Riverside Hospital Proposal 2011 - C. Shoup
“Near the end of 2009, Riverside Hospital announced a multimillion dollar addition (the addition faces the Kankakee River). “I had just finished a day of shooting ten roles of film, capturing details of a Salina Township rock pile and autumn colors along the river. On my way home, I saw a sign announcing the upcoming Riverside addition. A few weeks later, as I was working with the photographs to create the tiled images in this portfolio, I remembered the Riverside announcement, and an inspiration came to me about presenting my work to Riverside, with the hopes they would be interested in purchasing local art for their newest building. “I am patiently looking forward to a meeting with the hospital to present this portfolio—along with additional ideas. I’m confident that local nature will soothe, engage and inspire local patients.”
“The largest pieces in this portfolio are 48” x 48”. I can envision them being ‘landmarks’ that identify each floor opposite elevator doors.”
