Mayoral debate at Northside

NewsTalk 96.5 and Sports Orthropedic and Spine hosted a Mayoral debate at Northside School auditorium Thursday evening.

The debate included 5 of the 6 candidates who qualified to be on the ballot for Mayor for the City of Jackson. Incumbent Mayor Scott Conger is being opposed by five oppo- nents which include:

City Court Clerk Daryl Hubbard, Educator Lisa Williams-Lyons, precious 2019 Mayoral candidate Dr Jerry Woods, automotive software manager, Ray Condray and Paul Sherrod who did not show up for the debate. He had been arrested in charges of domestic assault according to records at the Madison County jail.

He was still in custody and has a bond of $90,000 which had been set for 3 charges.

All candidates had opportunities to share their vision for the City of Jackson and each made their case for why the citizens should cast their votes for them.

Mayor Conger noted major investments in Jackson over time are the basis for his “progress over perfection”
