Come and gain a healthier perspective Join the Sweethearts and Heroes movement. On Tuesday night, October 4, the South Glens Falls Middle School will host a one-of-a-kind presentation by Sweethearts and Heroes and the Oliver W. Winch Guidance Department. Sweethearts and Heroes is an anti-bullying organization that inspires kids with the heroic powers necessary to fight bullying. The purpose of this parent presentation is aimed at adjusting perspectives on Bullying. Tom Murphy and Jason Spector are the Co-Founders of Sweethearts and Heroes. This one-hour program is open to all parents and will begin at 6:30pm in the LGI. (P)

WILTON – There will be two art-inspired nature programs taking place at Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park in October. The first program will be held on Sunday, October 2 from 2-3pm at the Pavilion by Delegan Pond on Scout Road. The theme of the program is Adaptation Artistry and participants will be able to work with clay to discover the many advantages of bird adaptations. This program is for appropriate for children six years old and older. Parking is available in Parking Lot #1 on Scout Road. The second program will take place on Sunday, October 23 from 10-11:30am along the trails of Camp Saratoga. The theme of this art exploration is Nature Self-Portraits. Participants will go on a walk through Camp Saratoga for some nature discovery and to collect objects from nature to create their own self-portrait nature collage. This walk will not take place if there is rain and is appropriate for children four years old and older. Pre-registration for these free programs is not required, but it is always appreciated. The traditional closing event for the conference is always the Breakfast with Champions.
