge will also Sketchnote a large framework for each talk. We’ll post these around the event venue as they’re made, and participants will add to them, finding new connections and exploring ideas together. We hope you find Sketchnoting to be a great way to engage more deeply in learning and interactions. Victor Landa Victor was born in San Antonio and raised on the border in both Laredo, Texas and Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. In 1981, Victor landed a job working as a news photographer for a CBS affiliate in Laredo, Texas. He has been a journalist ever since. During his 30-year career, Victor has worked as a photographer, editor, reporter, producer, assignments editor, columnist, teacher, consultant, anchor and news director. In the early 1980s, Victor crossed over into Spanish television with a job at KWEX-TV, in San Antonio. He went on to be the News Director at KVDA-TV, where the team pioneered an internet-based community correspondent project, funded in part by the Pew foundation, where citizens reported live, from their homes, via the internet about issues concerning their neighborhood. A contributing columnist for the San Antonio-Express News as well as a syndicated writer for the Hispanic Link News Service, Victor has been writing a Spanish language weekly column for Conexion, the San Antonio Express-Newsâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s bi-cultural publication since 2003. Victor was co-coordinator of NOWCastSA, a community journalism website funded by the Knight Foundation and the San Antonio Area Foundation. Heâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s owner of Palabrero Communications and editor/ founder of the popular online daily, News Taco. Married for 27 years, Victor and his wife have two college-aged children.

Shari Albright Chair, Department of Education, Trinity University

Shari Becker Albright is the Chair of the Department of Education at Trinity University and serves as the Norine R. Murchison Distinguished Professor of Practice in Education. A consultant to the Mayor’s Brain Power Initiative, Shari supports the SAISD Education Foundation as a board member and by working with the P-16+ Council for the city. Shari served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Asia Society’s International Studies Schools Network. She was a member of the national task force to develop the definition of global competence in partnership with the Council of Chief State School Officers and has served as a contributing author on a number of publications bringing a global perspective into teaching and learning. Shari served as the principal of the International School of the Americas in San Antonio. The recipient of the Goldman Sachs Prize in International Education in 2004, Shari was named Texas High School Principal of the Year for 2004 by H-E-B’s Excellence in Education Awards program. After earning her doctorate at Teachers College, Columbia University in 1992, Shari served as an assistant professor of education at Trinity University and as an educational consultant for the National Basic School Network and the U.S. Department of State Overseas Schools. She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Trinity University.

Erica Anthony Musician

Erica Anthony grew up in Corpus Christi, ventured to San Antonio a few years ago to attend college at Trinity University, and just recently relocated to Austin. She leads a busy life as a musician. She had only wanted a job so that she could continue to play music after college, but she now runs a small, even tiny, tutoring business called Escalada Education Co., continues to collaborate with other artists and creatives. Ericaâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s big goal is being a sought-after studio musician while delving into film scoring and festival and special event performance. She plans more compositions featuring Brazilian Portuguese and other languages. Out of necessity, Erica became a business owner with E Anthony Music after being laid off from her teaching job last September. She gigs mainly on voice, upright bass, and acoustic guitar and has performed on violin, electric bass, goumbe, berimbau, and pandeiro. A couple of years ago, Capoeira came into Ericaâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s life, and her passion for it remains strong. Her main goal is to improve over time in these different and interesting areas of focus. Erica hopes to continue to pursue her interests and passions for many years as a benefit to those around her.

Lyda C. Arévalo-Flechas Professor, St. David’s School of Nursing at Texas State University Round Rock Campus

Lyda C. Arévalo-Flechas, PhD, MSN, RN has earned a reputation for cutting-edge research on the factors influencing Latino/ Hispanic caregivers‘ perception of the experience of caring for a relative with Alzheimer‘s disease nationally and internationally. Her nursing career spans more than 25 years, including working as an operating room nurse, teaching university students and becoming a researcher. Her passion for research was triggered when she started working with Hispanic/Latino caregivers and realized the gap in cultural and linguistic needs required to address this growing population. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Dr. Arévalo-Flechas‘ research interests include Latino/Hispanic caregiving, the concepts of caregiver satisfaction and duty fulfillment, and formulation of a culturally informed theory of caregiving. She is very active in mentoring nursing students in the planning and implementation of community outreach, service learning programs, and study abroad experiences. Her teaching areas of interest are focused on gerontology, medical Spanish, and cultural competence in the delivery of health care services. Dr. Arévalo-Flechas is one of a handful of Hispanic doctorally prepared registered nurses in the nation. Dr. Arévalo-Flechas received her BSN from State University of New York at Binghamton, and her MSN and PhD from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She has received numerous awards and accolades, including a feature in the San Antonio Business Journal as a Healthcare Hero.

Steve Baskin Camp Professional

Steve and his wife Susie are the Executive Directors of Camp Champions in Marble Falls, TX. He is also partner and co-founder of Everwood Day Camp in Sharon, MA and a partner in Camp Pinnacle in Flat Rock, NC. He has been a camp professional since 1993. Raised in Midland, TX, Steve attended Davidson College (Summa Cum Laude), London School of Economics and Harvard Business School. He spent 4 years as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs and Simmons & Company, but he wanted a career that impacted children. In 1993, Steve and his brother founded Camp Balcones Springs. In 1995, they and Susie bought Camp Champions. In 1996, they founded the Outdoor School to provide experiential learning and outdoor education to children ages 12-15. He cofounded Everwood Day Camp in 2010 and became a partner in Camp Pinnacle in 2011. Steve writes for Psychology Today on youth development, education and parenting. Most importantly, he is a husband and father of 4 children: twin boys (15) and two daughters (14 & 11). Since he and Susie cannot spend summers with their children, they took them out of school last year and traveled for 22 weeks to Europe, Asia and New Zealand. They remain surprisingly sane.

J. Darryl Byrd CEO of SA2020

J. Darryl Byrd is leading the community wide effort to chart a bold course that over the next ten years will ultimately transform San Antonio into one of the nation’s undisputedly great cities. Prior to SA2020, Darryl served as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director for Pearl Brewery, LLC, where he led Silver Ventures, Inc.’s efforts to transform The Historic Pearl Brewery into a groundbreaking culinary and cultural gathering place. In previous years, Darryl served as Vice President of Development and Director of Development for Worth Enterprises and Medallion Homes. Darryl received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Hampton University in Virginia and his Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from Clemson University in South Carolina. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, a former chairman of the City Planning Commission, and a former Director of the San Antonio Section of the American Planning Association. Darryl is a graduate of Leadership San Antonio (LSA) Class 30, and co-chair of the LSA Class 36. Darryl and his wife Monica reside in Monte Vista, the nation’s largest National Historic District, with their young son, James.

Molly Cox Nonprofit Fancy Pants

Molly Cox began her career in radio in Corpus Christi, moved on to television and landed on a conservative talk station. She eventually expanded her education from a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre to a Master of Arts in Political Science. During her tenure at The University of Texas at San Antonio as the Director of the Center for Policy Studies, Molly managed the Nonprofit Management Program, and the American Humanics Program (now the Nonprofit Leadership Program). UTSA’s program received the Sprint Foundation’s Program Excellence Award. As a Nonprofit Fancy Pants, Molly works with area nonprofits on communication strategies, organizational assessments, and capacity building. She has had the privilege of working with San Antonio Nonprofit Council, Haven for Hope, San Antonio Education Partnership, San Antonio Youth Commission, Harbor Playhouse, ThriveWell Cancer Foundation, and, most recently, SA2020. Molly is a co-organizer of Action San Antonio and serves on the Team Up Challenge Grants Committee through Silver and Black Give Back, the Texas Governor’s Volunteer Awards Committee, and the San Antonio Ethics in Business Selection Committee. Molly can be seen in David Mamet’s November at The Playhouse, October 26 through November 16.

Anna C. Dragsbaek President & CEO, The Immunization Partnership

Anna C. Dragsbaek worked in a rural hospital as a Peace Corps volunteer in Sierra Leone, West Africa, where she watched children suffer from vaccine-preventable diseases, such as tetanus, measles and polio. Later, Anna lived in China where she again witnessed people suffering from vaccinepreventable diseases, including severe influenza. Anna holds an undergraduate degree in Social Work from Marquette University and earned her law degree, specializing in Public Health Law, at the University of Houston. As Manager of the Immunization Project at Texas Childrenâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Hospital, Anna focused on implementing projects to boost immunization rates and analyzing immunization law and policies. She has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, including Pediatrics, and has received numerous awards, including the Healthcare Hero award from the Houston Business Journal. Active in the local and international health communities, Anna has held board positions on the American Immunization Registry Association, The Confederation of Meningitis Organization, and the Texas Lyceum. She volunteers as a Boy Scout Merit Badge Counselor and specializes in the Citizenship Merit Badges. Her two sons are both fully immunized.

Robert Harris Partner, Lake | Flato Architects

Bob Harris, FAIA LEED AP, has dedicated his career to defining a better balance between the natural and manmade worlds. Heâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s a Fellow in the American Institute of Architects (AIA) with a Masters degree in Architecture from the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he focused his graduate work on the subject of Aesthetics and Sustainability. Bob leads Lake | Flatoâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s sustainability practice. His work has been recognized by the AIA with four national sustainable design awards, one national honor award, and more than a dozen local and state design awards. He served four years as a director on the national board of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and was a founding director of the Central Texas-Balcones Chapter. Bob combines award-winning design and sustainable practices in buildings that respect nature, enhance place, and exhibit the craft of construction. He has more than 20 years of project experience with a focus on environmental issues, ranging from land preservation advocacy to sustainable urban design.

Paul Johnson Public Servant

Paul was raised in Tulsa, OK where he started doing theatre when he was four years old. He was a National Merit Scholar and started college as a math major, but Honors Calc III took care of that. Paul met his wife, Rebecca, at summer camp and graduated from Oklahoma State University. He bounced around stocking groceries at Walmart, mowing lawns, consulting, and selling before he found his passionâ&#x20AC;&#x201D;teaching. Paul is a bit of a public speaking wonk and has presented more than 500 talks covering more than 75 topics. He is a BCMA and Municipal Specialist and serves on the board of directors of ISA. He has been a radio talk show host, newspaper columnist, Extension educator, and University adjunct instructor. Paul believes in saving money by investing in our community.

Dr. Karl Klose Professor of Microbiology, University of Texas at San Antonio

Dr. Klose received his Ph.D. in Microbiology at the University of California Berkeley in 1993, and performed postdoctoral studies in microbial pathogenesis at Harvard Medical School. He joined the department of Microbiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 1997 as an assistant professor, and moved to the University of Texas San Antonio in 2004. As founder and director of the South Texas Center for Emerging Infectious Diseases, with 19 infectious disease laboratories. Dr. Kloseâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s research focuses on understanding bacterial pathogenesis in order to develop effective vaccines and therapeutics. An author on more than 84 peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Klose has received funding from sources including NIH, DoD, SAAF, and Thrasher Fund. He has mentored many Ph.D., Masters, and undergraduate students, as well as postdoctoral fellows, and international visiting students from India, Spain, Austria, Germany, and Chile. He has participated in numerous NIH study sections, he was the President of the Texas Branch of the American Society for Microbiology (2001-2003). He has twice been a recipient of two ASM Visiting Professorships, to Kolkata, India in 2004, and to Valparaiso, Chile in 2012. He received the 2002 Presidential Junior Research Scholar award at UTHSCSA and the 2009 Presidentâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Distinguished Research Achievement Award at UTSA.

Mark Larson is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KIPP San Antonio, a growing network of college preparatory public schools in innercity San Antonio. KIPP, which stands for the â&#x20AC;&#x153;Knowledge Is Power Program,â&#x20AC;? is recognized for its innovative approach to education and for its effectiveness in preparing underprivileged, inner-city youth for college. Mark is a graduate of Trinity University three times, with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (1997), a Master of Arts in Teaching (1998), and a Master of Education in School Administration (2002). In his first five years as an educator, Mark Larson taught math and science at the International School of the Americas (Lee High School). In 2002, Mark was awarded a Fisher Fellowship and founded KIPP Aspire Academy in 2003, which he led as School Leader until being appointed CEO of KIPP San Antonio in 2009. KIPP San Antonio currently operates three schools: KIPP Aspire Academy MS (2003), KIPP University Prep HS (2009), and a second middle school, KIPP Camino Academy MS (2010).

Mark Menjivar is a husband, father, artist and photographer based in San Antonio. His work explores diverse social issues through photography, stories and found objects while emphasizing dialogue and collaboration. His previous project, You Are What You Eat, a series of portraits made by photographing the interiors of refrigerators, has traveled to 15 cities and has been published in over 20 magazines around the world. Mark has received awards and support from organizations including CENTER, Photolucida and the Breckenridge Foundation. He holds a BA in Social Work from Baylor University and is an MFA candidate at Portland State University.

Dale Monnin President, Drum Café South

Dale Monnin was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. In a family of 11 athletic children, Dale’s one passion that has never faded is for the drum. He earned an MIS degree from Bowling Green State University and an MBA from the University of Dayton. Dale spent time with NCR as a Systems Analyst, and at IBM in Technology Sales and Parametric Technology. Dale was the manager of New Hire Training, with extended trips to Japan, China, and Korea. After PTC, Dale was named Managing Director of African Operations and re-located to Johannesburg, South Africa. On the Drum Continent, Dale finally invested in his long-held passion for drumming and at 31 bought his first drum kit. In April 2000, Dale moved to San Antonio and joined a band. For two years, he let his understanding, practice, and appreciation for making music develop and grow. On a visit back to South Africa, he discovered the Drum Café, founded by Warren Leiberman in the post-Apartheid era of South Africa’s new Democracy. Dale decided to bring the Drum Café to America and founded his drum business in January 2003.

Dan Norris Director, Holt Cat Development Services

Dan Norris specializes in the science of ethical influence. Leticia Ozuna Councilwoman, City of San Antonio District 3

City Councilwoman Leticia Ozuna works to improve the quality of life, economic vitality, educational achievement, cultural activity and technological development of San Antonioâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s District 3 for its residents. Since her appointment to the City Council on January 12, 2012, Councilwoman Ozuna has led efforts to preserve more than half the area of the Pecan Valley Golf Course as green space and champions the idea of municipal broadband. Over the past few years, Ozuna has served on the board of the Highland Park Neighborhood Association, the City of San Antonio Parks Bond Committee and SA 2012. She has also been an active Girl Scout volunteer/troop leader, was a manager for the cityâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s first co-working space, C4 Workspace, and helped start a community-based online news service, Nowcast SA. Before these ventures, Ozuna owned a software company that served customers in the defense and intelligence industries. In addition, she did environmental research and set up an agency-wide geographic information system for Texas Parks and Wildlife and an Austin-based consulting firm.

Dr. Gage Paine Vice President for Student Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin

Gage is directly responsible for services for over 50,000 students, including residence life, health and counseling services, student publications and media, recreational sports, student organizations, leadership development, and university unions. Dr. Paine earned her Ph.D. in Educational Administration from The University of Texas at Austin and J.D. from Texas Tech University. She served as Vice President for Student Affairs at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) for over five years, where she led a staff of 480 full-time employees and an equal number of student employees, and oversaw a comprehensive Student Affairs program, which included the Intercollegiate Athletics program. Dr. Paine also served as Vice President for Student Affairs at Trinity University, as Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Student Life at Southern Methodist University (SMU), and as Associate Dean of Students at The University of Texas at Austin. Linda Perez Rancher

Linda embarked for newly independent Zambia immediately upon graduating from UT, completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education by the University of London and was posted to a rural school to teach math, sciences, and agriculture. In Kenya, Linda taught in a school near the Uganda border, moved to a farm outside Nairobi, worked on educational exhibits for the National Museum, and planned a project to study seasonality of reproduction in wildebeest and Maasai cattle. She also assisted Alan Walker in his research on diet of early hominids, first at Harvard University and then at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. Linda returned to Kenya each Summer to help Walker clean hominid fossils found by Richard Leakey and his team. Linda received her MHS at Johns Hopkins, did an internship in Cusco, Peru, returned to Zambia to direct a primary health care and nutrition project and then worked in Swaziland with HIV/ AIDS prevention and support. She has studied documentary film-making at M.I.T. with Richard Leacock and got her pilotâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s license while in Kenya, at the same airport where Beryl Markham learned to fly. Linda built and operates a 300-acre cattle ranch. The best and most exciting adventure of Lindaâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s life, has been being a mother and now a grandmother.

Branco Ponomariov Assistant Professor, Public Administration, UTSA

Branco is an Assistant Professor in the department of Public Administration at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he has been teaching and doing research since 2008. He spent 2 years as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Illinois at Chicago, after completing his PhD in Public Policy at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia in 2006. His primary research interests are science and technology policy and public management. He has published more than 20 peer-reviewed journal articles on university-industry relations, technology transfer, outsourcing of public services, and human resources management in the public sector. He has extensive experience working on federally funded grants and projects from agencies such as the National Science Foundation and Department of Energy. Originally from Bulgaria, Dr. Ponomariov pursues international research collaborations whenever possible. Recent projects include a study on the improvements in the domestic research capacity in Brazil and Africa conducted in collaboration with colleagues from Finland, and a report on the state of the art knowledge in human resources management in R&D, commissioned by the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) â&#x20AC;&#x201C; a Paris-based international developmental organization.

Dr. Todd E. Rasmussen Colonel USAF MC Deputy Commander US Army Institute of Surgical Research

A Kansas native and graduate of the University of Kansas, Colonel (Dr.) Todd E. Rasmussen trained at the Mayo Clinic as an Air Force Health Professions Scholar. He performed his surgical training at Wilford Hall United States Air Force Medical Center on Lackland Air Force Base. Soon after 9/11, Colonel Rasmussen began caring for combat injured returning to Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Colonel Rasmussen deployed as a surgeon to Operation Iraqi Freedom, and completed subsequent tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as combat surgical teaching missions in Morocco and Pakistan. Highly decorated for his contributions to military surgery, Colonel Rasmussen has served as Chief of the San Antonio Military Vascular Surgery Service and the Division of Surgery at Wilford Hall. Colonel Rasmussen was appointed Deputy Commander of the US Armyâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Institute of Surgical Research, where he practices as a vascular surgeon and directs the vascular injury and hemorrhage control research program. He leads broader initiatives aimed at optimizing combat casualty care, including device innovation and development and technology transfer. Colonel Rasmussenâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s greatest passions, proudest achievements and most enjoyable moments relate to his wife Debra and their three children Cena, Harrison and Charles.

A jack of all trades, Cassandra Santori doesnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t let grass grow under her feet when it comes to a career. She has worked as a native plant landscaper, a wildlife biologist, GED instructor, truck driver, and now as the Head Worm Wrangler at Wormilicious. As the Worm Coach, she authors and maintains 2 blogs, My 20 Minute Garden and Wormilicious, and has produced a podcast, and a book on Amazon Kindle. She is passionately working to bring forth her vision of an abundant earth by working with microscopic ecosystems of which earthworms are a part.

Ray Seggern Partner, The Wizard of Ads Group

Ray Seggern’s earliest foray into entrepreneurship was selling cinnamon toothpicks to fellow fourth graders on the playground at St. Mary’s School in Taylor, Texas. A prizewinning high school debater, Ray planned to become a lawyer, but at the University of Texas he worked for NPR affiliate 90.5 KUT and started a band. He worked as a music critic for the Austin Chronicle, left college and migrated into the murky world of rock-n-roll concert promotion, co-producing the earliest Austin concerts by Pearl Jam, Jane’s Addiction, Rage Against The Machine and countless others. Ray re-enrolled at UT to pursue a career in broadcasting, and received a “Best Of Austin” award in 1994 from the Austin Chronicle for “Best Late Night Radio Host.” He also won awards as a promotions director in Tulsa (American Women in Radio and Television), a music director (Billboard Magazine and The Gavin Report) and an ad writer (Tulsa Advertising Federation’s Addy Awards). Ray became a partner at the Wizard Of Ads Group, with 43 offices across the US, Canada, Latin America, the United Kingdom and Australia. Ray’s downtempo electronic music show Chillville on alt-rock outlet 101X won “Best Radio Music Program” at South-BySouthwest. A shadetree filmmaker, occasional guitar player, and avid teetotalist since 2009, Ray lives in Austin with his daughters Cassidy and Stevie.

As Assistant Professor at Middle Tennessee State University, Todd teaches Digital Media, Content Strategy, and multimedia production. Tuttle From Syracuse University (Journalism/English), to a small daily in Rhode Island, and now Projects Editor of the San Antonio Business Journal, Donna has written for and edited newspapers, magazines and journals across the country. She cofounded the BMPR (Business, Media and PR) tribe, one of the country’s largest monthly social media mashups. The TEDxSanAntonio community owes its vibrancy to the thousands of hours donated by volunteers who serve on committees. Weâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ve made lifelong friends, discovered new depths through conflicting viewpoints, and catalyzed new connections all over San Antonio. The Programming Committee strives to engage a diverse, fascinating group of attendees and present them with talks from a slate of stimulating, innovative speakers. They review each and every application to attend or speak, and are responsible for allocating the limited numbers of both attendee and speaker slots to those who demonstrate desire and engagement with the community to produce the TED-worthy dialogs we all enjoy.

The Sponsorship Committee engages the San Antonio business and nonprofit communities and individuals who can spare time, money, creativity and effort to further the TEDxSanAntonio mission. The Communications Committee gets the word out to attendees, speakers, sponsors and volunteers. They help us develop and nurture relationships with media, stay in sync with TED and TEDx guidelines, and communicate our activities effectively through all channels. Our amazing, connected crew creates and maintains posters, banners, flyers, ads, event programs, eMails, social media postings and our website. The Logistics and Volunteers Committee handles the everyday business of TEDxSanAntonio and provides event management, project management and practical support for the myriad tasks and details required to pull this off. They work out catering, schedules, finances, supplies, t-shirts and make sure everything is humming along. They also provide the volunteers helping you get your program, badge, lunch and snacks, enforcing ground rules all the while. Members: Debbie Curtis (chair), Danting Larette, and Cynthia Phelps. The Technology and Production Committee runs the production of the show and web livestream. TEDxSanAntonioâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s crew is tasked with producing a full-day staged production for 20 or so speakers, a web livestreamed production being cut and edited on the fly, and a full shoot and editing job for more than 20 high-quality videos. In addition to all that, they provide information technology infrastructure and support for the organization.
