C RICKET F INE A RT Invites you to the Preview Day of

M A L C O L M T AY L O R ‘HOOK, LINE & SINKER’ on Tuesday 13th May, 2014 to meet Malcolm Taylor who will be at the gallery between 11am - 4pm (The Exhibition continues until 24th May) Malcolm Taylor was born in 1948 in the North West of England where he still lives. He is a painter of landscapes and still life who, for the past few years, has worked in an increasingly abstract format. Malcolm uses his many sketchbook studies and drawings as a starting point from which a fully abstract image develops. Often he does not have a fixed form in mind, preferring to let the imagery evolve through the process of painting. Much of this shift from representational painting to a more abstract approach has been inspired by his many visits to St Ives, where the rich tradition of abstract art has held a special interest for him. Malcolm has been painting for over thirty years but also had a long career working as a principal designer and ending up as an Associate Director with a renowned design consultancy which designed the Millennium Bridge and Sydney Opera House amongst many other projects. He is a member of the Manchester Academy of the Fine Arts and the Royal Glasgow Institution of Fine Art. Malcolm’s work has been exhibited at galleries throughout the UK and also at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and at major London art fairs. He was a recent prize winner at The Pastel Society UK exhibition and his work is held in collections all over the world.

Paintings are for sale on receipt of the catalogue.
