PISTON POWER SHOW

It was great to see Cleveland’s IX Center once again hosting the Piston Power Show after a twoyear hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The number of show cars and spectators may have been down a bit, but the fact it happened was extremely rewarding. Vehicles of numerous descriptions from all around the country and Canada competed for awards in a host of classes.
Cruisin’ Times Magazine was again center stage. The 2022 edition of John Shapiro’s Cruisin’ Times All Stars were stationed in their traditional place down a main aisle. These vehicles are handpicked throughout the summer show/cruise season and together they bring back fond memories for participants and spectators alike. The Slick Devils Car Club partnered with Gasser Madness LLC (website) to recreate the “Land of the Gasser” in the west end on the I-X Center appropriately called The Hot Rod Asylum. The club focuses on preservation of the Gas class drag racing from the ‘50s and ‘60s especially from the Ohio and Pennsylvania areas. Don Moyer and the Slick Devils created some really kool homemade trophies to present to their class winners.
