Figure Skating Club GLENS FALLS – The Glens Falls Figure Skating Club is continuing to accept registrations for the 2011-2012 skating season. Learn-to-skate (Basic Skills) classes for ages 3 and up will be held on Saturdays from 8:45-9:45am, Sundays from 12:45-1:45pm, or Mondays from 7:15-8:15pm. Basic Skills classes include a 30-minute lesson and 30 minutes of practice time. Advanced figure skating ice time is available on Saturdays from 8:45-9:45am, Sundays from 12:45-2:15pm, or Mondays from 7:15-8:45pm and is open to all skaters for private lessons or practice time. An adult skating class will be offered on Sunday afternoons if there is sufficient enrollment. The season has officially begun, but new skaters are always welcome to join. NYC Bus Trip SARATOGA COUNTY – The Saratoga County Women’s Republican Club is sponsoring a bus trip to see the Radio City Christmas show on Friday, November 18. Master Gardener Volunteers Are Making a Difference WARREN COUNTY – In 2007, Warren County Master Gardener volunteers began working on Monday mornings, from early spring and over the summer, to introduce and gradually increase the number of plants at the Chamber of Commerce building in Chestertown. Together with others in the community, the Master Gardeners have helped create a pleasant and welcoming area around the building. They have also created a walkway around the flowerbeds and, with the added touch of a picnic table, it makes it a wonderful place to stop by for a while to enjoy. The Master Gardeners continue to add more plants that are native to NYS and they are adding labels to the plants. Using information gained from their Master Gardener training and information from the educators and scientists at Cornell University, the Master Gardeners are prepared to talk with people about the Chamber garden, about gardening organically, and also answer questions people may have about their own gardens.
