Crunkatlanta Magazine 2015
Who is Crunkatlanta? I am Eric aka Crunkatlanta & Promotewho.com ( no longer being used) The Internet Promoter, the one that is in love with Hip Hop. Follow me on Twitter @crunkatlantaMag . Born and raised in Detroit, MI. Yep, I'm from Seven Mile Rd and GreenfieldWhuddup Doe!! My first inspiration to get involved in the industry was when I found out that nobody heard of any Detroit rappers outside of Detroit ( Michigan). My first gig was with a friend (“T”) that I assisted with promoting Cam’ron back when he was a lil chunky in 1997. From there I found what my purpose was supposed to be. My all time fantasy career was to become a quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons. Once that dream was cut short from not getting the response back from -tryouts and competition over the years. I became hooked on music and brand marketing. http://www.crunkatlanta.com Wanna do business or have questions..

Marc iLL Song Title: Frontin Music Description: Marc iLL serenades a girl who is "frontin" on giving him the time of day in this playful hip hop tune. Artist Bio: Marc iLL is a former division 1 basketball star turned emcee. He hails from the DMV and has gained buzz with his witty wordplay and heartfelt stories. He recently dropped a mixtape entitled, iLLuminati, on his website: www.marcillmusic.com.
With partner Bun B, rapper Pimp C (born Chad Butler) formed UGK and helped put hardcore Houston, TX hip-hop in the spotlight, but he's also known for being at the center of a street-level campaign that sold nearly as many T-shirts as the "Yayo's Home" and "Frankie Say Relax" phenomena. UGK's rise began in 1988, and with a slow and steady series of albums and guest appearances, they became one of the most respected crews from Texas. This all came to a halt in January 2002 when the rapper was sentenced to eight years in prison after violating probation by ignoring the community service sentence he had received from an earlier aggravated gun assault charge. Bun B carried on and spread the "Free Pimp C" message wherever he could. The campaign spawned thousands of unlicensed "Free Pimp C" T-shirts. In early 2005, while he was still on lockdown, Pimp C's solo debut, Sweet James Jones Stories, appeared, and it didn't take fans long to figure out that even if the beats were new, at least a quarter of the album was put together from previously released vocal tracks. At the end of the year, right before he reached the halfway mark of his sentence, Pimp C was released from prison. Fans got their true Pimp C solo album when Pimpalation appeared in the summer of 2006. Tragically, in December of 2007, Pimp C was found dead in his hotel room in West Hollywood from an accidental overdose of promethazine and codeine (common ingredients of “purple drank”). An album he was working on at the time of his death, The Naked Soul of Sweet Jones, was completed by Rap-A-Lot president J. Prince and the Pimp’s wife, Chinara Butler, for a 2010 release. Further recordings were issued in summer 2011 as Still Pimping. ~ David Jeffrie

SMG 20-something rapper YIM has released the first single off his upcoming EP Suburban Funk Vol.1, entitled "Rafiki's Waltz" - an under-produced, head nodding tribute to riding dirty with a jangly melody and hard-hitting bass. Suburban Funk is to be released in weekly installments over the next 4 Sundays.
Artist Bio: A full-fledge young professional by day and rapper/producer/blogger by night, Yim encapsulates the awkward transition from a privileged life in the suburbs to a less-glamourous adult life with responsibility. Obsessed with all things juvenile and longing for release, his music is determined to not take itself too-seriously while romanticizing everything hip-hop has come to know and love, low-lighted by production that does just enough to burrow its ways into your memory banks.
E.BANDIT E. Bandit Bio Infatuated with the art of lyricism from a very young age, VA-bred emcee E. Bandit’s earliest memories of music include obsessing over artists’ lyrics, writing them down as she would listen, reciting them repeatedly until they were second nature and had become a part of her mental rolodex — a hobby that she feels helped hone her own writing ability. By the age of 9, she’d penned her first original tune, and began exploring song creation on a more consistent basis. Her initial tracks were of a poetic nature — her repertoire contained mainly R&B music and ballads — but she’d still exercise her lyrical talent via freestyles with friends and short features, which she’d donned “P. Diddy verses." It wasn’t until she entered college that she met students that were emcees and were involved in the local music scene, and began taking the craft more seriously. By this time, she was 18, and was experiencing more in life that needed expressing, and the music, along with becoming the perfect avenue, became an even more integral part of her life. "Music is literally my lifeline. To me, music is that friend that is always there for you no matter what you may be going through or feeling at any time of the day or night, never turning her back. Music is the best love I could ever know.” In 2010, she released her first full project, Clinically F!CKED, followed by Mischief & Mayhem in 2011, BAD NITE in 2013, and her latest release, BAD NITE II: The Arsonist, which was released May 2015.All of E. With its roots established in 1985, the JNCO brand catapulted from a Los Angeles cult brand to global recognition in the 1990’s through its groundbreaking denim line. Non-conformist, innovative and truly original, JNCO immersed itself in the skate, music and art counterculture that was undoubtedly Southern California. What emerged was more than a brand – JNCO defined a way of life that pushed the limits, encouraged creativity and championed individuality creating the original lifestyle brand that became the foundation of the 90’s youth generation.
Presently, JNCO is guided by its main principle: “Challenge conventionalism. Explore the unfamiliar. Honor individuality.” Through this platform, JNCO aspires to bring together the chosen ones – a multitude of like-minded individuals with a shared passion for culture, sports and the arts, on a collective journey that will strengthen their position as the leaders of today’s society.
Propelled by its profound objective, JNCO aims to place itself at the forefront of street fashion by providing today’s youth with well-curated collections that utilize a strong, forward-thinking vision with denim at its core. By gathering influences from the world of sports, music and high fashion, JNCO is pushing boundaries once again while staying true to the street/skate culture that is deeply rooted in its DNA. Through the use of experimental fits, cutting-edge techniques and application of fresh, unconventional fabrications, JNCO sets to defy the rules of street wear and re-establish a brand and aesthetic that is purely in a class of its own.

“COMMUNICATON STATION”
Lack of communication doesn’t benefit any situation, and could potentially ruin reputations. When failing in the communications department the tension creates aggravation that isn’t healthy for mental stimulation. It is advisable not to assume that others can and will read your mind. Everyone is different and doesn’t always relate to the same thought process as yourself. Make sure your voice is heard , yet understood. Behind misunderstandings come consequences that can destroy friendships, interfere with families and trust no one wants that agony. Interpretation plays a major one when translating your message, and we don’t want no one getting the wrong impression. Don’t forget to always ask topic related questions to ensure that you get the correct and appropriate answers. It is recommended to engage in occasional direct chatter from time to time. Text messages and emails aren’t always reliable for conveying clear communication. Expression and tone can usually be felt during phone conversations Think of communication as an presentation with regulations. In hopes that some take this advice under consideration: it is, known that conversation rules the nation. Some of us aren’t good at communicating; therefore, it is suggested to grab a pen and pad to jot down thoughts, questions, and ideas. However, I’m not saying write a whole speech on how you fantasize about being on the beach, sipping margarita’s from your seat. That sounds sweet, but back to communication is a key., don’t you agree? Always listen first before jumping to conclusions, or placing judgement. Words have meaning that will make you feel happy or crappy, or even intimidated. There are some whom make it impossible to even attempt communication, so make it possible for you to turn around, and walk away to end further communication. This is always the best way to avoid confrontation, but these are only optional alternatives. I guess you’ll react in accordance to how you live to keep it real.

OH REALLY!
Them: I can! Response: Oh Really! You just asked if you could borrow money.
It’s almost certain that in 2016 “Oh Really!” will take on a whole new meaning. Dreamers will keep dreaming, while others continue their plotting and scheming. Let’s not forget those who do , and say without a purpose, nor meaning with their secrets, lies and false alibi’s. There will always be the some out here trying to outsmart those wise in their owns eyes, but blinded by their own disguise. Go for it, do it, try it, but “Oh Really will still be the reply for perpetrators, under estimators, violators, instigators, and doubters, and let’s not forget the ballers and shot callers.
“The Oh Really Scenario” Them: I’m broke Response: Oh Really! Them: Yeah, I lost all my whole paycheck at the casino last night. Response: Oh Really! Them: I might have to borrow a few dollars until I get paid again. Response: Oh Really! Them: Yeah, I have to win my money back. This one machine was hot.k Response: Oh Really! Them: Yeah , my light bill due and I need gas for work next week. Response: Oh Really! I think you have a gambling problem. Them: No I don’t! Everybody has a habit. Response: Oh Really! True, but you should be able to support your own habit.
Them: So are you saying you not going to loan me the money? Oh Really! Response: That’s exactly what I’m saying! Them: Oh Really!
Response: Yes, but what I can do is put this few dollars in your tank, so you can make it to work. Because I’m going to need my few dollars back on pay day.
“INDIE DRAFT 2016” First let’s get to know where and how the idea came into play courtesy of 585 Solutions. 585 Solutions is a graphic design firm located in Rochester N.Y, about 6 hours outside of NYC. The firm is focused on making dreams a reality while motivating others to become everything they’ve envisioned. The firm is pride driven on their ability to stay hungry and humble in the game, 585 also believes Hip Hop is an expression of art that began prior to music becoming more mainstream focused. 585 describes the beginning of Hip Hop as an outlet given those who voices were going unheard, an opportunity to be spotlighted in the media. 585 quotes Hip Hop as being community news being broadcast through musical and poetic art. It is a movement that became a worldwide phenomenal “said the firm”.
Honestly , Hip Hop was inspired by independent artist , poets and DJ’s, explained 585 in addition to giving props to 70’s disco, Love Bug Starski, Afrikan Bambaata and of course Grand Master Flash. 585 Solutions expressed their love for east coast music while naming some of their favorites; such as, Run DMC, LL Cool J, Slick Rick, Fresh Prince & Jazzy Jeff, NWA, and KRS One to name a few. Standing out and being unique are two qualities 585 believe will help artist relate more with their fan base. “Be dope and unique, “exclaims” 585. while leaving something to the imagination. 585 was asked if the firm listened to mainstream music and their response was “the game has really changed”. 585 says there isn’t enough real spit focused on issues within the community , and personal lives. 585 Solutions listens to Indie music frequently stating that numerous artist, and managers message their music asking for an opinion. 585 expresses how honored they are to be a part of the indie artist journey. What is the difference between indie music and mainstream? The firm quotes “lyrics”, stating
mainstream artist are more focused on the same delivery. Girls, trapping cars, clothes, and drugs from main stream vs. struggles, stories, and hustle from indie artist. Who are some of your favorite mainstream artist? Their reply was 50 cent. Kendrick Lamarr, and umm umm, yeah not many these days, faulting record companies for a uniform formula that is hurting the Hip Hop community. When asked who were some of their favorite Indie artist the list grew tremendously. Silent Assasin, Money I’Z, Nicki Stack$, Kid 3rd, Mr. Lucci, London Jae, Jay Mizz,Mama Mia, and Jazi J “ there is too many to name stated 585. Maybe 50 cent, and Kendrick Lamar should get involved in the 2016 Draft to make a dream an reality for indie artist. There’s definitely more than enough indie artist to choose between quoted “Silent Assasin”. It is a must that mainstream and indie artist increase their networking amongst each other. 585 Solutions came up with the 2016 Indie draft, after watching the NFL draft and the idea hit “wouldn’t it be cool to have an indie draft” thought 585. It would be awesome if some of the Hip Hop moguls ; such as, Jay Z, Timberland, Missy and Dre could get involved in the indie artist draft. The draft has the potential to positively impact the Hip Hop community as a whole if indie artist bring the right attitude in preparation to be critiqued. It is hoped that fans will get involved encouraging labels to sign at least 5-10 artist during a summer draft. 585 Solutions would like the first draft to take place at the birth place of Hip Hop (South Bronx) then move around to different locations. The only way to make this dream a reality is to spread the word while continuing to support Indie Artist Industry.

If You Don't Wanna Stay, Just Walk Away,
It's About to Get Real!
But Then Don't Ever,
They Understand 2016!
Say I'm On My Way Back,
They Understand,
After You Were the One,
To Walk Together,
Who Chose to Pack,
Hand in Hand, Standing, And Commanding, Equal Rights, Tired of Sleepless Night's,
You Can't Keep Coming, In And Out of My Life, Thinking That I, Will Be Your Wife, You Can't Keep Coming,
Year's of Unfair Fight's,
In And Out of,
My Children Are Afraid,
My Life,
While Police are Still Paid, May I Suggest, Arrest's Be Made,
So Decide If Home, Is Where You Wanna, Be or Let Me, Set You Free
