During the months of March and April, the Feinstein Foundation will divide $1 million among hunger fighting organizations across the nation. Donations of food and money given to Doors of Hope from March 1st to April 30th will be weighed and counted. Our bottom line is: the more donations made the more of the Feinstein challenge money we will get. In past years, this challenge has boosted food and money donations, and many schools, organizations, businesses, and churches have organized drives to help. One church challenged each member to donate his or her weight in food. It is a good reminder to keep our giving consistent throughout the year. Please consider joining us in this effort that makes individual donations go farther. ~Naomi Boel, D.O.H. Board Member

SHERIFF JACK MAHAR THANKS COMMUNITY FOR SUPPORT Sheriff Jack Mahar and the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office held a fundraiser this past Sunday in support of correctional officer, Ron Jacques, who with his family, suffered a devastating fire to their home recently. “It was my privilege to join together with the Rensselaer County community this weekend in holding this fundraiser for the Jacques family,” said Sheriff Mahar. “I am immensely proud of my correctional officers and deputies for the way they rallied around Ron.
