Dear Staff, Below you will find this week's "Sunday Shares." Take a look at what you can, and come back to the rest by the end of the week. Online Resources: 1. 2. 3.

Anchor Papers at The Write Source --I don't remember who I was talking about anchor papers about, but this one jumped directly into my mind. SMART Board tips --56 tips to be exact. Can you add to the list of tips? What's something that is helping you? SHARE! 5 Ways to Engage Parents --Blog post from a pretty informative site. The topic is interacting and planning with parents. Two ways I would like to promote is using Twitter and a hashtag for communication. In addition, you could use a collaborative Google Doc to help plan parties or class projects. What else can you think of? Skype an Author --This program connects classrooms with "real" authors. 20 Web 2.0 Sites not Requiring Student Email Accounts --Here is a list of sites that don't require student emails to log into the website. Biblionasium --Check out this free resource to sign your kids up with an online education system. This video can help explain how this website works. 25 Pinterest Boards in Educational Technology- For all of you Pinterest Fans out there, is a great list of 25 Pinterest boards in to follow regarding educational technology.

Pages ’09 Assistance: The following link will provide you with a several user guides and additional support with iWorks ‘09 (i.e. Pages, Keynote, and Numbers). Please use these guides for when you are frustrated and no one is around to assist you. I would also recommend using the Help menu bar option. This Help tab within the menu bar actually works fairly well. Twitter and Sharing Resources: As usual, join me on Twitter for your own finds. If you find resources worth sharing, send them my way, and I will share them with the staff and cite your contribution. One educator that likes to share with the world of educators is Cybrary Man. Refer to his page of resources for almost all occasions. If you can think about any theme related to education, it is safe to say he has a resource page focused on the subject. Julie Nomanson is on my special praise list this week because she lost her Global Read Aloud connection and took the initiative to find a new class connection. The most interesting part is the class is from Czechoslovakia (Siri helped me spell that). Because of the time zone difference, the classes won’t be able to contact with each other synchronously (real-time), but they will connect asynchronously with the Kidblog platform. Julie also created Kidblog accounts for her students. Great work Julie! -- Dan Gibson
