What’s New?

Camp Grove Point’s new S.E.A.L. Program: Skills, Environment, Adventure and Leadership

Girls, if you are entering grades 4-12, you can participate in a new recognition program offered at Camp Grove Point. The program design follows your individual journey at summer camp. Through your demonstrated outdoor skills, knowledge of the environment, participation in adventure or leadership, we will present you with an award in each area of study. There are three levels of awards: Beginner, Intermediate and Champion that you can earn. You must complete the first level of progression in order to proceed to the next. Skill Development! Have you always wanted to learn how to survive in the wilderness and improve your skills in sailing and kayaking? If so, this is the perfect opportunity for you. Environmental Development! This year, you will have the chance to learn about insect and plant identification. Once you have demonstrated what you have learned, you will earn an award for your efforts. Adventure Development! If you are a girl who loves to try new things, then this award is for you! Participate in some of the zaniest activities and face your fears week-to-week with courage and confidence. Leadership Development! Do you have the desire to help others and make a difference in the world? If so, then you will be perfect for the Leadership Development Awards. Through participation in the Program Aide, Counselor In Training I and II and the girl volunteer roles at camp, you can show us if you are ready to receive the Camp Grove Point award. Upon embarking on this journey, girls will receive a walking stick. After the necessary requirements are met within the program, girls will receive awards to hang from their walking stick that are associated with the S.E.A.L. colors and levels. Your success will be tracked at camp by your counselor. Recognitions will be awarded at the end of each week.
