September Luncheon Meeting North Denver Cornerstone Collaborative, September 16, 2014 This was a fascinating presentation of one of Denver’s next big urban renewal endeavors. This project will integrate master plans for the National Western Complex, the Platte River greenway, I-70 improvements, the Brighton Boulevard corridor, Globeville & ElyriaSwansea neighborhoods, and the RTD rail lines and stations to DIA. Keep track of the latest on the NDCC website. NDCC will provide major restoration and development potential for Denver, as well as significant opportunities for CSI members in the construction industry.

Holcim Cement Tour August 19, 2014 Florence, CO This plant tour was an up close encounter with one of the construction industry's largest product development endeavors, the mining and manufacture of cement for construction. CSI Denver Golf Tournament July 14, 2014 Arrowhead Golf Course, Littleton, CO A perfect day at one of the most picturesque golf courses in all of Colorado. CSI members teamed with other industry professionals for early morning exercise, camaraderie, and competition. Prizes and a catered lunch completed a great event. CONSTRUCT Denver April 8, 2014 Red Lion Hotel, Aurora, CO A half day of industry specific education, construction product show, culminating in a delicious banquet and presentation by space aviation consultant Michael Miller on commercial spaceports, including in Colorado. This event was for all construction industry members and was free to invited guests, courtesy of our generous sponsors and exhibitors. Plan ahead for March 2015!

CONSTRUCT Baltimore September 9-12, 2014 Photos Looking down from the top of Baltimore’s World Trade Center on a beautiful September evening was special, but especially so when we were there to honor our own Ann Baker, FCSI for her admission to fellowship in CSI. Ann, along with 3 other members, received this honor for outstanding and careerlong service to the mission of CSI. CONSTRUCT included 3-1/2 packed days of outstanding events, tours, education, product show, leadership training, and the CSI annual meeting. Institute is working hard to engage all members in new ways of understanding and spreading the word of CSI as the nexus of Building Knowledge and Improving Project Delivery.
Hard to beat the walk to the World Trade Center with bagpipe accompaniment by Denver’s Mike Young in full Scottish regalia. Our Liz O’Sullivan and Morayma Salas certainly enjoyed the scene.
CSI’s new Night Out, a 4-hour social extravaganza with food, drinks, and live music at the Power Plant Live venue concluded a stimulating week. Everyone you met was a CSI member, but in a casual and fun atmosphere, welcome after a heavily planned week. Next year CONSTRUCT meets in St. Louis, September 30 – October 3, 2015.
