By Bill Marable Meet Lewis Jenkins. He’s a 29 year-old Humboldt native who until recently had only minor altercations with law enforcement; i.e. a few traffic stops and the such. Several months ago, according to Lewis’ mother Angela Mathis, he began displaying signs of mental instability. Mathis says her son began doing odd things like running around in the yard, rolling in the grass, or even, in more extreme cases, banging his head on the pavement. During one episode about a month ago, Mathis claims that Emergency Medical Services (EMS) was called to help subdue Lewis. That’s when things went terribly awry for Lewis.
