CLIFTON PARK – Finder’s Keeper’s Consignment Shop is co-sponsoring a fundraiser with the Latham Women’s Club on October 21 and 22, from 10-3pm. Proceeds will benefit those devastated by Hurricane Irene. The consignment shop is located at 1603 Route 9 North, Town Square Mall, Clifton Park. The shop has lots of wonderful clothing, shoes, bags and home items at very low prices. On October 22 there will be a ‘Gold Party’ where you can bring unwanted gold jewelry and get cash! Election Day Bake Sale Fundraiser HALFMOON – Books For Troops, a part of Operation Adopt A Soldier, Inc., is having an Election Day Bake Sale, Tuesday, November 8, at the Halfmoon Town Hall off Rt. 236 in Halfmoon. The sale will run from 8am-4pm. Books for Troops is an all volunteer, not-for-profit organization founded to gather and send paperback books to our troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. All proceeds will be used for funds to mail the books to our troops. (P)

Photo Contest STILLWATER – Saratoga National Historical Park is having a photo contest to select the photo to appear on its 2012 Annual Park Pass. Now thru November 4, visitors may submit up to 3 photos to be considered for next year’s Annual Pass. The winning photo will also be included in a special 2012 park calendar, and the photographer will receive a complimentary annual pass to the park. Each photo submitted must be: taken within park boundaries, JPG format with minimum 300 DPI resolution, no larger than 3 MB file size, and between 4�x6� and 8�x10� in size. All submitted photos will become the property of Saratoga National Historical Park, though photographers will be credited if their photo(s) is used in future park publications. A complete list of rules may be obtained by contacting Park Ranger Megan Stevens at 6649821 x219, or by e-mail at megan_stevens@nps.gov Submitted photos may also be sent to that e-mail address.
