The Culture of Graveyards and the Rural Cemetery. This program will review the history of the development of the “rural” cemetery movement. This includes the cultural aspects of graveyards, gravestones and the cemeteries. The program will be held at the Lake Luzerne Town Hall in Lake Luzerne, Wednesday, 9 November, 7PM – 9PM at 539 Lake Ave, Lake Luzerne, NY 12846. The program will be presented by Joan Aldous, retired teacher, genealogist and historian, in cooperation with the Luzerne Historical Society. The program is free to the public with light refreshments provided free as well.

The 90-minute one mile walking tour will combine information on the history and architecture of Saratoga Springs with background on the mysterious, para psychological aspects of our city. Tour groups will leave at 7 p.m. from Saratoga Starbucks at 381 Broadway on Wednesdays and Fridays in August, and Fridays only in September. In October the tours leave from Saratoga Arts at 320 Broadway on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for kids age 7-11, payment in cash at the door.
