MARABLE, DESTIN T B/M DRIVING REV/SUSP/EXP LICENSE, SPEEDING MARTIN, ERICA JOY B/F FILING FALSE REPORT

His major points were the reduction of the city’s debt, and investments in existing infrastructure improvements.

Candidate Lisa Williams-Lyons said as a resident of east Jackson “ she said there is a lack of “equity in the distribution of resources” that she understands first hand as being a part of one of those underserved communities”. She said both public and private partnerships to better serve and even out the allocation of resources”

Candidate and City court clerk Daryl Hubbard spoke about various issues involving Jackson’s youth and their relationship with the police, and the disconnect in schools. Hubbard also indicated troubling news out of city hall with missing monies and the lack of support he has received from the Mayor since Conger took office, he complained that Conger has never offered to help improve conditions at city court” Condray noted according to data released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 2022, that “Jackson has a violent crime rate higher than the state and National averages”

In an effort to combat crime and lower those statistics, Condray said “he plans to be proactive with resources we have now to reduce crime in Jackson” He said “we need law and order” and make sure our police department has all resources needed, we don’t need to buy into this lawlessness of defunding the police” about family values, Woods notes the lack of inclusion for different types of families. He explained there is an assumed “ideal family” but that single parent families often get excluded from that conversation”

“We don’t want to draw our family with a broad brush” said Woods

We need to make sure police have everything needed to do their jobs” we will make our City safe die families so we can enjoy living here in Jackson”

Dr Jerry Woods said in a rebuttal to Condray’s comment

Current Mayor Conger defeated Dr Jerry Woods in the 2019 election by a vote of 3,802 or 34.14% to Woods 3,069 votes or 27.56%

Voters can cast their votes in the upcoming city election on May 2
