Shahed Kavousi
Shahed Kavousi is an internationally active American - Iranian gallerist based in Marbella. Shahed has successfully owned a gallery for 14 years in Marbella representing prestigious artists such as Warhol Foundation, Greg Gorman, Javier Martin & Chayan Khoï as well as being a large influence in the local art scene in Spain. After working with several established artists, she decided to focus on local artists to help them gain a more international presence. Having embraced art since childhood, it became a life passion after studying a Bachelor & Master in business administration at Pepperdine University where she became a talented photographer.
She began an art career in Tehran, Iran. She was working with Dr. Sami Azar which at the time was the head of the Museum of Contemporary art of Tehran, to bring Iranian artists to Spain. She then moved onto doing a specialization in contemporary art at Sotheby’s in London.
