Sculpturing formed a definite part of his life in the seventies. Without realizing it, he spent more and more hours in his studio, until one day, sculpturing became his life. At the beginning it was a necessity, a creative urge which made him look for the figures and forms of clay and wood. He created pieces of work for himself, which, all of a sudden became sculptures for others. After being convinced by collectors and art enthusiasts to let his work travel further his sculptures can now be found in Madrid, Cologne, Barcelona, Manchester, Mexico, etc...

Nowadays, Jose Ramon Sala continues giving shape and form to clay and wood with his hands in his studio at home in Alicante, his city of birth, close to the Mediterranean Sea, where he has lived all his life nourishing his restlessness for moulding and transforming materials. The prestigious potter, Roque Martínez collaborates with Jose Ramon Sala on a regular basis with the firing of his models, in conjunction with the Madrid foundry, Arte 6, in order to finalize his sculptures in bronze.
