CONCLUSION The library resources area has a daylight factor of 6.8% and a natural illumination of 1140 lux. According to MS 1525, the recommended illumination level for library resources area is 500. Thus, double skin and double glazing low E glass is required to minimize the amount of lux in the space to prevent the books being damaged from direct sunlight.

1.2 ARTIFICIAL LIGHTING 1.2.1 ADMINISTRATION OFFICE The area that is selected is the Administrative Office that is located on the ground floor with a huge window facing a garden box that allows natural sunlight to penetrate in. Therefore, the use of artificial light is not needed. According to MS 1525, the minimum lighting level required for an admin office is 300.

Number of Luminairies across
=LXN/W = 4.75 x 6 / 2.8 = 3.2 ( take 3) Hence, 4.75 / 3 = 1.6m
Number of Luminairies along
=WXN/L = 2.8 X 6 / 4.75 = 1.8 ( take 2) Hence, 2.8 / 2 = 1.4m

FINAL LAYOUT
CONCLUSION 6 fluorescent lamps are used to achieve minimum of 300 lux for the administration office, as required in the MS 1525. With the aid of the glass wall, the usage of artificial lighting is minimal and hence promotes energy efficiency of the whole building. Although theres a glass wall that allows natural lighting to enter the area but during rainy days or late evenings, artificial light will be needed to illuminate the area.

CONCLUSION The reverberation time for Children Library in 500 Hz of absorption coefficient is 0.56s. Based on the standard reverberation time, the standard comfort for reverberation time for Children library is less than 0.6s. Hence, the reverberation time meets with the standard comfort.

CONCLUSION The overall transmission loss from cafe to the creative studio is 42dB. Assume that the sound pressure level in the cafe is 70 dB, the sound transmitted through the common wall of the cafe and the creative studio, is 28dB. Based on the standard noise criteria, 28dB is considered quiet. Therefore, barely any sound will be transmitted through the walls. Therefore, it will not disrupt the activities in the Creative Studio.
