This Week’s Community Events more inside… Drug Take-Back Day GLENVILLE – On Saturday, October 29, the Drug Enforcement Administration will collect dangerous controlled substances from our nation’s medicine cabinets. A national take-back day will provide a unified opportunity for the public to surrender expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications to law enforcement officers. The Town of Glenville Police Department will host a collection site from 10am-2pm on Saturday, October 29, at the Police Dispatch window at the Municipal Center, 18 Glenridge Road. Controlled, non-controlled, and over-the-counter substances will be collected. This program is anonymous and all efforts will be made to protect the anonymity of individuals disposing of medications. No questions or requests for identification will be made. No effort will be made by law enforcement personnel to count, inventory, or log medications. Illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamine are not a part of this initiative. For details on how to prepare for disposal of medications properly, both solid and liquid, and for items that cannot be accepted, please visit the town’s website at www.townofglenville.org or call the non-emergency police department telephone number 384-3444.
