Central Utility Plant
The Moreno Valley Medical Center project scope includes a 93,700-sf, two-level diagnostic & treatment (D&T) building addition and 22,700-sf replacement central plant to the campus’ existing 104-bed hospital. Master planning and land entitlement were undertaken that includes the D&T expansion, central utility plant replacement, and future additions of a new bed tower and medical office building. The D&T addition includes a 6-OR and 2 IR interventional suite, an all-new imaging, clinical lab, central sterile and 6-bed NICU departments. The new central plant resides in a new building adjacent to the hospital (CO ARCHITECTS 2021).

CONTRIBUTION: While working on-site, I observed the first pour for the Diagnostic Treatment Center metal decks through ongoing interior paint finishes being completed. I coordinated the production of Sketches for RFI responses, reviewed submittals for product data, shop drawings, and samples for conformance with the contract documents. Additionally, I coordinated and prepared Ammended Construction Documents and Non-Material Change Forms for HCAi review and approval. I participated in numerous coordination meetings to address concerns and questions that came up in the field. I also represented the architect on the Central Utility Plan Punch List walk and aided in completing items required for Certificate of Occupancy which was accomplished on 9-27-2022.
