PUBLISHED BY CREATIVITY UNLEASHED

Welcome to the first edition of ‘We Call This HOME”. We are so excited to be able to bring you this magazine. These are communities where many of our family members and friends reside - Where they call “HOME”. Creativity Unleashed has been in business now for 10 years, publishing pet magazines and placemats to help shelter pets get noticed. We decided it was time to try another idea as well. Why not bring to light all the good things available to people in our communities? There are a lot of positive reasons to live here - starting with our libraries and museums, where a wealth of information is just waiting to be discovered, to the arts, to groups that reach out to those in need, to the many shelters and rescues helping pets 24/7, to the places we gather with friends and shop at. This publication will be a vehicle through which business owners can get the word out about what they have to offer. Shopping locally is so very important. The pet pages within this magazine will feature as many local shelters as we can put in each edition. This one starts with 8 but if we add pages for the next run, we will surely try to feature more. We want to send out a huge thank you to all of the friends and business owners who have come to trust us and what we do. They have been so supportive of our business, some of them have been with us for the entire 10 years. With this new magazine we have also reached out to many other businesses as well who had not tried our publications before. We appreciate them all and we look forward to establishing relationships with them for years Look inside for: to come as we move forward and make this magazine all that we know it can be. Please let our advertisers know Community Events that you saw their ad in our magazine! Area Museums & Libraries For our next issue, we will be looking for suggestions for future stories and “Home is the nicest Local Shelters & Adoptable Pets we will gladly look into each one. Giving a helping hand to those in need in Montgomery County Nicolle Ragone started her Non-Profit called “The Giving Tree” in 2014 after her daughter Raven passed away in Jan. of 2013. She needed to keep busy and began to notice that people in her Hamilton Hill neighborhood always seemed to need small basic items. They were having to choose between those necessary items and paying the rent or buying food. So she started to purchase extras to hand out to her neighbors who needed them. Word got around and eventually people in need starting coming to her home to ask for help. To pay her back they would drop off their children’s clothes when they outgrew them so she could help out those who needed clothing. The name “The Giving Tree” came about because it was the name of a book that Raven had enjoyed so much. Since moving her Non-Profit to the Riverfront Center from her home on April 1st, the number of people being helped has doubled. Nicolle’s delivery driver, Heather Shaw has been helping with every delivery for the past 5 years, helping to get items to those in need who cannot pick them up. At this time, Nicolle is finally reaching out to ask for donations from area companies, and has gotten a good response so far. Examples of some of the

Proud to be a “Carnegie Library”

The mission of the Amsterdam Free Library is to inspire lifelong learning, advance knowledge, and strengthen our Greater Amsterdam Community. Did you know that regular library visits lead to more reading, and research shows that the amount of time spent reading is directly related to academic success. Reading is also an excellent way to unwind and distract yourself from the pressures and stressors of everyday life. The library offers you access to more books, magazines, movies and activities than you could afford to buy! Borrow as many items as your heart desires, peruse them at your leisure, and return them when you’re done to get a whole new set! In addition to our large collection of physical materials (books, audiobooks, movies, DVDs, and now board games for the whole family) we also have a large electronic collection available to patrons. Using the Overdrive or Libby apps, patrons can download and enjoy materials from the comfort (and safety) of their own homes. The material available from the Amsterdam Free Library is intended to satisfy the informational, educational, cultural, and recreational needs of the entire community. You do need to have a library card to access library resources, so be sure you have one. If not, stop by today to get one - library cards are free of charge, all you need is a photo ID and a piece of mail showing your current mailing address. Public computers and free Wi-Fi are also provided to our patrons free of charge. Access a wide variety of online databases (including magazines, newspapers, encyclopedias, almanacs, science resources, etc.) as well as Poetry Reading Session at the library word processing, social media, and other computer programs. Parents are responsible for monitoring their child’s use of library computers, as the internet is not regulated and may expose them to inappropriate or inaccurate materials. Need the internet at home? No problem! Wi-Fi hot spots are also available to borrow for free for home use with your library card!

CDTA Bus Services En Route To Montgomery County

Public transportation is essential for our communities to thrive. It helps commuters, seniors and students get to their destinations safely and serves as an outlet for residents and visitors alike to experience our region’s many entertainment opportunities. Families need a transit service they can rely on, and I’ve been steadfast in my efforts to provide them with just that. Earlier this month, I delivered on that promise by securing funding in the state budget to bring Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) bus services to Montgomery County. Since Amsterdam shuttered its public transit system in April 2018, I’ve crafted petitions and heard directly from residents about how this loss has affected their daily lives and hindered connections to other upstate communities. Heading into budget negotiations this year, I knew restoring these vital services was a top priority. With the help and input of residents like you, I was able to secure the funding we needed to make this project a reality.

This expansion is a big win for our community. CDTA has been a trusted partner in the region for more than 50 years. From managing COVID’s impact on travel to expanding services to meet riders’ ever-changing needs, CDTA has proven time and time again that it’s at the top of its field when it comes to providing affordable and reliable public transportation. As we focus on our economic recovery, these services will go a long way toward boosting business for local restaurants and shops and helping residents take advantage of new career endeavors and adventures across upstate New York. Quality transit services not only drive the local economy but also operate as an invaluable resource for people of all ages. These past two years have taught us that connections are everything. Many of us have found a renewed appreciation for simply being together, and those visits to family members and friends feel more important than ever. No one’s ZIP code should prevent them from enjoying these meaningful interactions or accessing the services they need, whether it be health care, schooling or workforce training. This expansion will help ensure these ventures are never too far away. I look forward to seeing the CDTA buses roll out this fall! As your voice at our State Capitol, you can be sure I’ll keep working to bring home the resources we need to make our community a better place to live. I encourage you to keep in touch! I want to hear your ideas to help make our community stronger. Call me at 518-382-2941 or send me an email at SantabarbaraA@nyassembly.gov — my team and I are here to help!

That was THEN....This is NOW

186 MARKET ST., AMSTERDAM

Many people in Amsterdam will remember Tesiero’s Pharmacy, (pictured below, left) operated by Thomas Tesiero on the corner at 186 Market St. It had a beautiful soda fountain and was convenient for filling prescriptions as it was located near a building full of doctor’s offices. Later, the building was occupied again as a bridal and formal wear boutique called Apropos. The bridal boutique relocated to Guilderland in 2011. Since that time it had stood empty until it was purchased and renovated. Bob and the late George Abdella, along with their partners Joe and Robin Sise celebrated the opening of their second office recently. Their second location is located at 186 Market Street in Amsterdam which is in addition to their office located at 8 West Fulton Street, Gloversville, New York. “I am so proud that we have opened a second office which will serve our clients well in Montgomery County”, Bob Abdella said. He added; “Our Office in Gloversville has been serving our clients well for decades and now I look forward to meeting with clients in Amsterdam throughout the coming decades”. Joe and Robin Sise practice predominantly out of the Amsterdam Office. Joe Sise in reflecting on the new opening said, “It is especially important to me to be working in Amsterdam because my father Bob Sise and brothers Tom and Dick Sise practiced law in Amsterdam for many years and now my wife, Bob Abdella and I can continue that tradition”. Bob Abdella has over 25 years’ experience in litigating the most serious of civil cases successfully representing clients who have been injured as a result of other’s negligence in all of the state’s trial courts. Joe Sise enjoyed a career in public service first as a prosecutor, then as a judge serving for over 23 years serving as a County Judge and then for 20 years as a Supreme Court Justice. He specializes in trial litigation in all the state’s trial courts. The ABDELLA and SISE Law Firm specializes in litigation; Medical Malpractice, Car Accidents, Slip and Falls, Estate Planning as well as Criminal Defense.

Amsterdam - Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) Downtown Amsterdam was selected as the Round 3 winner of the $10 million dollar Downtown Revitalization Initiative in the Mohawk Valley The focus of the Amsterdam DRI spans the Mohawk River to encompass a segment of the historic downtown as well as new downtown areas that have emerged as the city continues to grow and evolve. With a range of mixed-use residential and commercial spaces, an assisted living facility, established businesses, and many park and recreation amenities, the area is poised to attract additional investment to its developable land and available buildings. The DRI award will allow Amsterdam to capitalize on its concentrated footprint that provides walkability, a desirable location on the north and south of the Mohawk River/Historic Erie Canal, diverse amenities, and beautiful setting to transform the area into an attractive downtown core that supports growth in community events, business, and year-round recreational activity. The city plans to use participation in the DRI to welcome new businesses, visitors and residents eager to come to the city that everyone warmly refers to as “home,” bringing to life a beloved quote written by Maria Riccio Bryce for the Amsterdam Oratorio: “What once was home is home again - My Amsterdam.”

Completed DRI Projects: Form Based Code – established guidelines for the DRI boundary for future development and to improve the physical aesthetics and character of the downtown through form-based regulations.

Waterfront Entertainment Destination – relocated X-squad to Riverlink Park with the purchase of a dock

and shed for the business.

Community Center Project – Centro Civico/Ibero hired Bergmann as the engineer firm for the project.

Stabilization report and cost estimate are underway. Project anticipated to take 12-16 months working with Centro Civico/ Ibero and the Boys and Girls Club of the Capital Area. Project also received additional Omnibus funding in the amount of $2 million.

Amsterdam Free LIbrary Addition

City is working with their team and project will be in front of the Planning Commission for site plan review within next couple of months. Demolition and construction to begin in 2022. Public Realm Enhancements – Final designs are complete for the public enhancements on the southside and Chalmers site and are anticipated to go out to bid shortly. Enhancements include a public boardwalk with connections to the MVGO and amenities. Costs have escalated and the project will now be broken down into two phases. Phase I of the project will begin construction/ be completed in 2022. Phase II will be anticipated to start construction in 2023 with an additional funding application being sought through NYSDOS. Selected firm is Saratoga Associates.

Community Center Rendering

Marketing – City just recently hired a new marketing firm and website firm to begin work immediately. Civic Plus was

hired for design and implementation of new city website. TimeLine is 6 months for completion. Paperkite was hired on the marketing side with a one-year contract.

Public Art – Art committee was formed and has conducted site tours along every area of the DRI boundary. First project they will be assisting on is a public art piece for the center of the round about that will be installed by NYSDOT this spring 2022. Also working with the committee on the main art piece on the public boardwalk and every other future project to be constructed through the DRI and additional projects.

Future DRI Projects: (Hinge on the completion of NYSDOT project) Southern Rt 5 Project – Project is working in conjunction with NYSDOT on their northern Rt 5 project. The redevelopment of their project and closing of ours will take place simultaneously. Portions of that area can be utilized for future projects, such as the proposed Multi Modal Facility. Gateway to the Downtown – Project can begin programming abandoned roadways from closing southern Rt 5. Improvements to the gateway off the Rt 30 bridge will occur with the hiring of a team for streetscape enhancements.

Recreation Center – Project can go out to RFP for engineering/construction firm to begin designs of the project. Anticipated timeline to start is fall of 2022, completion of 2023.

It’s Coming Back to Life! Under New Ownership! Dan Nelli is about to bring back a great city “place to be”. Dan, the owner of Dan’s Backyard Barbecue, bid on the property at 72 Lyon Street, formerly Crystal Bar. Dan sent in his plans for what will be Lyon Street Bar & Grill and after having the bid accepted by the City of Amsterdam, he is working hard to open his new restaurant as soon as possible. Dan is no stranger to business or to the residents of Amsterdam, as he has owned Dan’s Backyard Barbecue for 13 years now and was the past proprietor of River’s Edge restaurant in Amsterdam Riverlink Park for 5 Years. Dan has enlisted local businesses to help with the clean-up and progress is being made with their help. Brinks & Son Lawncare/Landscape helped clear the brush thatAmsterdam’s has been growing for the past years. Peter Zabo, owner of Manor Glass, helped with replacement glass for doors and windows that had been broken. As progress continues more local contractors will be hired. A few photos of the progress being made as Lyon Street Pub gets ready to open soon!

One Church Street is a community center in Johnstown, NY that sponsors the NOAH (Needy or Alone and Hungry) Free Community Meal and the Johnstown Food Pantry. Our mission is to continue to be a vital resource by nourishing our community in body, mind and spirit. Info@onechurchstreet.org ~ (518) 762-9210 We were able to serve so many of our neighbors in 2021--over 1200 households at the Food Pantry received enough food for over 68,000 meals (households can contain up to ten people), and our NOAH program served approximately 4,000 hot, homemade meals to our community on Sundays.

Nourishing our community - our mission and our passion.

The NOAH program serves a hot, nutritious, free meal every Sunday to every person who wishes to attend. No questions are asked. This program has operated for the past 30 years, and serves nearly 500 meals each month. During the COVID crisis, the NOAH program has not missed one Sunday of serving meals. Modifications have been made so each participant takes home two hot, nutritious meals rather than being seated in the dining room as was the practice prior to COVID. Through our renovations to the One Church Street building, we want to be ready when the COVID pandemic has subsided to serve our community with a new, larger, handicapped-accessible dining room and multi-purpose kitchen. The roots of One Church Street go deep into our community. Our iconic building – which is located at One Church Street in Johnstown, New York – once served as a YMCA, a post office and a center for health and information in the community. Go to our website to learn more about our plans: www.onechurchstreet.org. You can be a part of this transformation of both our building and our community. Your contribution, whether it’s ideas, time or money, will be remembered for generations.

The Johnstown Historical society is a group of people concerned with preserving the history of the City of Johnstown. It is a not-for-profit organization that runs and maintains the Johnstown Historical Museum and the Drumm House. If you would like to visit the museum contact Noel Levee at (518) 705-7440 or come by and ring the bell!

The Johnstown Historical Society was formed when it’s first slate of officers were elected and installed on May 30th, 1892. It was started by 11 civic-minded citizens who were concerned that relics and old documents were being dumped instead of preserved. It’s current location at 17 North William Street was purchased by the Society in 1959 with funds from an anonymous donor. This building currently houses the Museum, Archives and Library.

Lead Poisoning 101 Montgomery County Lead Poisoning Prevention Program

Q: How do I know if my child has Lead Poisoning? A: The only way to know if your child has lead poisoning is to have your child tested. All children should be tested at 1 and 2 yrs. of age.

Q: How can I learn if the home or apartment is safe from lead hazards? A: Ask for a copy of the apartments lead certificate. Many landlords do not have this. Landlords are required to disclose in writing any lead hazards BEFORE you move in. Before moving in LOOK at the

What is Lead? Lead is a naturally occurring element. It has some beneficial uses, but can be toxic to humans and animals causing ill side effects.

Where is Lead found? Lead can be found in all parts of our environment - the air, the soil, the water, and even inside of our homes. Lead paint is still present in millions of homes, sometimes under layers of newer paint. If the paint is in good condition, then lead paint is usually not a problem. Deteriorating lead - based paint (peeling, chipping, chalking, cracking, damaged, or damp) is a hazard and needs immediate attention. It may also be a hazard when found on surfaces that children can chew or that get a lot of wear-and-tear, such as: Windows and windowsills; Doors and door frames; Stairs, railings, banisters, and porches. 26 We Call Call This This HOME HOME -- Spring/Summer Spring 2022 26 -- We 2022

The KEY to a great HOME Buying or Selling Experience can be found right here in our own communities. Call upon any of these professionals when considering your next real estate transaction.

There are many reasons why you might want to find out what the current value of your home is… You’ve probably heard...it’s a seller’s market! Never a better time to sell! Values have rebounded and then some. It is important for you as a property owner to know what your current home or property is worth.

Are you insured properly? Is it time to increase coverage? With the current outrageous cost of construction your replacement value should be evaluated and adjusted. Is it time to refinance and shed your FHA premium or PMI? If your equity is more than 20% then it is time to get rid of that extra monthly fee which in some cases may require refinancing your home.

Are you estate planning? You will want to know the value of your property in such decisions.

Perhaps you are considering upsizing, downsizing or relocating out of the area? KATHLEEN GORDON New York State Licensed Real Estate Broker/Owner

A trusted Realtor can be relied upon to educate you on current value, area market conditions, and advise you how to maximize your current home value. What upgrades should be done before putting it on the market and what may be optional? I’m often asked “why should I paint if my buyer is going to paint anyway”. Buyer’s appreciate super clean, neutral spaces that they can live in until time allows their own decorating and improvements to be made. Freshly painted clean homes will always sell for more than homes that show significant wear and tear or are very personalized in colors and decorating. Clean the curtains or buy some inexpensive new ones without busy designs. Replace door handles, cabinet hardware and make sure closet doors are on track. In the bathroom, clean the grout and shine up the fixtures. A neutral space will be best for potential buyers to visualize themselves in your home. Before showing your home, pack up your personal photos, and decor and consider asking a home stager to help you. A stager will know how to move your existing furniture around to maximize the space and make rooms look larger to potential buyers. If you have toured a builder’s spec home, you may remember it is always a warm, neutral interior. Also, remember that first impressions are super important. The minute the buyers step out the car, they are already forming an opinion of your home. Consider the landscaping and curb appeal. Some inexpensive shrubs may be all you need or a fresh coat of paint and a wreath on the front door. Your realtor can point out all of these things and help you get your home sold faster with advice based on years of expertise. No matter what your reason may be to learn the value of your home, it will certainly be a benefit.

Contact a Realtor today! You may be surprised at how much your property has appreciated in the past few years.

As you know, buying a home is not as simple as deciding you want one. There are financial considerations that need to be put in place preferably BEFORE you even start looking. Our area has many professionals that can help you be ready! EXPERT TIPS FOR FIRST TIME BUYERS

Tip #1

“Thinking of buying your first home sometime this year? These insider tips will help you get prepared.”

SAVE, SAVE, SAVE - You need money for more than the down payment!

There are several low-down payment mortgage options available for first time homebuyers. In most cases you will need at least 3-3.5% of the price for your “down payment” (that’s around $6-7K for a $200k home). You will also have to pay the one-time charges called closing fees (such as title insurance, mortgage tax, appraisal, attorney, etc.). Those can range between $4000-9000 depending on how much you are borrowing and the county the home is in. Last you will need money for upfront costs called “pre-paid” items. They include per diem interest, pro-rated property and school taxes and the first year of homeowner’s insurance. It is important to get a detailed estimate from your mortgage expert and discuss how you will pay for them before you start shopping for a home. JESSICA LEE BRATE Licensed Mortgage Originator NMLS 56711 Homestead Funding Corp. Licensed Mortgage Banker NYS Department of Financial Services NMLS 3232

Office: (518) 464-1100 Mobile: (518) 505-1304 Fax: (518) 205-7137 jbrate@homesteadfunding.com

Tip # 2

CHECK YOUR CREDIT SCORE - Your interest rate and loan eligibility depend on it!

You will want to have your mortgage expert run your credit before you shop for a house. That can be done as early as 6 months ahead of time if you don’t think your score is over 740 (top tier). Those with credit scores over 740 will be eligible for the lowest rates and for every 20 points lower than 740, the rate may increase. Keep in mind that the interest rate you get has a significant impact on the payment and can make a difference when determining your monthly mortgage budget. Your score will also dictate which loan programs you are eligible for. Note, if you are getting your credit score yourself through an online app such as Credit Karma be aware that they are not providing the same scoring model that mortgage lenders use and your score from a mortgage company will likely be lower.

Tip # 3

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER - All mortgage pre-qualifications are not equal 8 Airline Drive Albany, NY 12205

Many lenders churn out a pre-qualification letter for you online over the phone in a matter of 10 minutes and it simply shows the maximum mortgage amount you can borrow. You deserve to know the details about costs, rates, programs and most importantly HOW MUCH house you can buy based on your preferred monthly payment range. Of course buying your first home will be a bit stressful but if you feel uncomfortable about the process or about asking questions then you should find a mortgage professional that will take their time and educate you as well as answer all of your questions. Ask an experienced realtor for a lender referral. Preparing to buy your first home is not something you want to rush through.

FOSTER PARENTS NEEDED! Right now, there are children in your community who need supportive, loving foster homes and foster parents. Being a foster parent isn’t easy—it takes a big commitment, a lot of understanding, and plenty of support. It also takes knowledge, and it’s vitally important that prospective foster parents know what’s true and what’s false throughout the process. The best way to counter a myth is with a fact, so we’ve put together a list of common misconceptions surrounding foster care.

UPCOMING

A Few Myths and Facts about Foster Care MYTH: I could never be a foster parent because I am not married and I don’t make a lot of money. I don’t even own my own home. FACT: There are no such requirements. We have foster parents who are not married, who are single, who own homes, or who rent a home or apartment. The only financial requirement is that you have enough income to support yourself and your family aside from the stipend you are reimbursed for the care of a child in foster care. MYTH: Foster parents have to stay at home with the children and are unable to have their own jobs or careers. FACT: We have many foster parents who are stay at home, yet we have just as many who work outside of the home.

Amsterdam’s

Southside

MYTH: My children are grown and out of the house. I am too old to be a foster parent. FACT: The only age requirement is that foster parents be at least age 21. We have many “empty nesters” who find foster parenting to be a rewarding experience. MYTH: You need to have parenting experience to be a foster parent, and I’ve never raised any children. FACT: Not true! We have many foster parents who do not have children. These foster parents are responsible people who have made a commitment to children and demonstrate an ability to parent and have a willingness to learn parenting skills.

MYTH: Foster children have been abused so much that they are beyond help. I wouldn’t really be making a difference anyway. FACT: We have found children are amazingly resilient. Foster parents who can provide a structured, predictable, and nurturing environment can make a big difference for children. These children will grow up to be adults in our communities. The way we respond now to their needs will impact the kind of adult they become in the future. Above are just a few, see more myths and facts at:

Fulton County Animal Crimes Task Force is Created Multiple agencies combine strengths to fight animal crimes in Fulton County, NY. GLOVERSVILLE, NY - The Fulton County Regional SPCA and the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office are proud to announce the formation of the Fulton County Animal Crimes Task Force. The task force is a multi-agency network that will respond to and prosecute allegations of animal abuse, neglect, and cruelty in Fulton County, New York. The group will collaborate to investigate reported animal crimes and/or situations of animal neglect throughout Fulton County and utilize the resources available to work toward achieving justice on behalf of the animals. “This task force was created to be the voice for animals who have none. We need to do better to protect such helpless animals; those who love us unconditionally and only ask that we love and protect them in return. Our goal is to create a network of professionals throughout Fulton County who will work together to efficiently investigate and prosecute animal abuse cases. We want to make sure that not only our law enforcement officers, but the general public know what to look for and what to do when they suspect or observe animal abuse. It is very important that these offenders are prosecuted effectively while ensuring that the offender does not reoffend. I am very proud to say we have some of best people on this task force and Thhee FFuultltoon am excited to get to work. I want to leave you with one quick reminder, if n CCoouunnty ty TTa sk FFoorc ask a rcee isis aa mu you see something, say something. Visit our website and send us a mesaggeennccy y nneetw twoork lti-multi rk crreeaate c te invveesti sage if you suspect animal abuse or call your local law enforcement agento re in dd to resp stiggaate spoonndd to te aanndd ppro to ro ,, seccu se cy.” says Acting District Attorney Amanda Nellis. te aannim ute nneeggle imal lecctt a “We have the privilege of and a responsibility to educate the community and its Law Enforcement Officers about these crimes. We are confident that having a dedicated and focused animal welfare team spanning the County will strengthen our collective ability to making a difference in the lives of animals in the community we all serve” states FCRSPCA President Renee L. Earl “Gloversville Police Department takes crimes against animals very seriously and has worked well with Fulton County Regional SPCA and surrounding agencies in the past. We look forward to working together as a task force to pool our resources and increase our knowledge on these matters.” comments Gloversville Police Department’s Chief Anthony Clay. One important component of the Task Force are the members of the Fulton County Probation Department. “Conviction on animal abuse and animal cruelty charges implies an inherent inability to provide appropriate care to animals in the future. Since serious and violent animal cruelty offences are often associated with other crimes, it is imperative to hold perpetrators accountable with such sentences as a substantial period of probation supervision to allow for treatment and rehabilitation of offenders. With a period of probation, a judge can ban an offender from owning or possessing animals, as well as have all affected animals be forfeited to an animal protection organization for rehoming and placement. In addition, while the ban of owning or possessing animals is in effect, the judge can request that probation officers be permitted to make unannounced home visits as a term of probation to ensure that this provision is enforced” explains Cheryl Galarneau, Fulton County Probation Dept. Director. “The task force is a welcome new tool providing training and investigative support in our County. Having the ability to collaborate with a team of professionals that are dedicated to the welfare of animals will be an incredible resource for the County. The Fulton County Sheriff ’s Department is looking forward to the partnership the task force brings and the successes which can be achieved as we share resources, knowledge, and expertise across agencies and professions.” says Fulton County Sheriff Richard Giardino. The Task Force meets bi-monthly while keeping in constant communication in between meetings. The community is welcomed to visit the website at https://actf.fcrspca.org. “We are undoubtedly stronger together and we are all working toward the same goal of advocating for and protecting the animals in our community.” says Earl. source: www.fcrspca.com (April 17, 2022) Fulton County Regional SPCA

DUKE

1 ½ yrs old

Neutered Male Was adopted out at 4.5 mos and returned at 15 mos He got too big for his family.

Duke is a very friendly boy he is in a house with many other dogs and he does great but he does best with females. He is crate trained he would need a very extra large crate. He is housebroken. He has a gentle soul. Needs some manners. Learning how to walk on a leash. He is strong! He loves to ride in the car. He needs lots of room. We want him to have a fenced-in yard. He is about 110 pounds. Really great boy! He is not going to be adopted out on a farm.

COMET

3 yrs old

Neutered Male Such a friendly and quiet boy. Currently lives with many other foster dogs and does great!

This poor sweet friendly boy has suffered neglect and torment for a long time by his humans in Virginia. He has been through several rounds of antibiotics and medicated baths. Look past his appearance and welcome him in to your family.

TY

7 yrs old

Neutered Male Sadly, he has spent his entire life on a chain and all he wants is his own family and a spot on the couch!

Ty is so friendly and happy go lucky. He is housetrained, very laid back, will make a great family dog. He has been housebroken since arriving. It would be easiest for him to be an only dog. Needs a home without a lot of commotion. He has been in a separate foster home for 4 months. He did meet a cat and didn’t really care.

Our Future Plans...

Ultimately, we will still be constructing, funding, operating, and maintaining a new animal shelter with an on-site spay-neuter clinic in our community to best serve the animals in the region. There is still a dire need for help in the stray and unwanted animal population. It is our goal to provide immediate shelter and care for any and all homeless or abused animals and shelter them until such time as they are redeemed to their owners, adopted into new families. We intend to provide services 24 hours a day, 7 days a-week, and respond to the public and municipalities that we serve. Also, by actively seeking grants and funding, we hope to help reduce the stray animal population to zero by participating in any spay/neuter programs available and to actively promote education, training, and public awareness. The new shelter will have space for education classes and the facilities for on-site low cost spay/neuter, rabies, and microchip clinics.

Watch for fundraisers throughout the year and/or if would like to donate please contact the shelter. Thank you!
