LIVE HAPPY. BE CREATIVE. EXPECT WOW.
WELCOME TO THE 2015/2016 FINE ARTS SERIES! For the last several years, we’ve asked you to play with us. Together, we’ve pushed the boundaries of “play” and you have gamely followed us on expeditions to the North Pole, danced with Sugar Plum Fairies and watched in awe as a Certified Lunatic & Master of the Impossible flew across our stage. We’ve transformed into butterflies, gone into WWII trenches together and brought a comic book to life. Really. We’ve done ALL of this together! Through that time, there has been one consistent refrain that I hear from audiences as they leave the theater - “Wow!” “Wow, that was amazing!” “Wow, can you believe that just happened?!” “Wow, that was magical!”

YOU’VE COME TO

Here’s what I can promise you going into the future: our sense of playfulness isn’t going anywhere. Whether your moment of WOW comes during dance parties with musical legends, spine-tingling voices of angels, or ax-throwing feats of daring, we’ve got you covered.

STEPHEN B. HUMPHREY THEATER, SAINT JOHN’S UNIVERSITY TICKETS: Adult: $28 Senior: $25 Staff: $18 Student: $10
All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 relives an astounding moment in history when Allied and German soldiers laid down their arms to celebrate Christmas together. This dramatic re-telling by Theater Latte Da pieces together firsthand accounts of World War I soldiers who recounted stories of sharing food and drink, playing soccer, singing carols and burying each other’s dead. In some places along the Western Front the truce lasted a single night and in others it endured until New Year’s Day. Christmas carols and trench songs are woven into this moving ode to peace that was created by Theater Latte Da’s artistic director Peter Rothstein with musical arrangements by Erick Lichte and Timothy C. Takach. Best for ages 10+. This is a great Christmas show if you like feel-good stories, history/war stories, great singing, Christmas carols and musical theatre.
