TRAINING SESSION

Training sessions will be applied a means of maintaining or increasing levels of bike use along the Canal. They will induct existing or potential cyclists bike handling, various cycle-craft skills and educating members on cycling, remake, pedal power, waste collection, remake and the safe use of Canal towpaths. Bicycle training schemes will be differentiated according to whether they are aimed at children/parents/teachers, youth or adults. Sessions will be held at the DOT TO DOT Maryhill Station located in 636 Maryhill Rd. from March to June 2018.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR BIKES Every bicycle has to come with: · Any hand-operated brakes arranged left-hand rear, right-hand front · A bell · White or yellow reflectors on both sides of each wheel or tyre · A white wide-angle front reflector, or a front lamp · A red wide-angle rear reflector · Yellow reflectors front and rear on each pedal

Every cyclist has to come with: · Follow the Highway Code (UK) – don’t jump red lights or cycle on the pavement · In wet weather watch your speed as surfaces may be slippery · Ride positively, decisively, and well clear of the kerb · Consider wearing a helmet · Keep your bike roadworthy
