In 2008–9, John Agnew was President of the Association of American Geographers. John won the 2003–2004 Guggenheim Award, and in 2006 he received the UCLA Distinguished Teaching Award. He has been a Visiting Professor at numerous universities including Cambridge, Chicago, Queen’s Belfast, Durham, and Siena.
