GLENS FALLS – The Glens Falls Figure Skating Club, based at the Glens Falls Civic Center, is currently competing for a Pepsi Refresh Grant for $5000. The grant money would be used to help fund the club’s learn-to-skate programs for local children and families so the club is able to help keep their program fees affordable. The skating club is asking for the public’s help in their quest for the grant. Everyone can vote by texting 108335 to Pepsi at 73774 once each day during the month of September. Voting can also be done online daily at www.refresheverything.com/gfskating. The club can get POWER votes (worth up to 100 additional votes) from the codes on the inside of yellow Pepsi bottle caps. Club officials are asking for anyone who drinks Pepsi to email the bottle cap codes to them at skateblades@gmail.com during the month of September. Specially marked boxes of cans also contain vote codes. Club members are also willing to pick up recycled bottles at your location upon request. Call 290-0758 to request a bottle pickup. The top 20 groups vying for a $5000 grant will be awarded funding. info@glensfallsfigureskating.com GlensFallsFigureSkating.com (P)
