Guided 4-1/2 hr. tour in the borough of Brooklyn … pizza, Coney Island and more!! Depart Senior Center at 6:30am; return approx. 8:30pm. Cost: $76/pp members & nonmembers. A Tribute to Our Veterans Show, Log Cabin at Holyoke, MA, on Wednesday, November 9 (sign up by 10/29). Celebrate our veterans with a fabulous day of music and patriotism! Hors d’oeuvres, dinner and dessert. Depart Senior Center at 9am; return approx. 5:30pm. Cost: $65pp members/$70pp non-members. Christmas Spectacular at Hilton Inn in Troy, NY, on Monday, November 21 (sign up by 11/04). Haunted Halloween Evening at the Wilburton Inn CAPITAL REGION – North East Paranormal Society is very excited to be hosting the first paranormal Halloween event, at the Historic mansion, the Wilburton Inn, Manchester, VT, Saturday, October 29. The evening will begin about 6pm with a meet and greet, fantastic buffet dinner, haunted history of the Manchester/VT area, raffles, evidence review from previous haunted locations along with our findings obtained during the first two paranormal investigations of the Wilburton Inn. You will get a chance to see actual footage of some of our past cases and the equipment used. Photos, video clips and class A, EVP’s (electronic voice phenomena). EXCAVATING WORK

WATERVLIET – During the month of October, the Friends of the Watervliet Library will be collecting lap robes and afghans for distribution to the Albany V. A. Hospital. Anyone wishing to donate items may drop them off at the Library, 1501 Broadway, Watervliet. The library is open Monday thru Thursday from 2-8pm, Friday from 2-6pm, and Saturday from 11am-3pm. (P)

2012 Historic Watervliet Calendars WATERVLIET – The 2012 Historic Watervliet Calendar is now available at the Watervliet Public Library (1501 Broadway, Watervliet) and the Watervliet Historic Museum (1501 First Avenue, Watervliet). Copies are $6 each or two for $10. This year’s theme is “Scenes from Our Past.” A limited number of calendars from previous years are also available. Proceeds from the sale of the calendar help support various library programs. (P)
