Who is Crunkatlanta? I am Eric aka Crunkatlanta & Promotewho.com - The Internet Promoter, the one that is in love with Hip Hop. Follow me on Twitter @crunkatlantaMag . Born and raised in Detroit, MI. Yep, I'm from Seven Mile Rd and GreenfieldWhuddup Doe!! My first inspiration to get involved in the industry was when I found out that nobody heard of any Detroit rappers outside of Detroit ( Michigan). My first gig was with a friend (“T”) that I assisted with promoting Cam’ron back in 1997. From there I found what my purpose was supposed to be. My all time fantasy career was to become a quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons. Once that dream was cut short from not getting the response back from -tryouts and competition over the years. And for the Day 1’s, or Day 6’s, 6LACK is treating them to snippets of unreleased music, the East Atlanta Love Letter movie that he premiered at his album release event at Starlight Drive-In Theatre in East Atlanta, never before seen photos, and more. Pronounced “Black,” the alternative R&B and three-time GRAMMY-nominated rapper/singer/songwriter has long considered the number six as a central part to his identity for several reasons: he was raised in Zone 6 of Atlanta, it’s his life path number, and also the name of his daughter (Syx). In 2018, 6LACK released his sophomore album East Atlanta Love Letter to critical acclaim and peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Top R&B Albums. After releasing his new single “ATL Freestyle,” 6LACK (LVRN/Interscope Records) follows up with the accompanying visual. In the JMP-directed video, his fans get to ride shotgun with 6LACK as he boards a private flight and ends up spending quality time with family and friends. The Fwdslxsh and Gravez-produced beat acts as the perfect backdrop to his long trip from his home in Los Angeles back to Atlanta to see his daughter. It’s a beautiful full circle moment that complements the flow of consciousness from the hood therapist. Yesterday 6LACK penned a personal letter to his fans addressing the release of his new song. He made it clear that he’s aware of the social climate due to police brutality and wants to use his platform to raise awareness in a constructive way.
