Crunkatlanta Magazine 2015
Who is Crunkatlanta? I am Eric aka Crunkatlanta & Promotewho.com - The Internet Promoter, the one that is in love with Hip Hop. Follow me on Twitter @crunkatlantaMag . Born and raised in Detroit, MI. Yep, I'm from Seven Mile Rd and GreenfieldWhuddup Doe!! My first inspiration to get involved in the industry was when I found out that nobody heard of any Detroit rappers outside of Detroit ( Michigan). My first gig was with a friend (“T”) that I assisted with promoting Cam’ron back when he was a lil chunky in 1997. From there I found what my purpose was supposed to be. My all time fantasy career was to become a quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons. Once that dream was cut short from not getting the response back from -tryouts and competition over the years. I became hooked on music and brand marketing. http://www.crunkatlanta.com ( Promo page )

Los Angeles-based rapper/producer Chase Moore stays active like he wears a Fitbit that's wired to some sort of explosive device. Since releasing his last solo album Real Estate in August, he's produced entire albums for illmac (Still Standing), Bobby Bucher (LVL$) and OnlyOne (Royalties). Beyond production, he's contributed guest verses to many projects and recently teamed up with OnlyOne again for their collaborative Lo-Class EP. Without so much as a breather, he's back with a new single and is gearing up to release another new solo project sometime early this year. "Dripping Gold" is the first taste of the upcoming project. The track was produced by Chase and features Robb Anthony, illmac, and Chefboybonez. As Chase explains, "'Dripping Gold' was a song that was created at my crib in the early sessions for what would grow to be my new project, Sweet Aromatic. I made the beat on the spot and after many backwoods & some henny, we recorded the joint. This was us on our King Midas steez." @ChaseMooreMusic @RxbbAnthony @illmaculate @chefboybonez #SweetAromatic

FATT FATHER
CRUNKATLANTA MAGAZINE
THE LEADER OF THE FATT WORLD Widely recognized as a core-member of the Detroit Hiphop collective 'Fat Killahz', Fatt Father (born Shabazz Ford) has built a strong fan base via his work with the group, coupled with his own array of mixtapes and street projects ranging from the classic 'Tales of the Childless Father' to 'Father's Day' on to the well-crafted 'You are the Father' and 'Fatherly Advice'; all of which garnered Fatt Father a lot of support and praise within the underground Hiphop community. 'Guess Who's Coming To Dinner?', Fat Killahz debut album, paved the way for Fatt Father - along with his group - to share the stage with such Hiphop royalty as Ice Cube, 50 Cent, Method Man & Redman as well as Detroit's own Royce Da 5'9", Nolan The Ninja, Danny Brown, Slum Village, D12 and Trick-Trick to name but a few. His debut self-titled album - executive produced by himself alongside Trick Trick enabled Fatt Father to be recognized as a lyrical force even without his loyal comrades. Over the years Fatt Father has released soul touching music such as the unforgettable 'My Kids Need A Coat' which not only showcased his lyrical skill but also shined a light on his loyalty to his children. It was his sophomore album, 'Fatherhood', that solidified his figurative and literal place as a Hiphop heavy-weight. Fatt Father has also collaborated on records with lyrical all-stars such as Quelle Chris, Kuniva, Denmark Vessey, Sean Price, Guilty Simpson, Black Milk, Bishop Lamont, Roc Marciano, Ro Spit, Elzhi, and more... Fatt Father's consistent grind and devotion to his craft has led him to transcend locally and work with numerous artists around the globe. All the while Fatt Father has been in the kitchen, warming up the deep fryer, getting ready to serve his next course for hungry listeners and starved Hiphop heads the world over. Get a plate, because if you have been in search of some real Hip Hop, congratulations...YOU FOUND IT!!!

Ron Watts
Phat Kat (born Ronnie Watts) is perhaps best known for being a favorite collaborator of the late great J Dilla (aka Jay Dee). Phat Kat’s career began in the mid-90’s as a part of the group known as 1st Down; which consisted of Phat Kat as vocalist & J Dilla on production. A chance encounter in a Detroit record store with Gang Starr turned into an exchange of heaping praise onto one another; DJ Premier & Guru then put 1st Down in touch with their then label (Payday Records) where they signed a deal & released the classic “A Day With The Homiez". 1st Down may have been short-lived, but the two continued to collaborate on many occasions afterwards, starting with a celebrated appearance on “Fat Cat Song” & its eventual remix which appeared on Slum Village’s 'Fan-Tas-Tic, Vol. 1' (and it was later remixed by Flying Lotus), Dabrye’s “Game Over” featuring J Dilla, and into Dilla’s solo career, including appearances on 'Welcome 2 Detroit' & appearances on three subsequent Slum Village albums. Phat Kat also guested on Black Milk’s solo album 'Popular Demand'.
Phat Kat’s debut album 'The Undeniable LP' was released in 2004 on Barak Records & featured appearances from Slum Village, Dwele, Obie Trice, MC Breed, & Black Milk. Shortly thereafter, he released the J Dilla-produced single, “Cold Steel”, and followed it up with his sophomore album 'Carte Blanche', his most universally acknowledged project to date, which featured Elzhi, Black Milk, T3, House Shoes, & Guilty Simpson and production from Young RJ, Black Milk (4 tracks), & J Dilla (5 tracks).
CRUNKATLANTA MAGAZINE Not since the days of the Rhythm Kitchen and the Legendary Hip Hop Shop has Hip Hop seen such prominence put into the complex rhythm and masterful art of wordplay. As lyricism and content fade into obscurity within the growing hip hop culture, only a rare few continue to raise the bar for the craftsmanship of emcee. Among those few are seasoned Detroit emcee Orlando Vesey, better known by his stage name VStylez. It was during the last show ever performed by The Leaders of the New School that Veseys’ life changed. Experiencing the energy that emanated from the stage, the young Detroit born resident soon found his life’s calling. “It was seeing that show that made me realize that is what I wanted,” recalled Vesey. “I just had to make it happen for me, so I began practicing and exploring more of the art of emceeing by being a fixture in anything and everything hip hop related in Detroit.” With his aspiration set, Vesey has been professionally making records since 1997, building not just a name for him, but a reputation as a sincere and down-to-earth Boom Bap influenced emcee creating beats and rhythms that stray from the conventional cookie cutter sound that can be heard on the radio today. During his early years, Vstylez was first signed to the independent recording studio D Boy Records, where he later helped form the group Anomaly, which quickly received local and mixshow airplay on the leading urban stations.
