Christian World Celebrates 10 Years of Ministry with Israel Houghton Israel Houghton and New Breed are coming for the first time to Southwest Louisiana Friday, November 13 @ 7:30 pm. This is part of the 10 years of Ministry celebration for Pastors Jerry and Hope Snider and Christian World. “This will be an unforgettable evening”, says Pastor Jerry. “If you have never experienced the music of Israel Houghton… this is not just entertainment…this will be a prophetic worship experience. Hope and I would love for you to join us and be a part of this powerful night of worship”. The tickets are only $10 and are available at christianworld.cc or by calling 337-475-0157. Israel Houghton is known for injecting contemporary gospel and worship with a blazing, youthful energy that has made him among the most influential leaders in his field. As a singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, producer and worship leader, he has created a canon of songs that have become standards in houses of faith around the globe. He has accomplished this largely as the leader of “Israel and New Breed,” a Grammy, Stellar and Dove Award-winning musical ensemble and ministry organization that has amassed gold-selling albums and critical platitudes reserved for the best of the best. Over the past 6 years, Israel has amassed a legion of fans while blasting down musical barriers, and drawing together people of all races, ages and cultures through worship. He has been fittingly graced with 2 Gold-selling albums, 6 Dove Awards, 2 Stellar Awards, a Soul Train Award, and 2 Grammy® Awards – one for “Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album” for A Deeper Level and one for “Best Traditional Gospel Album” for Alive In South Africa. Ironically, there is very little that is “traditional” about the way Israel approaches music and ministry, defying categorization with an ease that other artists envy. “It’s not a white sound or black sound, it’s a Kingdom sound,” explains the songwriter

and producer. And it is because of this progressive connection to now-generation believers that Israel’s music has been fanatically embraced around the globe. For his most current musical offering, Israel steps away from the members of New Breed, who are themselves active in their own ministries, to record a solo project that is his most personal effort to date. The album, The Power of One, challenges people to change the world. “I strongly believe that those of us who consider ourselves worshippers need to have a heart for social justice,” says Israel who penned the CD’s title song specifically around that theme for the album. As part of his personal effort to change the world, Israel supports a variety of compassion-focused ministries including the international relief and aid organization World Vision and a medical missions ministry birthed out of Houston’s Lakewood Church where he serves as a worship leader for Pastor Joel Osteen. The tickets are on sale now for $10 and are available at christianworld.cc. The tickets will be available for $15 at the door. The doors will open at 6:30 pm. For more information call 337-475-0157.

What is going to happen according to end times prophecy? By: Dr. Alfred Adams (LaPlace, LA) www.nearingmidnight.com The Bible has a lot to say about the end times. Nearly every book of the Bible contains prophecy regarding the end times. Taking all of these prophecies and organizing them can be difficult. Following is a very brief summary of what the Bible declares will happen in the end times. Christ will remove all born-again believers from the earth in an event known as the rapture (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:51-54). At the judgment seat of Christ, these believers will be rewarded for good

works and faithful service during their time on earth or will lose rewards, but not eternal life, for lack of service and obedience (1 Corinthians 3:11-15; 2 Corinthians 5:10). The Antichrist (the beast) will come into power and will sign a covenant with Israel for seven years (Daniel 9:27). This sevenyear period of time is known as the “tribulation.” During the tribulation, there will be terrible wars, famines, plagues, and natural disasters. God will be pouring out His wrath against sin, evil, and wickedness. The tribulation will include the appearance of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, and the seven seal, trumpet, and bowl judgments. About halfway through the seven years,

the Antichrist will break the peace covenant with Israel and make war against it. The Antichrist will commit “the abomination of desolation” and set up an image of himself to be worshipped in the Jerusalem temple (Daniel 9:27; 2 Thessalonians 2:3-10), which will have been rebuilt. The second half of the tribulation is known as “the great tribulation” (Revelation 7:14) and “the time of Jacob’s trouble” (Jeremiah 30:7). At the end of the seven-year tribulation, the Antichrist will launch a final attack on Jerusalem, culminating in the battle of Armageddon. Jesus Christ will return, destroy the Antichrist and his armies, and cast them into the lake of fire (Revelation 19:11-21). Christ

will then bind Satan in the Abyss for 1000 years and He will rule His earthly kingdom for this thousand-year period (Revelation 20:1-6). At the end of the thousand years, Satan will be released, defeated again, and then cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:7-10) for eternity. Christ then judges all unbelievers (Revelation 20:10-15) at the great white throne judgment, casting them all into the lake of fire. Christ will then usher in a new heaven and new earth and the New Jerusalem—the eternal dwelling place of believers. There will be no more sin, sorrow, or death (Revelation 21–22).

Christian Tithing This question is one that can be controversial in the Christian arena. My answer is a short one, but, keep in mind that one can write a book on the Old Testament tithes and for what their purposes were. However, in the N.T. we have moved from the written law to the heart. Giving is a heart matter. If one is totally submitted to Christ, then all else will be as well…including the wallet and purse. Question: "What does the Bible say about Christian tithing?" Answer: Tithing is an issue that many Christians struggle with. In many churches, tithing is over-emphasized. At the same time, many Christians refuse to submit to the Biblical exhortation in regards to making offerings to the Lord. Tithing/ giving is intended to be a joy and a blessing. Sadly, that is rarely the case in the church today. Two kinds of giving are taught in the Bible: giving to the government (compulsory), and giving to God (voluntary). The issue has been pretty much confused. Tithing is an Old Testament concept. Israel, in the Old Testament, was a God-led nation, a Theocracy. The Levitical priests acted as the civil government. The Levite’s tithes (Lev.27:30-33) was a kind of forerunner to today’s income tax, as was a second annual tithe required by God to provide for a national festival (Deut.14:22-29). There were also smaller taxes paid by the people by the law (Lev.19:9-10; Exo.23:1011). So, the actual required total giving of the people was well over 20%, not 10%. All the money received was used to operate the nation. All giving apart from what was received to run the nation was totally and purely on a voluntary basis (Exo.25:2; I Chr.29:9). Each person gave whatever was in their heart to give. There were no percentage requirements. New Testament believers are never commanded to tithe. Matt.22:15-22 and Romans 13:1-7 tell us about the only required giving in the church age, which is the paying of taxes to the government. What is interesting is that we as Americans pay about 20-

30 percent of what we earn to the government, an approximate amount of what was required under the Theocratic umbrella of Israel in the O.T. The New Testament nowhere commands, or even recommends that Christians submit to a legalistic tithe system. Now, please do not misunderstand me. I am a firm believer in supporting the local church and ministries with my finances, but, within the context of God’s Word. Remember, the giving must be done with the right biblical attitude. Paul states that believers should set aside a portion of their income in order to support the church (1 Corinthians 16:1-2). The New Testament nowhere assigns a certain percentage of income to set aside, but only says it is to be “in keeping with his income” (1 Corinthians 16:2). The Christian church has essentially taken the 10% figure from the Old Testament tithe and applied it as a “recommended minimum” for Christians in their giving. As I indicated earlier, it was never a 10% but a 20% plus tithing system in the O.T. Although the New Testament does not identify a specific amount or percentage to give, it does talk about the importance and benefits of giving (2 Cor. 9:6; Luke 6:38). They should give as they are able, “in keeping with his income.” Sometimes that means giving more than a tithe, sometimes that may mean giving less than a tithe. It all depends on the ability of the Christian and the needs of the church. Each and every Christian should diligently pray and seek God’s wisdom in participating in sincere giving and/or for how much he or she should give (James 1:5). In 2 Corinthians, Paul says that those who gave, gave beyond their ability (2Cor.8:3) but, they “first gave themselves to the Lord” (2 Cor. 8:5). It is a giving of ourselves to the Lord. As we develop an intimate relationship with Him, there is no law. We learn that, “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).

In 2 Corinthians, Paul says that those who gave, gave beyond their ability (2Cor.8:3) but, they “first gave themselves to the Lord” (2 Cor. 8:5). It is a giving of ourselves to the Lord.

Got Fear? By Casey Sollock Lake Jackson, Texas Fear. Such a small word to evoke such emotion! Just saying the word “fear” gives me icky feelings inside. Fear can stop us cold as we try to take steps forward in life and in business, but it doesn’t have to. What if we lived life in faith and love instead of fear? What new doors would open? What amazing things would we accomplish? We have all experienced palm-sweating fear! Don’t deny it. You know you have, and it’s okay. Personally, I was afraid to start my own business. When I started dreaming of the possibilities, my inner gremlin started telling me I couldn’t do it. Fear crept up inside. Okay, it didn’t creep; fear overtook me and stopped me cold for a time. Fear to market. Fear to make presentations in front of people (otherwise known as public speaking). Fear of failure. Fear of success (yep, it’s

true). Fear of looking silly. Fear of not having what it takes to be a mompreneur. Fear that I’m not smart enough, pretty enough, funny enough. Annoying, frustrating, ridiculous FEAR. You know what? I started my business anyway. I walked head-on into the fear and did it anyway. My passion for what I do is bigger than my fear. My purpose in my business put fear in its place. The opposite of fear is love. I have learned to keep fear under wraps be replacing the ‘fear’ emotion with the ‘love’ emotion. What a relief! My coaching practice is a work of love. Before I give presentations or talk to clients, I LOVE them. I close my eyes and love. Coming from a place of love squashes all the fear out. And, it is faith that allows me to take the next step and do the next thing to make my business successful. I have faith that my business will continue to grow. I have faith that

ALL things work together for good. Faith is the bridge that gets us from where we are to where we want to be. So, you see, love and faith overcome fear and allow us to do what we need to do. Love and faith allow us to fulfill our purpose. YOUR ASSIGNMENT: What are you afraid of? What fear is holding you back from accomplishing what you’re on this earth to accomplish? Name the fear. Now, take a step towards confronting that fear. It can be a small step, but just get into motion. Are you fearful of public speaking? Start in your living room. Don’t allow your fear to handcuff you for the rest of your life. Remember, love and faith trump fear. You are here for a GRAND purpose. Tell fear to move over because you have work to do! Casey Sollock is the Career Happiness Coach and owner of Career Happiness Now!. She creates career happiness for Christian mom-

preneurs. She helps them start and grow businesses they are passionate about, based on their God-given gifts, while keeping family first. All Things that Amaze... A Life of Thankfulness Earth’s crammed with heaven, And every common bush afire with God,But only he who sees takes off his shoes; The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries. Elizabeth Barrett Browning I recently read this quote by Elizabeth Barrett Browning and I was fascinated by the wonder of the statements made in these four short verses. I was struck by the truth of what I believe she was trying to convey to those who would later read her words. I would like to share the thoughts that her quote sparked in me. Yes, “Earth is crammed with heaven, and every common bush afire with God.” It is all around us, as if creation is shouting to us with the wonders of heaven and the glory of God. The beauty of God's creation surrounding us everyday of our lives. Psalms 19:1-4 says “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the end of the world.” Next, Browning poses; “But only he who sees takes off his shoes; The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.” Is this not true? How many of us everyday of our lives pass by God’s beauty and never take the time to enjoy it and bask in it. How many of us never take time to realize the gifts He has bestowed upon us and contemplate the wonder of it all? More often than not we take these things for granted and go on about our everyday lives doing what we normally do never realizing that God is all around us in the magnificence of His great creation. I want to be one that “sees and takes off my shoes.” I want to live every day of my life with thankfulness to God for all that He has blessed me with. There are so many things that amaze me. I don’t always notice but when I take the time

to be still and really listen, God begins to speak to my heart through His creation. Sometimes when I listen it seems as if what I see just takes a hold on my heart and fills me with overflowing joy. Other times it is as if He envelops me in His loving embrace and then there are those times when I get an idea and think “there is a story in that” which I often write down. There are many amazing things of beauty all around us that we often take for granted. Things of absolute beauty and glory such as sunrises and sunsets. Who but God could paint a new picture of beauty every morning and evening? What about the sun bursting through the clouds and creating glorious silver linings and sending shafts of light down to earth? It is as if the sun is reaching down and kissing the earth with warmth and love. What about the wind softly blowing through long flowing grasses along the roadside? It is almost as if the grass is dancing to a softly playing tune. Do you take the time to notice and appreciate simple but beautiful things? The smile on a child’s face. The soft touch of newborn’s tiny little hand encircling your finger. The sparkle in a person’s eye with joy reflected on their face. The soft caring touch of a hand or an embrace of love. Laughter and music. What about the truly amazing human body that God blessed us with. We are indeed “wonderfully and fearfully made.” What about… The wonder of fish flitting in the water and jumping out to splash in

again as if playing games. The beauty of birds soaring ever so gracefully through the sky. The sweet melodies of morning song birds. The amazing speed of the wings of a tiny little hummingbird as it gets nectar from a flower. The gracefulness of deer bounding through fields and woods. The energy and playfulness of puppies and kittens. The slowness of a turtle as he lazily crosses the road seemingly without a care in the world. The cuteness of rabbits as they perk their ears, wiggle their noses and lift their heads to see what is around them. How about… The beauty and gracefulness of butterflies as they softly fly about. The relaxing sounds of insects buzzing amongst the beauty of nature. The strength of an ant carrying something twice its size not quitting or giving up. The buzzing of bees as they go from one flower to another, pollinating as they go, always working hard. The grace and beauty of dragonflies as they flit from place to place in the wide-open spaces. Have you noticed… The velvety softness of flower pedals. The sheer beauty and differences of the many different colored flowers that dazzle our eyes. The beauty of thousands of wild flowers growing wherever they may, filling the landscape and blooming with glorious colors. The delicate beauty of finely lined leaves with all their different colors, shapes and sizes. The wind dancing through the tops of mighty trees as they stretch their limbs to the sky as if in praise. The resilience of plants as they

Earth’s crammed with heaven, And every common bush afire with God,But only he who sees takes off his shoes; The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

force their way through cracks, rocks or hard places to bloom and prosper. How about… The beauty of ocean waves softly rolling onto a sandy shore. The strong yet beautiful frothing ocean waves battering rocky reef areas. The sheer power of waterfalls as they cascade down the sides of mountains into beautiful rocky river beds. The refreshing of rain as it softly falls down from the heavens above. Rainbows after the rain. The beauty of snowflakes, each one completely different, softly falling to the ground and leaving a perfect blanket of white beauty. The softness of the moonlight and stars reflected on calm the waters of a lake or river. The beauty of the night lit up with the stars and the moon. Soft breezes and night sounds. I could go on and on. Amazing things come in small packages and big packages; some of them are in the grandest places, some in small and the most remote places. Some are the simplest things in life that we don’t take the time to notice or appreciate. There are so many amazing things that I could never begin to name them all, and of course I haven’t even begun to discover them all! It would take a lifetime and an eternity to really discover “earth crammed with heaven and every bush afire with God.” I pray that we would all be people who would really “see and take off our shoes” appreciating and giving thanks to God for the wonderous gifts he has bestowed upon us. We are truly blessed and we are His most special creation. He loves us and that is why He blessed us with such beauty and glory all around us. He crammed earth with heaven just for us and on top of that He gave His greatest gift, His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ! How awesome is our God. Love in Christ, Michele November 2008

Marketplace Ministry By Cheryl Hill (Maryland) Working in government for over 15 years and being in ministry for over 25 years brought me to a cross road about four years ago. I have worked in the Maryland Governor’s Office of Community Initiatives for over five years in the area of Faith Based Initiatives. This position allowed me to be creative and it truly fulfilled much of the purpose God had in me for a season. Faith Based Initiatives is powerful for the Church world because it brings a paradigm shift to the Church and provides a forum/vehicle to do the great works they do without compromising their faith. It gives the faith community an option of being involved in the society as a whole. By this I mean that by coming to “the tables of planning” the Church can get a view of how a society operates with prayer. Laws will still be enacted but how much better would the decision be if the faith community were giving a balanced view of what the community needs are? The faith community is no doubt the critical partner for government and private corporations as well. They faith community will shy away from faith based initiatives because of lack of understanding what the stipulations are and how they are implemented. The major stipulation that many faith leaders are not clear on is that the “program” that is administered through their ministry, synagogue or mosque must be inclusive of all community residents. In order to partake of funding from the federal government you must not proselytize through your program. You have to think about it…who would pay you money to build your ministry? Other ministries will not pay someone to bring food, clothing, shelter and other resources your church while they have an existing ministry. It is easy enough to administer your programs and allow God to do the rest. The point is that you cannot force someone to go to bible study in order to receive your resources…if you are seeking government funding. The years of developing and implementing programs and strategies for the government to involve ministries to come to the table of planning directed me into another avenue of ministry. This avenue is called

Marketplace Ministry. As I reviewed some materials by Os Hillman he said: What happens when Christian believers take the Word of God literally and begin to apply it where they spend sixty to seventy percent of their waking hours? What happens when they use their spiritual authority in their work lives, reflecting their spiritual value system in their area of influence? What happens is that lives, workplaces, cities and nations begin to be transformed by the power of Jesus Christ. His prayer in Matthew, which says “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” becomes a reality in the here and now. God literally sent me on a three year crash course of walking with friends, co-workers and leaders that had a “call to ministry” on their lives and did not know how to transfer this call into the marketplace setting. Believe it or not a Senator stated “I go to church every Sunday but I don’t know how to bring what I learned to my workplace”. Another statement that affected me was when a friend and I were sitting in a worship service, the service was wonder, the Word was great, I was writing feverously at the revelation that was being spoken, he on the other hand stated that while I write, his mind takes in everything being said but at the same time he wonders how can I fix the sound system, how can I adjust the wiring. You may ask what does this have to do with anything. He is an Inventor or a creator of gadgets! He had a phenomenal prophetic call and accuracy but did not fit in the five fold ministry inside the four walls. Well, from that moment on I realized he had a tremendous call on his life but the things he loved doing the most was not being minis-

tered to. He was called to the Marketplace. This is where He thrives. I began to ask questions of others that I saw walking away from the House of God and to my surprise many had the same response. What then are we to do with this mass exodus? God began to speak to me to go capture those that were walking away from His house and minister to them one by one, group by group or by the masses. I began Marketplace Ministry seminars in 2006. I have seen CEO’s fall to their knees weeping when they found out that the call on their lives did not have to be served in the four walls of the House of God. Elementary teachers who wanted to quit their jobs to try to answer the call of ministry began to truly answer the “call” of ministry right in the elementary school by speaking words of hope, tuning into each “spiritual gift” of her student and speaking to their future. The teacher cried and was empowered to turn the way she taught around to a new a powerful curriculum that involved more interaction. This is what I have done while working in government. I have found that Governor’s, lawyers, housewives and CEO’s who have a call on their lives are no different than the Pastor or the Prophet inside the four walls who has a call on their lives. God has made it so the anointing and gifts are also for those in the marketplace to use to minister to great leaders who do not attend “church” but have need of a Word of Wisdom/Knowledge, a prophetic word, encouragement or whatever the need may be. My greatest desire is that the Church World as a whole begins to look at how we view our Ministers of the Gospel and begin to ordain those in the marketplace as well

as “marketplace” Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Teachers and Evangelists. The harvest is great in the marketplace if we would take a second look at how Jesus ministered. I pray for trainings to overtake the body of Christ in this effort. Our doctors, lawyers, clerical staff, etc. will be delighted to know that they are “valuable right where they are!” After going on a trip to Africa last year and seeing poverty in a way I never dreamed. I vowed to God that if He gave me an opportunity to change the quality of life for those in Africa and to assist in development projects I would do it. The Word of the Lord came to me as follows: “I want you to do the same thing you do for the Governor’s Office in Africa.” What did I do in the Governor’s Office? I facilitated meetings, provide faith based outreaches with resources available through state agencies, I ministered to great leaders and I prophesied. What will I do in Africa? All of the same and so much more., I have been truly blessed to begin a work as the President of God’s Green Africa to bless those in Africa and to introduce the concept of faith based initiatives and to administer marketplace ministry teachings at the same time. I am blessed beyond measure to minister inside the four walls as well as outside the four walls “for such a time as this”.

Alcohol And Substance Abuse Will Not Take Away Your Fears By: Stanley Popovich Alcohol and substance abuse or any other addictions will not take away your problems and fears. In the short run, they might make you feel better, but in the long run these addictions will only make things worse. So what do you do to make your problems and fears go away? Well, since you can’t runaway from them, then the best solution is to tackle your fears head on no matter how strong they may be. The key is to be smart in how you try to manage these fears. Here are some ways in how to manage your persistent fears and anxieties. The first step is to learn to take it one day at a time. Instead of worrying about how you will get through the rest of the week or coming month, try to focus on today. Each day can provide us with different opportu-

for that one percent to make a world of difference.

The important thing is to get the proper help by seeing a professional. Avoiding your problem through the use of alcohol or other substances will do nothing in the long run in fixing your problems. It will just make things worse. Managing your fear and anxieties will take some hard work. Be patience, persistent and stay committed in trying to solve your problem.

Another technique that is very helpful is to have a small notebook of positive statements that makes you feel good. Whenever you come across Remember that no one can predict an affirmation that makes you feel the future with one hundred per- good, write it down in a small notecent certainty. he Problem: Home

The story of the prodigal son is one of the most cherished stories in the Bible. It’s a story about irresponsible decisions, the danger of having too much too soon and how God sometimes has to demote us in order for us to see things the way He wants us to. But rarely do we talk about the obvious concern that something at home had gone awry. Allow me to suggest, if the problem at home had been corrected the elements of this story might be much different. We so often focus on the younger son and forget about to consider the elder. But, in closely examining the scriptures we find a father with two sons with two very different problems. One son thinks that home is so unbearable that he must divorce himself from the situation and seek refuge in a far away country. Then there’s another son who thinks so highly of himself that a home without him in it wouldn’t be a home at all. Isn’t it puzzling how two children can be raised in the same house, by the same parents, having the same discipline, atmosphere and opportunities yet end up living such contrasting lifestyles? One child squanders and the other savors. One child ends up happy and contented while the other ends ups sad and frustrated. Two children brought up in the same household and one is a blessing and the other is a burden. One relishes his parents and siblings while the other takes them for granted. How amazing!

right stuff it throws mom out of whack and eventually trickles down to the children. Teenagers often struggle with their need for support and independence in the home. But they too must understand that home is what they make it. You cannot get out of home something that you do not put into it. Parents can teach their children values until the cow jumps over the moon, but if the children refuse to put into what is being taught the effect will be as if the parents never said a word. For this reason, many bad men come from good homes. Many alcoholics come from sober homes. Many godless men came from God fearing homes. Why? Because they failed to understand that home is what you make it to be. I am impassioned by the plight of today’s parents and teens. As youth pastor of a large group of teenagers I see it often. The struggle. The culture clash. The tug-of-war between being wellliked and well-mannered; faith and fashionable; what’s proper and what’s popular. It is our toil to raise our children in an environment of morality. Yet when they open the door or cut on the television immorality is rampant. It is our labor to enhance an atmosphere of caring and compassion while the world lulls them into an air of criticism and condemnation. For this purpose it is all the more imperative that each of know that home is what we make it. We cannot get out of it what we refuse to put into it. So then, if you want joy in your home your must be joyful. If you want love in your home it begins with you, try being more loving and lovable. If you want peace in your home you must first be peaceable. If you want a home of mercy then you must first be merciful. We must understand that home is exactly what each member in that home makes that home to be.

Every father and husband needs to know that he has a role to play. Every mother and wife must know that hers is an irreplaceable role. Every son and daughter must know that even they have a significant role to play. Now the roles that each of us play in the home will determine the health and well being of our families. It’s about Love and not the Law! “Praise & Worship is the key to releasing God’s Presence to his people”. The purpose of God’s Presence is to meet the needs of his people!” Bishop McClendon Moses said “Lord if your Presence doesn’t go with us, I don’t want to go; how else will we be distinguished from all other people on earth.” Exodus 33:15 In the Book of John chapter 3, verse 16….. it states “For God so LOVED the world that he gave his only begotten son. Gave his only begotten son stood out to me. I am blessed with a son who at times I want to give him away…. (Smile) But deep down inside my love for him and all of his teenage ways makes that impossible. I grew up in a home where love came from Mom and discipline came from dad. It was pretty interesting, the presence of God was there I guess, I mean we “went to church”, Mom had prayer meetings, dad would use God’s name quite a bit from time to time, especially on report card day. Fast forward to today, so much has changed since those days as far as the presence of God is concerned. I am convinced that when you love someone, you can be around them no matter what they do, no matter what they say, or whatever the cause. Mom had a saying growing up. “Stand for something or you’ll fall for anything” I remember back in Aug. 2001, I decided to say yes to the call of God on my life and invited Jesus into my heart. It was nighttime and I was at work, driving my truck listening to unshackled on 102.9 FM. Now I was not saved at that time, I would hear it in my friend’s truck while we were on break; you see that particular job caused us to be alone in a vehicle for @ least 12 hours a night. God spoke to my heart that night, and I cried and repeated a prayer and allowed The Lord Jesus to come in and sup with me. (Rev. 3:20) he is always knocking, you see that leads me to this month’s nugget. The presence of God is so important in the life of a believer that we need to know that he is there in some form or fashion, if you remembered in August, I asked “did you know it was him?” I am not one of those who treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if we could be saved by keeping the law, then there was no need for Christ to die. You can find that in Galatians 2:21. My goal in this study is to get the reader to realize that you love God because you love him, you can’t do anything other than love him because he first loved you, you can’t hang on the cross anymore, everything that needs to be done for you to be saved has already been done. You can’t dress it up, you can’t eat it up, not do this or do that, you can’t act perfect in public, but be sneaky and evil when you are by yourself, God knows your heart( see Psalm 139:1-7), and he loves you because he loves you. As the scripture said above if we could be saved by keeping the law, then why would we need Jesus? Truly….I love speed, I do not like to wear seatbelts, I pass a red light every now and then….. Now I’ve confessed that to you for this reason. I love to live and worship God more. So because of my love to live and worship him, I try to keep the law of man, by not speeding all the time, occasionally, wearing my seatbelt, and stopping at the yellow light before it turns red. Come on now you’ve been there. However my Love for Jesus and life itself, says OBEY the law that is set by man. (See Romans 13:1-5) because God has placed the man there in the first place. We need to not look so at the law as we do the love of doing a thing. You should just love for no reason, I

heard a preacher say the other day. It’s time to look pass all the oppression, obsession, political views, bureaucracy, racism, fascisms and so on. Love is a powerful word, yet we use it so loosely. Let’s see what God’s word says about that (see 1 John 3:18) & (1 John 4:19). This nugget is to get you to do things not because the law says do it, do a thing because you love to do it. A little leaven levels the whole lump. 1 Corinthians 13:1 states “And now I will show you the best way of all. I may speak in different languages of people or even angels. But if I do not have love, I am only a noisy bell or a crashing cymbal”. Romans 13:8-10 states “Pay all your debts, except the debt of love for others. You can never finish paying that! If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill all the requirements of God’s law. For the commandments against adultery and murder and stealing and coveting—and any other commandment are all summed up in this one commandment: Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to anyone, so love satisfies all of God’s requirements. Have you ever wanted to say something out of the flesh and you knew that it would not be good and you felt a tug in your heart say….” Don’t say it”! I believe that is God’s still quiet voice talking to you. Cultivate a relationship with the Lord where you say” I am Glad I hear God’s voice, Lord thank you for your Presence in my life” What this affirmation will do is confirm to your spirit man that your words have power and will end up delivering you from evil thoughts and thoughts of evil (I know you like that) I read where Smith Wigglesworth said we need to pray about those two things when praying. Lord forgive me for any thoughts of evil and any evil thoughts”. Throughout the course of a day, your mind plays tricks on you if you’re real with yourself.. Should I do this? Should I do that? Speed, eat it, Drink it, smoke it, look at it, steal it, lie about it, sleep in, call in, say this, say that, gossip, tattle, whine, be jealous, envy, go ahead and covet, commit adultery, lust, fornicate, do whatever you want….. Don’t listen to those thoughts. The difference between Evil thoughts and thoughts of evil is this. Would you be acting in Love or is it because of the law. Love is a fruit of the spirit! Most of what I’ve just listed are manifestations of the flesh (Galatians 5:19) don’t take my word for it read it for yourself. Our goal should be as believers to minister to people with the gift God gave you, if God has blessed you to do a thing, don’t do it with the attitude of look at me, look what I did, look how I gave, look who I’m with, look at me. Me, me, me, me……. God said when you do a thing, do it in secret and God who knows your heart will reward you openly. People wonder why you’re blessed and you live the way you do, Give him the glory, and practice his presence... Love for no reason. This next one is touchy for so many people I minister to. “Forgiveness is for you, not for them” if you have been wronged by someone, especially in the body of Christ, forgive them and turn them over to God. Even Jesus had a Judas….betrayed by one of his own. Lord God, in the name of Jesus, help me to love and to be the person someone will see and turn to you and give their life to you. Lord, Protect and heal our hearts from hurt and harm. It is because of your tender mercies that we are not consumed and for that I say thank you. May you get all glory and honor and praise in the name of Jesus I pray.

“Forgiveness is for you, not for them”

Equipping You to Impact Your World

Tynia M. Coleman

It is wonderful to know that as a young woman in God you have been chosen to serve Him in this day and time. He particularly chose to send you into the earth when He did, because you have a distinct destiny on your life today. The Lord God has sent you into the earth realm to take over in the arena(s) He has gifted you in. Whether that arena is music, dance, education, medicine, media, etc… Know that your life has been predestined and pre-designed by God to be a success. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9 When you are living your life in pursuit of your destiny you are showing forth the praises of God. When you step over into His pre-designed plan for your life, you automatically give Him Glory. God is so proud when you are not afraid nor ashamed to be whom and what He has said you are. Know that God loves you and that He carefully watches over you daily.

You are His special treasure. You are His and He is yours. The Lord has given you as a gift to a world that doesn’t know Him or does not know how to get to Him. You are here to lead them to Him. Our God has sanctified you by His Word so that you can live set apart from the world, meaning that you are God’s representative in the earth. So, that way, your behavior will always represent God’s Kingdom, what you say will always glorify God and be pleasing to His ears, and your heart’s desires will be a reflection of Jesus, Who lives within you. • Be You…Be Distinct…Stand Out • Dominate In All Things You are not of the world – you are not worldly, belonging to the world, just – as I am not of the world. Book signing on November 14th at the Women’s Empowerment Conference at Central School in Lake Charles, La from 9 am - 2 PM. New Book will be available at the Christian Book Center on Dec. 1st, 2009!! I was inspired to write these inspirational books, because I see a lot of women, men, and children that are afraid. I seen myself in them, and I know what they are going through not knowing what to do. I have been through a lot of damaging situations in a lifetime. Until I got enough courage to seek help for

myself, I was just like everyone else lost in the house. Some people get help others don''t know how, and this is where I come in to help them. Just letting people know what I have been through, and how God delivered me. I know this will help a lot of woman in their time of needing someone to be there for them. It''s not easy to admit that you need help, but once you do, everything begins to go in the right direction for you. I know some situation need more care than others do. Philippians 4:13 states; I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me. God gave me the strength to overcome my past, and he can help you overcome yours also. “Lorna’s Motto is: Forgive in order to Live”
