Each year as fishing season nears I try to find valuable information that will add to your toolbox and put more fish in the cooler. Todays tips come from different professional fishermen who offer advise from their perspective. I think the one that is so important and easy is to constantly check your line throughout the day to make sure it is not frayed or twisted. Many trophy fish are lost due to weak lines which are preventable. It is a good idea to have a strategy and a game plan when fishing depending on what type of fishing you are doing. Luck is always great but a plan of action yields far greater results. Have rods rigged ahead of the trip and save yourself a lot of time fishing and not fixing reels. Bait that worked last time might and might not work this time. If your favorite bait is not working then move on to something else. Fish are funny and you never know what peaks their interest that day. Always remember that presentation is key when the bait enters the water as to not spook the fish. Fish like to attack their prey but they don’t want to be attacked. Whatever depth that most fish are caught at is the depth you need to stay with because they are usually suspended in the same school. It is true that they attend schools and if you don’t study fishing schoolwork they will be smarter than you. Be sure to study your fish school lesson so you can be smarter than the fish you are after.
